Hi,
The mobile theme is a plugin that provide you a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to use for pages that are made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) only the classic editor also for mobile theme the content for pages need to be set in mobile editor -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ebUIzt4se
Mobile Theme: Automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme – https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Hi,
Thank you for your appreciation! Please notice that, in the latest version of the theme, we have introduced more features for AMP. Updating it, you will use the AMP only, the AMP with the Mobile theme and also, you can set up your AMP only for the desired pages. Check the changelog from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Digj7cL8t
Thank you!
Hello,
If you look at this page on mobile: https://businessbolts.com/marketing
It has all the category labels displayed at the top. It’s not doing this for the non-mobile site. I do have the special mobile feature enabled. I don’t want the categories to display like this. Although I’ve spent a fair amount of time looking for a way to shut it off, I can’t seem to find it. Please let me know how to turn this off.
Thanks,
Lisa
Hi,
That’s the default functionality for mobile devices (with the Mobile theme or Responsive Mobile layout).
Thank you!
Hello sir please help me to customize mobile amp theme its showing only latest articles. i want to add more elements like news ticker and many more.
I want to remove 1>2> pages created in categories. i want to display all post in same page without changing url. although there are lots of post in same categories.
On AMP pages this code will load – http://prntscr.com/n10gt1
On desktop and mobile theme this one – http://prntscr.com/n10h30
If you want a separate analytics code just for the mobile theme, you could enter it in the mobile theme files directly, but the one from desktop will still load (could be removed with a modification if needed). But this will have to be all redone after a theme update when the mobile theme files will be replaced.
This would be all there is to it.
I can only see featured posts followed by the latest news and then the footer. Can I add more elements in between which I have added to the PC version of my website?
Hi,
1. The amp url will be https://website.com/post-url/?amp this will not affect the seo, but is possible to be some changes because the google need to index the new link.
2. The smart list will change only the content from smart list and nothing more, that is way that text remain there.
3. For this please use a custom css
.comments .comment-form .td-warning-comment, .comments .comment-form .td-warning-author, .comments .comment-form .td-warning-email{
display: block;
text-align: center;
font-size: 11px;
opacity: .65;
}
.comments .td-form-url{
display: none;
}
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/xyMzVQZZcJug
Please set the code in Newspaper>Mobile theme > Custom code
Thank you!
Hi,
Unfortunately for the moment those are the only customization for mobile menu, sorry! we hope that in coming updates to implement some more options, to can customize some more parts of mobile.
Thank you for your understanding!
From what I can see the mobile theme is loading everywhere except the homepage
– http://prntscr.com/n0z1rq – http://prntscr.com/n0z1zd – http://prntscr.com/n0z26j
AMP works as well – http://prntscr.com/n0z2jh
So the mobile theme works, but not in the homepage for some reason.
Hi,
I’m using the feed template where the text/meta field overlays the bottom part of the article image.
I love the design – on desktop. But on mobile it covers way too much of the image. Please see this screen shot from an Iphone 8:
https://bitzmagasin.se/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Mobile.jpg
Any idea on how to fix that?
Best,
Goran
Thanks Catalin. That worked for about half a second then caused a white screen of death. I also need to be able to insert different ad code for different screens (desktop/tablet/mobile).
I’ve bounced it back to the advertiser to see if they can provide banners as .jpg or .gif files.
Thanks.
stuart
Guys,
We are really not satisfied with the current AMP setup. The Old AMP Plugin was nice, But we ub=nderstand the issues of the future support of that plugin. The new mobile theme does lack many features like auto post loading, etc.. and most of don’t use mobile theme plugin. AMP without mobile theme plugin is just the ordinary WordPress AMP plugin. So, It will be great if you guys can create an Updated AMP Plugin or an AMP integration with the theme. Your theme competitors are likely to have their AMP setup working. And if possible please optimize the theme like fewer requests, less page size.
We always love Newspaper Theme ❤
@jensgrabble So many errors would appear if there is no AMP whatsoever for the link you are testing. If this is your website https://www.ikwilgoedkoopreizen.be from what I can see AMP is not active. Please see this guide if you want to activate AMP
– https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
@Bintmusic I have seen something similar with Woocommerce, this plugin also adds a noscript with a class and opacity – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/amp-paired-two-errors/ which can cause the same problem. I made some brief testing with a default theme and the same happens. It could be a problem with the AMP plugin itself or caused by a different plugin in.
While testing with WPBakery active and only theme plugins on our end the AMP posts are valid, no such errors.
The menu on mobile issue (not AMP) could be caused by minification, optimization or such plugins. The respective class that make the menu and search modals visible is not being added to the body when the icon is pressed – http://prntscr.com/n0yaz1
There are also some CSS regularities.
Maybe consider using the mobile theme just for AMP for the moment, and make a copy of the website on a testing sub-domain and set it exactly as the main one. There you can test and try to identify the problem plugin or configuration.
Hello Sir,
I’m still using older version of newspaper theme (v9.5) with old amp plugin that comes with the theme.
I have tested your latest version theme on localhost. and I have few concern.
1. if i will update my theme to latest version and if i follow your amp tutorial (mobile theme + amp plugin).
my url amp will change from https://website.com/post-url/amp/ to https://website.com/post-url/?amp
so my Question is, will it hurt my SEO? (that i am already ranking for)
2. smart list is not working fine with mobile theme, as it supposed to work.
if i goes to smart list post on mobile, Text before list start always remains on top on every page.
see this = http://bit.ly/2ukZNxa
with amp page everything looks fine. see this http://bit.ly/2Ok7Ymd
3. on amp pages Comment field name is not showing up, how will people understand where to fill what.
see this = http://bit.ly/2JDy19E
overwise your product is unbeatable. I hope you will understand my broken bad English. Have a nice day
Hi,
You can try to optimize your mobile responsive theme but if you will use the mobile plugin, you will see better results because the theme will not load more resources.
Thank you!
Okay, thanks. I have experience with WP optimisation, just Newspaper seems to be very stubborn and slow.
> Lately, Google Page Speed Insight seems to change the layout and is not always reliable.
Yep, I’ve also noticed this.
Guess I have the site as optimised as possible. It seems to load on mobile in around 6 seconds, which is okay I guess.
Thanks for the help!
Thanks for your fast reply. By mobile menu I don’t mean the header, but the actual menu / animation when opening the menu (https://imgur.com/a/4mureTq). As I understand the linked blog posts, it is currently not possible to change the look and feel of the menu other than changing the background image/color or replacing it with an horizontal menu.
Hi,
Yes, it seems to be a minor bug in our theme. On the mobile, if you do not have any subcategories, then, all of these will be displayed. Sorry for the inconveniences. I have added to our list of improvements and we hope to fix it in near future updates. If you want to delete them, you can check the following topic from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-delete-the-categories-list-in-mobile-theme/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Please check our documentation for how to Get Slick Designs with the new Mobile Header Feature -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-header-newspaper-theme/
Check out the New Header Main Menu with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/header-main-menu-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Thanks for your detailed response.
I wanted to know if it is possible to optimize for mobile without using Mobile Theme plugin?
Hi,
Do you have installed the Mobile Theme plugin? Clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. If the problem is still there, please let us know. For more details about our mobile theme functionality, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you!
My site is up again, but images is not showing on mobile version, and ticker is frozen. What’s wrong here?
OMG… I told you… when I set my site on “AMP”, my code wich was pasted in AMP plugin works perfectly. When I swich to “AMP + mobile” it dosn’t work. I’ve tried also to paste this code into Mobile Theme filed but nothing happend. Would you be so kind and check it for me? My site: https://radioklinika.pl Situation on this moment: for desktop I have GA code on my GTM. I pasted the second json code into AMP plugin and Mobile Theme. So in fact I have two kinds of code in 3 different placement… On AMO and Mobile Theme it doesn’t work!
