I am using 1.7.1 because for some reason I can’t upgrade to the latest.
But on another note, I used the shortcode for the ratings plugin on pages, which works perfectly fine. But when I added a short code to the posts section, once you click what “star” number you want to rate them, it loads then disappears. Is there a way of fixing this? It’s not due to the plugin since it works on pages.
I’m trying to show an ad unit on smartlist slideshows (near the related articles section) – and it does show but only for the last list item – not for any other. How do I change it so it changes for all of them? I am using smart list #7.
(I have ad unit above it – shows on every page but the ads shown below “all” posts – only show at the last slide, since WP thinks its just one post).
Please show me how to add/upload my own ads images for Header, sidebar and etc…
My site is for a client, and the site owner sure don’t want to use Google AdSense (not all website owner wants Google AdSense). The owner wants to get other people to advertise on the site.
All I can see in the Theme Panel —> Ads —-> :YOUR HEADER AD with a big blank space on the right.
So, how are we going to upload our own ads images?
Can you make it more easier like the HEADER —-> Logo and Favicon?
(just let us select and upload our ads images?)
Thank you for your help?
1) check the adsense code you’re pasting in is complete with any opening/closing javascript tags
2) check your setting in the ad panel to make sure the ad units are “on”
3) if it’s a new adsense account it can take 24 hours for ads to show; or first time ads on this site
4) check the console for errors (F12) to see if some other javascript plugin or widget you’re using is “breaking” the page in some way
hope that helps !
Hi
This is a straight forward question and I hope the answer is likewise. I want to insert ads (Adsense or any other ads) in the top of the category block and at the bottom (above the pagination).
Please see image here: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2samfxl&s=9#.Voafe9Hbiuo
Many Thanks
Hi,
Thanx Andrei for your reply. I already checked that post of google ads appearing time policy. But the problem in my case is adds working on other themes except this theme. But I will accept your answer and wait some time for the ads appear. If it wont then I’ll write you here.
Thanks,
Durga
Hello,
1) you can make the footer narrower with custom css:
.td-footer-wrapper{
padding-top: 0px!important;
padding-bottom: 0px!important;
}
.td-footer-bottom-full{
padding-top:10px!important;
padding-bottom: 10px!important;
}
2) Unfortunately the big grids have a fixed design. Sections of them cannot be removed as other sections will not fit properly anymore. In order to achieve this you will need custom work.
3) If you use a custom ad you can have any dimension you want to it. Simply add an image with the size of the content width using this method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
hi all, @bogdan i tried the other way but nothing. Now i’m using another plugin for adsense but each plugin i use, the cookie block script don’twork only in your theme. See here: http://prntscr.com/9k6wna
Hi,
Unfortunately as i have stated above, there is no easy solution for this as the theme has no such option. I already provided a solution above and i will provide another one.
You can try by using a do_shortcode function so instead of the $buffy .= “\n \n\n”; and $buffy .= “\n \n\n”;
you can use your shortcodes like so:
$buffy .= do_shortcode('[wp_cookie_privacy_lock]');
$buffy .= do_shortcode('[wp_cookie_privacy_lock]');
and use it like the screenshots above.
Please keep in mind that the theme is not tested with this type of plugins and i cannot guarantee it will work. If you do not want to try the solutions i provided you can turn to an ad manager plugin to render your ad codes and use theme’s ad spots just for placements, in that case you can use plugin’s shortcodes to place your ads on theme’s specific ad spots.
Thank you!
Hello rwilson,
Unfortunately, the file ads.php is not available to be edited from Dashboard. You have to set it in another editor, as example Notepad Plus and update via FTP to your database. First of all, please do a backup to your database for greater safety. http://screencast.com/t/clN9dB2U
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello,
The method shown above is exemplified on another type of plugin that uses the shortcode like so
and
You can use the same method to add your own plugin shortcodes in the theme files then you can use your adsense code in the theme panel without other modifications. Simply place the adsense code in the preferred ad spot in the theme panel and it should work.
Thank you!
hi, how i can insert this custom other ads in the header so i can use the cookie block shortcode?
Thanks, Catalin –
I get that part. However I need a static front page, so have my site set up that way. Take a look at: http://www.utahsafehaven.com
If one would click on a selection from the top menu, I’ve been able to add additional ad blocks to the page the menu points to, as well as edit the bottom footer for another banner “ad.”
However, when one clicks on an individual post, those additional ads disappear. How to edit the post template to look like one of the menu “homepage” templates? Is that possible via the Visual Composer? Do I have to create a whole new template? If so, how to point the posts to that template?
In the meantime, where am I able to change the footer ad on the post template?
Thanks for your help. LOVE the theme!
Hello,
Unfortunately we cannot offer a precise answer as the plugin is not tested and we have no idea of it’s functionality. You can maybe find a different plugin or try to find a solution online for plugin implementation.
The theme alters the adsense code in order to display it. You can maybe try to use the ‘other ads’ method so the adsense does not get rewritten and maybe then the plugin can ‘work it’s magic’.

I hope this helps.

Hello,
You can control the social icons from the top menu and footer from here: http://screencast.com/t/GXI6TA03ja
The image shown on your example is actually an ad. Most likely the article bottom ad: http://screencast.com/t/yu3GiLx3CQ It seems the image used for the ad cannot be found in the path specified. Also, if you are not using adsense, please use the following method to place ads: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads/
You can also find lots of useful info in the documentation that will help you on your project.
Thank you!
Hey guys.
I’ve got some problems with visual composer….
When I try to create a layout in the editor all of the blocks are misaligned and the content wont sit inside the boxes properly. As you can see from the image the content elements aren’t sat in the rows properly and the social counter is outputting text and pushing itself into another container below the content it should sit alongside.
https://unplug.tips/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/mangled-vis-comp.png
Not sure what’s going on, I’ve tried disabling all plugins etc but to no avail.
Incidentally my hosting provider had to move my server yesterday as I had been complaining about poor performance, they went ahead and did a server migration yesterday so maybe it’s not liking the new server environment? I don’t know though.
Might just try deleting the theme/plugins and reinstalling everything. Let me know what you think

Hello – I am using an ad server with the theme ad zones but for some reason the header ad is only showing a small sliver of my ad.
I have sent my site + ad code to contact@tagdiv.com if you don’t mind having a quick look… Would this be a CSS issue?
(If I should be emailing another address for private communication, please let me know).
The other ads on the site are served in a similar fashion with no issues.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Hello,
The theme was built to implement adsense codes and it rewrites them in order to properly display the ad. This functionality can be changed to make our theme not rewrite the code by adding this line:
$ad_array[$spot_id]['current_ad_type']='other';
Here: http://screencast.com/t/vAqOsVi76EN
Thank you!
Yes,
you need to spend some time researching how WP works and also hosting, and other speed optimization tricks.
Theme doesn’t control your hosting setup or optimization of your site processes. It’s just a theme. Optimizing WordPress applies to *any* theme sitting on top of WP and PHP.
For example, to increase memory for WP, you have to
a) edit your wp-config.php file to specify the memory
b) specify max RAM in your hosting php.ini setup
(you need to do BOTH)
For best speed, you need to set proper gzip compression, set TTL settings, minimize external element loading (e.g., Jetpack, ads, etc.)
Note there are some resources here to help:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/
hope that helps! It’s a process we all end up learning at some point — so be patient, read a lot, and then soldier on ! 🙂
Hello damianvadone,
If you want to add more ads, it is necessary to create another custom ad (custom ad 6, custom ad 7, etc). Please follow the steps in the topic to create another custom ad: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/create-additional-custom-ads/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
im using a subdomain as my cdn
light box images doesn’t work for any images except featured image i don’t know why
Another problem is Google Adsense formatting, i like to customize ads on my own way, adding a button to disable Adsense formatting is a good idea
Hello,
The theme was built to work with adsense or custom ads using this method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads/ but i do not think it will work with the doubleclick ad.
In this case you have 2 ways to go about it. You can either use an ad render plugin like adroate for example (not sure which one will work best with doubleclick)
Or you can follow this topic and try out the method posted here by one of our users: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-responsive-ads-with-google-dfp/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello LeagueOne,
Unfortunately, our theme does not control the ad code but only displays it. For more details about your google ads, please contact the Google Adsense because they will be able to provide a more accurate response about the structure of the code. For example, our Google Adsense is opening in new window without other modification.
If you want to have others ads you have to add the target="_blank" attribute to the anchor tag container of the ad you want to open in a new window, just like this attributes are added to the image banner div’s from, like so:
<div class="td-visible-desktop">
<a href="#"><img width="728" height="90" src="" /></a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-tablet-l">
<a href="#"><img width="468" height="60" src="" /></a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-tablet-tp">
<a href="#"><img width="468" height="60" src="" /></a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-phone">
<a href="#"><img width="300" height="250" src="" /></a>
</div>
Here is an example of how this should look:
Example:
<div class="td-visible-desktop">
<a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">
<img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ads-728.jpg">
</a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-tablet-l">
<a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">
<img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ads-468.jpg">
</a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-tablet-tp">
<a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">
<img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ads-468.jpg">
</a>
</div>
<div class="td-visible-phone">
<a href="http://google.com" target="_blank">
<img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ads-300.jpg">
</a>
</div>
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello,
Our theme supports all kinds of ads. The theme was built to work more easily with adsense, but any other ads can be used by using this method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads/
So the ad you showed above is possible if you have the correct ad provider and if you use the div’s provided by the theme.
Thank you!
