I just checked your website but this do not display the thumb it is displaying the original image but resized – https://i.imgur.com/Nr2U2mv.png so there was a problem with regenerating the images. I will recommend trying more regenerate plugins. Also, if you want we can take a look at it, just let us know!

Hello. My website now displays the thumbnails in inconsistent sizes – each image is different. I tried the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, I tried the Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin – to no avail.
See example here – the home page uses Block 11 but images are not neatly cropped. The source images are sufficiently big – usually around 1600 pixels on the wide side.
This forum has several posts mentioning the same issue but the solution points to a non-existing page. Please help.

I found a solution for my site. I have found that I have pictures with a resolution of 1024x included in most of the posts. I go to settings—>media and set Large pictures to be max width 500x and max height 500. After that, I ran this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ and now errors in webmaster tools disappeared. I hope this helps 🙂

The plugin Regenerate Thumbnails does not regenerate size 265 x 198 Module M1 (Mobile Theme) and 741 x 486 Big Grid (Mobile Theme).
Because of this, on AMP related articles use full image size, instead of 265 x 198 Module M1 and same full image in Big Grid.
*265 x 198 Module M1 (Mobile Theme) and 741 x 486 Big Grid (Mobile Theme) works fine on upload of image.
*Regenerate Thumbnails works for all other sizes, except for Mobile Theme sizes.
– Looks like Regenerate Thumbnails plugin doesn’t “see” Mobile sizes.

I installed the Regenerate thumbs plugin, ran it 100% completion on 1318 images, cleared and preloaded cache, and cleared the browser, problem is still there on all static images on the website – you can test again with the above URL to my site.
I received a support response from EWWW who don’t believe its any residual data on their end but had a couple of suggestion (that aren’t clear to me) and seems to think there is something else, theme, or plugin causing Lazy Load to occur simultaneously with WP Rocket? I’m running out of ideas!

Looks like I needed to Regenerate Thumbnails using a Plugin. I am doing it slowly because this is a huge site with a ton of images and traffic, so thanks again.

Hello. I edited my default thumbnail settings in the panel. With the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin I was able to see all the thumbnails that get generated for my site:
thumbnail: 150×100 pixels (proportionally resized to fit inside dimensions)
medium: 300×300 pixels (proportionally resized to fit inside dimensions)
medium_large: 768×0 pixels (proportionally resized to fit inside dimensions)
large: 0×0 pixels (proportionally resized to fit inside dimensions)
1536×1536: 1536×1536 pixels (proportionally resized to fit inside dimensions)
2048×2048: 2048×2048 pixels (proportionally resized to fit inside dimensions)
td_150x0: 150×0 pixels (cropped to fit)
td_218x150: 218×150 pixels (cropped to fit)
td_300x0: 300×0 pixels (cropped to fit)
td_324x400: 324×400 pixels (cropped to fit)
td_485x360: 485×360 pixels (cropped to fit)
td_696x0: 696×0 pixels (cropped to fit)
the td_ are all thumbnails that I selected in the Newspaper theme panel. The medium and medium_large (I set the large to 0) are default WordPress.
1-) My question is do I have a need of the medium and medium_large default WordPress thumbnails with the Newspaper theme or are they taking up unnecessary space?
2-) Also, do the following thumbnails belong to Newspaper?
1536×1536: 1536×1536 pixels (proportionally resized to fit inside dimensions)
2048×2048: 2048×2048 pixels (proportionally resized to fit inside dimensions)
I don’t recall setting them anywhere. I believe they will not get used because none of my images are this large (as I understand, thumbnails size down only), but I am curious where I could disable them. They are not default WordPress and do not have the td_ prefix.

You can disable the thumbs you are not using. Set up your thumbs from Newspaper -> Theme panel -> Block settings -> Thumbs on modules/blocks. If you deactivate a dimension from there, next time when you will upload an image, it will not be resized to that dimension.
After changing the thumbnail sizes you need to regenerate your thumbnails using a plugin. Check this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/
NOTE: If the thumb specific for that block is not enabled, then the image won’t be displayed.

Thanks for thinking with us. I can think of a solution on this:
From the WP Menu -> Tools -> Regenerate thumbnails is an existing function that is fed by the image dimensions that are defined in Newspaper. Would it be a great idea to not only regenerate, but also check if the image, that will be regenerated, is actually linked to a page or post? If not, we then can opt to delete the applicable image thumbnails to be deleted instead of being regenerated, thus leaving only the original image existing and available in the Media folder.
Anyone interested in developing this great function with us? I am not a programmer, but I think there might be an opportunity using WP-CLI to do this! @ https://wp-cli.org/

Yes I mentioned I have use that regenerate plugin
The problem is not the old image but the new one after I use this theme got this problem.
When I see the source code I notice that some use the image with 600X388 but the second photo using the original size image 900×600
That’s why I think look sharp
The other thumb size image being used in the big Grid but it’s sharp. Only in the block 5 have this issue, it use the 600×388 size but this size during generated it’s not sharp like others thumb

As can see here in the section on sports photography the image is not sharp, especially using iPhone
The first image using the 600×388 size
The second image using the 900×600 ( original size )
I’m not sure why using the 600×388 and the other using the original size.
The one using 600×388 is the new post that I created using this theme.
The original size of the post has been created long back ago.

As I try to regenerate the image using the recommended plugin but it did not work.

On my site https://www.themaverickparadox.com many of the images are not showing. (Refresh the page to see what I mean).

It looks like it’s not the LiteSpeed plugin, because the thumbnails still aren’t being displayed when I deactivate the plugin.
I have also installed Regenerate Thumbnails, but with no success.
I have deactivated all plugins to detect a conflict, but with no success.
I have turned off the Theme Lazy Load, but no success.
However, when I check the console for the YouTube video thumbnails that are being displayed and the others that are not, I find something :

1. For the size of the images you have, you have perfectly selected the thumbs to use – https://i.imgur.com/UM6OgFa.png They work like this after they are activated in the theme panel, these thumbs are created for each image that is loaded in the media, now the problem is with the ones that are already loaded, for these, you have to use a regeneration plugin that should resolve the problem with the retina resolution.
Normally when you select that thumb, for example, 696×0, the thumb with the size 696xauto and retina size will be used instead of the original image.
2. You should use the retina option for all 3 sizes of thumbs you use, this way you will get the best result on both windows and retina (don’t forget to regenerate the images if these options were not selected from the beginning, i.e. before adding the images to the media, and when regenerating select delete all thumbs and regenerate new ones).
3. When you edit the flex element with tagDiv Composer you have the option to select the size of the thumb, as a suggestion I recommended using a middle size because it cannot be adjusted per viewport, it can only be changed if you use the mobile page template.
Also, if the retina thumb is selected in the theme panel and the image has been regenerated, when you select, for example, the 696×0 thumb on windows, the retina thumb corresponding to the 696×0 thumb will be automatically used when a retina device is used.
4. Unfortunately here I can not suggest the best of all with the theme, but a plugin that is ok with the theme is EWWW Image Optimizer , but I have seen many users who also use Smush and Imagify.

As you can see here there is no thumb https://i.imgur.com/tekvFb6.png, here is a thumb https://i.imgur.com/EpcLtSz.png I think that you have used the option to optimize the images, and that is why there is no thumb, you can try to regenerate, but the problem is caused by the settings from this plugin.
The object file will be generated automatically after, so you can delete it.
