Hello,

You will have to be careful when modifying the theme files as it will affect other parts of your website as well. For example, in your case with the thumbnail modification, it will enlarge the thumbnail on every module that uses the thumbnail. You will be better off using another block as Alin suggested ( block 5 or 6 ).
If you really need to modify the files, you will have to regenerate your thumbnails after every modification. Only after that you will see the results. Right now the theme is using the thumbs which were created using the default parameters before your modification.
As for the title, Alin showed you how to edit the title from the SEO plugin: http://screencast.com/t/npRnXROk

I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hi,

@CursoDeEcommerce
Please regenerate thumbnails using this plugin – https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Also please note that the featured image must be at least thumb size used on modules/blocks – https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/

@Chris
Thanks for your help. We try to improve the documentation, but the “how to fix image sizes” tutorial exist(I provided the link above). It is in the tips an tricks tutorials for both themes. We still have a lot to work at theme’s documentation.

Thanks!

Did you regenerate your thumbnails ?

Used to be an item in the docs about that but I don’t see it.

Basically you need the thumbnails generated on older images to fit those box sizes; where new thumbs are sized and cropped to fit those dimensions.

I use the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin; but some people have odd or different server setups from mine (Apache/Linux/Plesk); those folks have ended up having to use one called “force regenerate plugins”.

Also note that WP cannot enlarge images to fit any size, so in those cases you would want to added the “thumbnail upscale” plugin.

All of those are free in the WordPress.org repository.

Hello,

Please understand that the modification you made to the website could impact the thumbnails as well.
You can try to regenerate your thumbs. You can use the force regenerate plugin as it also deletes old thumbs.
You can also try the thumbnail upscale plugin.

Let us know how it goes!
Thank you!

Hello,

I have checked your website and saw you have modified the layout of the theme to be full width. Normally i would suggest you regenerate the thumbnails but i’m not sure it will help in your case. You will have to make sure your images are big enough to fit the container size.
For exapmle this image here: http://screencast.com/t/B2ct9Skm has a size of 356×364. The container around it on the other hand has a size of 634×364. Please upload bigger images so both image dimensions are bigger than the container.
If you cannot upload bigger images, you can use the thumbnail upscale plugin to stretch your images.

Thank you!

UPDATE

Ok so I went for lunch came back and checked the code again. Regenerated the tags and now it works…

Consider this as solved.

Thanks.

Hi,

This is weird I have checked your site again and now I see the issue. This usually happens when loading the font file (which contains those icons) from another host/url – http://screencast.com/t/EwXi2meDB
Normally by adding this code in .htaccess file should solve this issue(clear cache and purge your files after that):

<FilesMatch "\.(ttf|otf|eot|woff|svg)$">
 <IfModule mod_headers.c>
 Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*"
 </IfModule>
</FilesMatch>

If this doesn’t work please try to regenerate the newspaper fonts then empty cache/purge files again and let me know if this issue persists.
You can try to regenerate fonts like this:

1. go to https://icomoon.io/app
2. button “import icons”, import from newsmag.svg (in /images/icons/),
3. select all icons;
4. button “generate font”, button “download”;
5. copy the 4 files (.eot, .svg .ttf .woff), in “fonts” folder in the downloaded zip file, rename icomoon.* to newsmag.*, replace old files, done.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Unfortunately the theme has no option to delete unused thumbs. You can chose which thumb will be generated by the theme here: http://screencast.com/t/bj4h3mW9cgBw, but this does not delete already generated ones. There are 2 ways you can do this. After you select which thumbs you need from the theme panel, either access your files via ftp and manually delete unused thumbs (or all of them and regenerate again), or you can try to use the force regenerate plugin which will also delete the existing thumbs before replacing them with the new ones.

Let us know how it goes
Thank you!

Thanks Chris!

@XS22
Here is how you can regenerate them: https://forum.tagdiv.com/existing-content/ however I doubt this will solve your issues as thumbs are used on modules and blocks, not on pages and you use visual composer’s page builder there, the css code should work. I’ve also replied you via email so please give me a working user there and I’ll take a closer look at this.

Thanks!

Did you try to regenerate all your thumbs for new sizes ?

Hi Thibault,

If you did theme update to the new version, you have to regenerate the thumbnails for all your images. Please try the guide below to regenerate it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/ Then, please clear all caches and test again. You should to regenerate it because the new version has other thumbnails and your image have to be re-sized.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks!

Hello,

Please make sure you did not change anything else. Normally block 18 should not be affected by your change. Try to revert your change and see if the thumbnail for other videos has the same problem. (you will need to regenerate thumbs again.)

Let us know how it goes.Thank you!

Hello,

We are not aware of such modification in the near future. We cannot modify the current thumbnail in our theme because it will cause lots of problems for users when they update. (people have thousands of images that will require regenerating thumbs) Only by adding new block elements that use a different thumb will this be achievable, but this as well is not on our priority list. We cannot say for sure what the future will bring.
You can modify a thumbnail on your end if you need this size: You can find the thumbnail sizes in td_config.php: http://screencast.com/t/uk2vAnc7d
The closest thumb to the size you suggested is the one used for module 1 and 2, block 2, 3 and 4 and big grid 2.
You can edit this file and change the dimension to the specified one. You will need to regenerate your thumbs for the modification to apply.

Thank you!

1. No, have not change any CSS for line height issues,. I think you have resized your browser to check the line height issues. Please use mobile device to regenerate the issue or check this page mobile device screenshot http://i.imgur.com/zkj68gT.png

or run the page test

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wpdiv.com%2F&tab=mobile

You might noticed the same issue regenerated in screenshot http://prntscr.com/8zav0a

(Note : The screenshot i have attached here http://i.imgur.com/zkj68gT.png grabbed through my smartphone.)

2. Ok, let me use the JPEG image for logo. Thanks to notify.

Hello,

The options from the theme panel specifies exactly on which module and block it is used.
The option from the theme panel simply tells the theme where to use and where not to use images. It does not delete them from the folders. Luckily there is a plugin that does that. It is called ‘Force Regenerate’ and you can use it after you set the options in the theme panel to regenerate your thumbs and it will also delete the images that are not used.

I hope this helps
Thank you!

Hi,

It seems that the thumbnails are not generated, please check if you have GD Library installed, wordpress requires it for cropping. You can see it in your Cpanel. If not, contact your hosting provider. Also that you have writing permissions on /wp-content/uploads and also check your /uploads folder and see if the thumbs are created. Then try to regenerate again your thumbnails, you could try also the Force Regenerate plugin.
Regarding the Grid issue – http://screencast.com/t/4xF3c9fSt please switch to the main theme and see if you still have this issue. If this solve your issue you will have to update the child theme as you use old version. You can find it in the /code folder from theme files that you download from themeforest – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/

Thanks!

Hi Alin,

Thanks. I followed your advise, disabled Photon and also removed our CDN.
I also removed the custom CSS I used to fix the issue. Also regenerated all thumbnails.

To no avail. The grey border persists (it looks even worse now) and the top grid is broken.

What am I missing? I’m using the system out-of-the-box!

Best regards,

Hi,

For the grey border on images, please disable Jetpack Photon feature as the theme works based on the same system (creates and serves/uses thumbnails for each uploaded image). We don’t recommend using that photon module as it tends to create issues sometimes so we suggest you disable it. Or if you use CDN try to disable it.
All the issues related to the thumbs on Big Grid or other blocks/modules should be solved if you disable this feature and regenerate thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/

Thanks!

Hi all,

I’m experiencing a problem on my website. Images don’t show when opening posts. Everything seems to run fine on the homepage but clicking on any 2nd level page the images (9 times out of 10) won’t show.

I have the plugin “regenerate thumbnails”, i thought that might be the one causing the problem but even after deactivating it the situation didn’t improve.

The website is http://www.dronesjuice.com

Please helpl me sort this out.

Thanks

Alessandro

Hi,

Please test this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, remove also any custom modifications, like this image that can affect your test. Please test an article from our demo and see if works. We use only the recommended plugins.
Here you can find all the thumbs used by the theme including the featured image size – http://screencast.com/t/vMglIyJrQ
If you want to change this or add a new thumb size you will have to edit the td_config.php file – http://screencast.com/t/ylE0NAKMzG and here is used on default post template – http://screencast.com/t/3qEXetvMDH7
If you make any changes you will have to regenerate thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/existing-content/
You can find more details here(it is from newsmag docs, but it is the same also for newspaper) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/image-size/
I have also checked you site on Ipad Mini and the page is loading. Please provide more details about the issue you have.

Thanks!

Hi

The settings > media section controls the individual images added in post/pages not the images displayed in blocks and modules. Those images/thumbs are generated by the theme and according with the layout a specific thumb will be displayed. The configuration you provided is right you can leave it like that, try regenerate the thumbs then test again.

Thanks!

Hello,

Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and check again. If it’s not a conflicting plugin, you can try to regenerate your thumbs by using force regenerate plugin.
Let us know if the problem is still there after you try these solutions.

Thank you!

Hi,
Thank you for your idiot based explanation but it didn’t help really.

All customizations are based on child theme and custom CSS only.
Regarding plugins, here is the complete list. I don’t think I am using any fantasy plugins – they are all what we are using in many of our projects.

I don’t really know how disabling plugins will help as this is not something we can observe before it happens.
If we disable plugins AND wait if it will happen again, we will not have a working site, this is not a useful solution, sorry.

So, my question is, do you foresee any reasons why it could have happened based on the plugin and theme combination?
