Did you test your pages with F12 to see if errors?

Google did start some big changes in August, moving stuff around, converting a lot of properties to mobile first (e.g., Google news undergoing transition to mobile first view even on desktop).

There was also update to the Automattic AMP plugin last month if using that, so change might have impacted something.

Also, as I understand it, not all pages get served as AMP versions by default since technically I think there is some usability threshold for it to get cached fully on Google’s edge CDN — but things change so much over there, hard to say.

Hello,

I’m having a little problem, Google Webmaster Tools and the browser reports me an internal error 500 for the theme’s folder URL (/wp-content/themes/Newspaper). How can i fix it?

Furthermore i have noticed that in the last update 8.1 of Newspaper is missing an important file (themes/Newspaper/mobile/js/tagdiv_theme.js) that is needed to make work the mobile top menu bar. I’m actually using the file of Newspaper version 8.0.

Thanks in advance.

For some reason, out of the blue, every article I write has a big space, between lets say a photo and the next block of copy, or a H1 tag and the next block of copy. The gap is massive. It looks like I have hit return a silly amount of times before continuing writing. I have tried everything to get rid of it. It seems to have appeared since the last update. Can anyone help me close this gap. It is making the articles look super messy, take a look: The Problem

My site http://scumbagged.com has an issue. I cannot update the footer content. That goes where footer 1, 2 & 3 is on the widget. The widget is excessible and I can add and drop things into footer 1, 2, & 3 but the changes don’t show. Everything stays the same with the “even more news” and “popular categories”. What’s going on? I’ve searched everywhere on my site to change this content and cannot find any of it.

Again another mystery is on the mainpage of my site where it says “Recent Articles” towards the bottom, I cannot find where to even edit this at… It’s not on the homepage where I go to edit it and that’s where I thought I would find it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,

I have updated the theme to 8.1 and a bug appeared in tagDiv Slide Gallery.

Thumbnails in the bottom row appear oversized – that is, image they contain grows way beyond proportions and other thumbnails don’t appear because of this.

Here’s the screenshot: https://s26.postimg.org/hebt9516x/Screenshot-2017-09-01-23.12.jpg
And you can see it live here: http://drava.info/2016/11/foto-suncana-topla-kasna-jesen/

Funny thing is, some of the galleries still work fine and I can’t figure out why. Here’s one that works fine: http://drava.info/2016/12/foto-pogled-s-kalnika-nocas-je-bio-spektakularan/

I guess I could fix it up with some CSS hack but I’m curious about the cause. Thought you might want to look it up.

I haven’t migrated to tD Composer yet so it’s inactive at the moment.

Hello janamtrup,

Make sure that your update has been right made via FTP way and also if you are using more untested plugins, please remove all of these and leave just required and use only tested plugins with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello amarjano,

Sorry for this inconvenient but please notice that our theme does not have any plan to implement this in near future updates, sorry! I have passed this functionality to our list of improvements but we cannot say for sure when this would be implemented.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello Eloel,

Unfortunately, I do not know what do you have made with your theme because all of a sudden it can not happen to lose everything. Most likely, this issues happens due to your bad configuration or something like that, sorry! Before each change or update, we recommend doing a full backup to your database.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello Nano,

Write a simple plugin for functions.php, and add your custom codes there. The plugin will auto put your custom code to the both main and mobile theme’s functions.php. So whenever you update the theme, you don’t need to edit functions.php file.

For style.css, you can use theme panel to add custom codes. You can force write the rule by adding an important tag.

For fonts, it seems you’re using Poppins bold for headlines and the default fonts for the rest of the site. You can create own.woff file for the Poppins bolt and use it with custom fonts file option in the theme panel.

Hope this will help you.
All the best

Hi,

I have recently updated this theme to version 4, in all of my page where I used Visual composer “single image” block with setting of “feature image”, the feature image no longer shows up. Is this is a bug with the new theme version? It was working before the upgrade. I have feature image set for that post as well.

Note. I do not use the ‘feature image’ feature in the theme, as I need to have better control on placement of feature image on the page.

Why do not you add more options for the titles? The other template has more options and that’s great. I hope they add more options in the next updates, when I enter a cell phone the bottoms of the titles look very short, they should make it occupy the full screen.

Hi.

I understand how to create a new homepage for tagDiv Composer. But what is the best way to do the same for regular pages who already exist ? Must I have to create a new page, delete the old one, change the title of the new one so it can use the same URL ? Or is there a best way ? Thanks.

Hi,

In Newspaper 8 the tagDiv composer was introduced
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
This plugin is activated automatically when the theme is installed or updated to this version. In some cases having both Visual composer and tagDiv composer active, can create layout issues. Please try to deactivate this composer after making the update
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Also if you have a child theme try switching to the main theme, as the code used in the child theme might need adjustments.

Thanks

Hi,

There are 2 page editors provided at the moment in the theme package
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
The recommend composer to be used, is the tagDiv composer. In future theme updates, there will be more options and elements added exclusively for it.
Other composers are not tested with the theme or theme plugins, and may not work properly.
You could try to remove the page title with this simple CSS code

.td-page-title {
display: none;
}

Thanks

Hi,

You could use a child theme, if the files you are modifying are supported to be customized through it
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
If the files are not supported, then you will probably have to make them again, after a theme update.

Thanks

Hi @Lordemma,

Okay – Solution found (for me anyway). This was the specific issue in my case, though it may not be specific to your issues. I also had some other peripheral issues that were specific to the use of SSL on my site, which were mitigated by ensuring that I had “https” set in the Settings->General->Wordpress URL settings in the WP Dashboard (you might like to look into this if you have other issues with the TAGDiv composer showing blank pages).

In all cases – with respect to the saving loop – my issues were all related to the “.user.ini” file.

The problem with the Saving Loop was actually with WordFence (in my case), which is not installed as a plugin in this particular case, but in another installation on the same host, which was installed in the default “public_html” directory. This installation of WP is in a subdirectory, but the “.user.ini” file which is created in the default “public_html” directory overrides things.

In all cases, WordFence adds the following to the “.user.ini” file:

; Wordfence WAF
auto_prepend_file = ‘/public_html/wordfence-waf.php’
; END Wordfence WAF

Removing this, solved the issue.

Of course, it will create other issues for the site that uses WordFence, but I will have to resolve that another way.

For now, and in case anyone else may have run into similar issues – this is the solution that worked for me.

I suppose it makes an argument for putting all WP installations into their own subdirectories. For whatever reason, the original installation of the main domain in this case, was installed in the PUBLIC_HTML directory by default, and this was the source of the issue.

Hope this might help anyone with a similar issue.

*update*

If you are using WordFence – you can check to ensure your ‘Whitelist’ IP addresses and so forth to ensure your WordFence installation is not blocking your access.

@lordemma
– I spent a very long time trying multiple solutions to this problem, so if you haven’t solved it yet, let me know, as perhaps some of things I experienced and have gone through can be of assistance to you in solving your issue.
