Hello,
I updated to version 8 and there is a problem of responsiveness on the mobile. The size of the image is not good.
And even on the desktop version, is not quite as it used to be.
Thank you.
TagDiv will not say anything because it is true. I have tested it and when I removed SSL, the TagDiv composer stopped working, when I re-activated it, it was just fine. So that’s the truth. Also, this updated version has a lot of imperfections as thousands of people are affected. Everywhere you turn to it’s the same ugly complaint. Also, this theme does not allow you to import the type of block or grid that you would want to, or the type of slide that you would want to. There are many many things missing or many areas not affected by this updated version. It’s a tough task.
Hi,
thanks for the explanation. It seems easy, but for some reason it isn’t working on my side.
I followed exactly your instructions, but the language doesn’t change.
As for the twitter button – I would like to remove the twitter button and tried with removing the following code from the same file:
$buffy .= ‘<li class=”td-classic-twitter”>’;
$buffy .= ‘href) . ‘” data-text=”‘ . $this->title . ‘” data-via=”‘ . td_util::get_option(‘tds_’ . ‘social_twitter’) . ‘” data-lang=”en”>tweet <script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=”//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js”;fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,”script”,”twitter-wjs”);</script>’;
$buffy .= ‘‘;
But the button isn’t disappearing.
Note: I’m talking about the buttons at the end of the post pages, not under the title.
This is the only cache that I’m seeing in my page source code (I don’t use a caching plugin):
var tdLocalCache = {};
( function () {
“use strict”;
tdLocalCache = {
data: {},
remove: function (resource_id) {
delete tdLocalCache.data[resource_id];
},
exist: function (resource_id) {
return tdLocalCache.data.hasOwnProperty(resource_id) && tdLocalCache.data[resource_id] !== null;
},
get: function (resource_id) {
return tdLocalCache.data[resource_id];
},
set: function (resource_id, cachedData) {
tdLocalCache.remove(resource_id);
tdLocalCache.data[resource_id] = cachedData;
}
};
})();
And finally, is this theme update safe solution? Will it remain after theme update?
Thanks for all your time and support! Much appreciated!
Hi Seeking…
yes I get the ssl thing…
Ok that’s ridiculous, how many of us are SSL?
No commerce on my site so no need for it – where is this in the tutorials etc?
How can tagdiv possible justify making this move without an absolutely clear statement before people updated to Newpaper8?
Why has no-one from tagdiv agreed/denied with your statement since you brought this up?
Chris S do you have view here on this? And please don’t say ‘You should be SSL for SEO’ because that’s not the case yet at all…
Hi,
Yes you should go ahead and ignore that activation message. There is no need to activate the Visual composer plugin with a key. You can use all the features available in the version provided in the theme package. More about this here
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thanks
Hi,
This is a strange problem. A theme re-install should resolve the problem but it seems the issue has been carried along. Please use this method to make a fresh install
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Also deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin from the plugins section and leave only Visual composer active, the tagDiv editor is activated from the moment you updated the theme.
If you are using a child theme switch to the main theme, also check or remove any custom code you might have entered in the theme panel custom code sections.
If after you install the theme as mentioned and following all the advice, the issue is not resolved, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a look. Also paste a link to this topic in your email.
Thanks
Hi,
Please try and deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin from the plugins section and clear any caching installed. This editor was activated the moment you updated the theme. Then check to see if the page is displaying properly. More information here

Hello DaveS,
This code should not have any link with the new theme update. Probably, you have chosen the category ID and that’s why the code does not work. Try to use it to be a general rule and check the results.
.td-g-rec-id-content_inline {display: none !important;}
Notice that the td-g-rec class refers to Google AdSense code. If you are using other ads, you should use the td-a-rec.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the message!
Hello yachtsailingcharter,
Sorry for the inconvenience but in this update, was been made some adjustments at the theme activation system and that could be the reason in this case. Try to re-download the theme from Theme Forest and activate again your theme by your item purchase code. Notice that the Item Purchase Code is unique!
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
I don’t understand why you would like the previous version. There is nothing different in this matter between the theme versions. The example provided above is perfectly achievable in both the theme versions, using Visual composer or the front-end tagDiv composer as well.
However, it would be best if you would create your pages with the new composer, in future theme updates more options will be available just for this editor.
Please try the steps as described and you will achieve the same result easily. It is not hard to use the tagDiv composer, once you get used to it.
If you could tell me what exactly does not work, I will try and help you.
Thanks
Hello,
If you have problems with the tagdiv composer please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and we will look into it.
We are aware of an issue for the moment with the composer and that is caused by this setting of seo yoast: https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh
The option is known to cause problems with the tagdiv composer.
If you have trouble using the builder please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/ and this one: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
And we are not forcing anyone to use it though. You can still use visual composer if you feel the new page builder is not for you. We will still provide visual composer as well as updates for it, so it can still be used. We will not release new content for visual composer but that does not mean it will not work anymore.
As for the revolution slider, I’m not sure why you say it will not work as it works as expected for us and is present among the page builder elements: https://www.screencast.com/t/sFZ5yFhE
Other plugins that do not have a predefined elements can be added to the page using the shortcode implementation.
Thank you!
Hi,
Unfortunately there is no option in the theme for this, and modifications to the theme files may not work properly in future updates. Something similar is the Related articles section that is displayed after the posts
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/related-articles/
If you plan on updating to version 8 and tagDiv composer, this editor is not available for posts. Maybe you can find a plugin that might have the capability to insert that section in the post content.
Thanks
Hi,
If you have previously created sidebars containing widgets, you can use a Widget sidebar element on the page
– https://www.screencast.com/t/iZJmS7RJ
Or you can simply split the row and add content to the sidebar area
– https://www.screencast.com/t/OV8gwtjJ
At the moment there is no search element that you can place on the pages. More elements will be added to the tagDiv composer in future updates, but I could not say for sure when this will be available.
Thanks
The following message is displayed on the dashboard.
Hola! Would you like to receive automatic updates and unlock premium support? Please activate your copy of Visual Composer.

I clicked “activate your copy”, the following will be displayed.
http://fightersspirits.sakura.ne.jp/047.jpg

Should I ignore to it.
Visual Composer can be used without problems.
Hi,
Thanks for the update.
Hi,
You could change the language of the like button like this. This is the file where you will need to make modifications
– https://www.screencast.com/t/l3g0C0DFKWiJ
Please edit the code exactly like in the screenshot below
– https://www.screencast.com/t/pFafGOWdftc
With this result – https://www.screencast.com/t/k9wI7tQx
For the tweet button I don’t understand exactly what you want to do. If you have a code for a different social button the only way to insert it would be to place it in that file
– https://www.screencast.com/t/h17gEWzyN
There you can see how the Facebook and Tweeter buttons are implemented.
At the moment there are no default options to add more socials in the post sharing. More options may be added in future theme updates regarding this.
Thanks
Hi,
I have several questions about how to change the layout at the bottom section of the homepage (my web site URL: http://www.badmintonplanet.com).
1. How to update section A and section B as shown in attached video-example2.jpg to look like video-example3.jpg.
2. How to section B as shown in attached video-example2.jpg to look like areas circled with red rectangle in attached video-example1.jpg
Hello!
We recently purchased the Newspaper theme & downloaded the Travel Guide demo with content.
We are trying to update the banner.jpg at the top of the front page with an image of our own, but I cannot figure out where to go to do this.
Please let us know how we can replace this header image with an image of our own.
Thank you!
Hi,
I have tried to update the loop-single.php by adding this code
<?php the_time(‘F j, Y g:i:s a’) ?>
after
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_date(false);?>
Is there any get_time(false) type of code that I can use to have the time displayed in the post ?
Or can you tell me what theme core file should be updating for this matter?
Thanks
KSangoyah
Hello guys,
After updating to Newspaper 8 my frontpage isn’t the same anymore. The image in the box does not load.
I use the Newspaper Travel demo. Maybe someone can supply me with the original frontpage from that demo? I don’t want to remove and reinstall the demo…
Thanks in advance.
Freek
Per your earlier advice which read:
“This should be addressed to http://openweathermap.org/.
We are a theme developer not a weather station. We only pull information from that site into our theme, but we have no control over the weather predictions.”
—
Even though I do not care about forecasted predictions as much as the current temperature, I did as you advised, contacted them, and received this response:
“Thanks a lot for such detailed information. However, we do not develop weather widgets for WordPress. We just provide data for it.
I think it would be better to ask for support its developer. So if there is issues with the data we will contact with the Developer and resolve the issue.”
—
That response from OpenWeatherMap.org makes perfect sense and made me feel a little silly for contacting them. I clearly need information from/about the developer. Which brings me back to the developer of the theme that chose to include this weather element/widget in its theme package (Newspaper 7).
Can you tell me who the developer is for this Weather element? It is in the section of tagDiv elements (blue-shaded) in Visual Composer. If I need to talk to its developer to figure out why it is not updating often enough and why our temperatures are reading up to 15 degrees F off based on infrequent updating of up to a few hours, how can I contact them? It is just too slow to display new temp data and is therefore never accurate (or even close). Here are some new facts learned on my end:
The temp at OpenWeatherMap DOES NOT MATCH my temp in the following way: The temperature is either hotter or colder based on the time of day. It reads much cooler when the temp is climbing early in the day and it reads much warmer the other half of the time when temps are falling. The reason appears simple. It has simply not updated to the latest temp at any given point in time except when it does so at VERY lengthy intervals ranging up to 3 hours or more.
Further:
At any point, if I click on the GPS icon and do nothing more than type in my city (exactly the way it was typed already) and hit ENTER on my keyboard … the temperature automatically adjusts itself to the accurate current temp. But if I refresh the page, it immediately changes back to the inaccurate temp.
Can you help me with the details about the developer of the weather element that I’ve requested? Are you the developer, do you know who the dev is? Why would you tell me to contact the data provider rather than get in touch with the developer. Do you agree with what the data provider said in his response?
We are still trying to salvage this otherwise elegant widget/element on a new site. It is clearly capable of displaying the correct temperature, but can only do so once every few hours when it “phones home” to get the data, instead of every few minutes. In the meantime, our temp looks non-credible.
Firebox is behaving exactly the same as Chrome and displaying disparate temperatures at the same lag. The manual GPS entry method mentioned above results in the exact same thing in Firefox as Chrome.
Thanks for your help.
Hi, another update while I am waiting for an answer. I do not have any custom code on my sites, and am not running a child’s them.
Hi guys,
I minified the theme’s style.css but didn’t minify the child theme’s style.css which contains almost nothing. Since then this last suggestion stopped working for some reason.
The following line of code is in my theme panel’s custom css field:
article.category-179 div.td-g-rec-id-content_inline {display: none !important;}
but the inline ad loads again.
Can a recent theme update be the reason for this to stop working? Any ideas?
Thanks!
As an update – the issue looks to be in js-composed pages – single image box – the size specifed is not working. If I change it to something new, is not changing at all.
Hi I updated two of my four websites to Newspaper 8 and all the areas in the site that use js-composer are broken. What can I do quickly so I don’t have to remake all my sites!!! For example look at http://gf-verified.com/. Under the slider was an image box with 4 equal boxes of images and text. They are all huge now. PLEASE HELP!!!
