The official list of tested and recommended plugins is found in the theme panel here: https://www.screencast.com/t/gfQeh5sf These are the plugins that were officially tested and compatibility for them is maintained on each theme update, meaning each and every one is tested again on every new theme update and the proper adjustments made to the theme. However this list does not mean that they are the only plugins that will work. You can try the plugin yourself if it’s free of charge. If it’s not, maybe some of our users that have experience with this plugin have some insight.

Ive disabled all the plugins except Visual Composer, Yoast SEO, WP Super Cache, tagDiv Social Counter, and the problem is still here.
I also removed all the ads (im trying everything now), still same thing :/.
Im going to update the theme now, hope it works.

Thank you for the answer. I got the CSS way. I thought there may be an option to hide it in particular category. My blog has 1000s of posts amd it is very difficult to modify all the posts. Please consider this as a request and implement this category based featured image (enable/disable option in theme panel) in the future updates.

Compatibility with php 7.0 was added in newspaper 7.6 so please update your theme using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
As for visual composer, sorry but we are not the plugin author. Compatibility with php 7 must be added by the plugin author as we cannot edit the plugin ourselves. It will break our license agreement with wpbakery.

It should work, just open the page in Visual Composer editor, be sure to save any changes you make to the rows, blocks etc – https://www.screencast.com/t/5ttgjEyyL then click Update – https://www.screencast.com/t/xfZKgHfiaH
If you already did this and it still does not work properly, please follow this tutorial – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ and adjust the parameters as explained because this could be related to exhausted memory used by php.

Revolution slider cannot be updated or activate directly from the plugin author. We only recommend using the version of the plugin we provided in the theme package. We will provide the updates along with the theme updates. You must ignore all the messages about updates and activation of the plugin as the free version does not have an activation code nor can it be updated from the plugin author.

No, the visual composer is not modified. It’s the theme that is modified in order for it to be compatible with the plugin. You can use your own plugin if you have a payed license for it but there is just 1 limitation. When an update is released for the plugin, we need to make the proper adjustments in the theme if something should not work so you should be careful when updating the plugin if we have not made the proper adjustments yet. We only recommend using the version we have tested and implemented in our theme code. Right now it’s version 5.0.1

I just want to let you know that this issue still exists, also with the latest update of Newspaper. In order to reproduce the issue:
Build a page with Visual Composer.
Select 2/3 + 1/3 as column spacing.
Put block 14 to the right side as kind of a sidebar.
Limit post number to 2.
Put another block with title below.
Disable pagination (With pagination it works fine).
Result: 0px space between block 14 post 2 and the title of the next block.
Something that should be investigated for the future.

This should not be the case as in our themes, the sidebar is always on the bottom. There could be a modification made on your site to make it that way or maybe a plugin affects it.
Please update your theme to the latest version (7.6) as I see you use an old version of the theme and test the sidebar again.
