Hello,
I’d like to leave just the facebook sharing button on top and bottom of posts on mobile theme. I’ve managed to do it on desktop theme with css update but same solution doesn’t work on mobile theme – 4 buttons still show up there. Please advice how to hide all except facebook or as last resort – all of them.

Hi, I asked the same thing some time ago. The solution proposed by Simion unfortunately doesn’t show the title of the post, so !SUGGESTION a single image in big grid style would be appreciated in one of the next updates.
For Lynden: I have achieved an acceptable result by using a slider (set to show only one post) and hiding the side arrows with a little of custom css.
This result THOUGH is not optimal on mobile devices, as the image appears slightly different than the big grid images.
I just purchased Newspaper and everything was good when I installed the theme but now Revolution slider is asking me to update but I first have to get premium support. What gives? I thought the theme came with revolution slider. Is this something I will have to work around?
Another update: Its nothing to do with related article not working! Just thumbnails…and maybe some help with what all those errors are? Thanks

Do you use a modified version of VC in here? I have a license so I can update it at anytime not sure if that would break anything or not with this theme. It would certainly get rid of that annoying register your license to get free updates message.

YES, that’s exactly what happened. After I updated, I went to Appearance>themes. The previous default theme was still active and version 7.6 (the updated theme) was showing but had not been activated. So I activated version 7.6 and that’s when all my sidebars were stripped. I had the “Default” demo installed.
NEW QUESTION: So what do I do? I’m going to plod back thru and try to reinstall 14 tedious sidebars, because I’m afraid that using the previous backup might destroy my site. But what’s going to happen when it’s time to update again? How can I avoid this happening again?

Well I’m not sure as we have not tested it. Make another back-up of you current theme and try it out. If it does not work, then simply restore the back-up you made now. One more question. Did you maybe activate a child theme or the main theme after the update. Sidebars are kept separately for each one is the child theme will have it’s own sidebars and the main theme has it’s own sidebars.

What about the popup articles on the right side? When going to the site, the latest article menu pops up and it has annoyed a few readers (can’t please everyone I know) but I would like to know where to shut it off from if you don’t mind. Thanks so much! 🙂
We did have them randomly skip two stories this morning.
This implies one of their periodic updates, such as they are in process of doing with Google Site Search (GSS). So, usually they have some “weirdness” couple of times every year.

We have been having problems with our website, since we went from Newsmag 1.1 to 3.3 in one go (Let’s not even go there), but the thing we couldn’t fix is the view count of articles which stays 0 all the time on articles we have written after the update. When you click on all posts you should see tags, comments, date, views, analytics, SEO per article sorted etc. Views stays 0, even though an article has been very popular.
Is this a known bug when you make a leap forward to 3.3? How to fix this problem?

Install the theme and plugins without problem, and everything worked fine, but after a month functions of the VC plugins stopped working, like the option of “media grip”, “icon”, “carrousel” and others.
Update the theme and continue the same, update the plugins with the latest update available in the folder of the topic and worsen, stopped working completely the VC, in pages that had already designed and new pages.
Selecting items to edit on pages created before the fault is loaded until loading nothing.
What is the problem with the plugins? Or how could you fix it? I need all the functions and something like an already designed gallery located visibly in my page disappeared by the fault and I can not edit it or replace it because it does not work.
Please I need your help, these failures I can not let them pass because I can not work and it alters notoriously my page and its design.
Just thought of something: I backed up the entire theme in Dec 2016 using Xcloner Backup and Restore. If I restored this, would it conflict with the latest theme update? I’m just trying to find a way to restore my 14 sidebars without having to do it manually.
Bogdan, I’m sorry but I’m not a coder so I have no clue what this means. Does this mean it will add back the sidebars I had at first? I’m sorry but I have 14 unique sidebars and it is a chore re-setting them every time I update. Is there a way to update WITHOUT updating everything so I don’t have to keep going back and trying to remember what I had on my sidebars?

Updated today and realised I need to alter some things on the homepage side bar
Open the page, click the pen icon, (this occasion its an ad box with a title I want removing) – delete the text save, close, its now shows its been done on the visual composer – update page the title appears again
It depends if it’s a plugin or a custom implementation. Any at all customization to the theme files will be lost in a theme update. You will have to re-add your customization after the update.

A database back-up only backs up the database, not the theme itself. It should bring back your content the way it was when you updated.

How to update Visual Composer plugin
The theme includes a license for this plugin so you don’t have to buy it.
You don’t have to activate the plugin license, it’s already activated.
You can’t update Visual Composer directly from it’s producer.
You don’t have to worry about the plugin update warnings.
We provide updates on a regular basis, after we test the plugin for theme compatibility we include it in the latest theme update, inside the ../plugins folder
