Hello,
I cannot seem to find the Envato Toolkit to load for two of my newer copies of your theme. I see there is an update released, but I cannot load it, because I cannot find Envato Toolkit, which does the update through the admin panel.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Peter
Always good to check the changelog included with new version of theme update, as that is likely best place to check on “updated for PHP7 compatiblity…”
Also, good to have hosting provider that allows you to chooser PHP 5.6 or 7x from your hosting panel (Plesk, CPanel, etc.), so you can “try” PHP7 and if nothing works, go back to 5.6x.
Also; with Yoast and other major plugins it is always useful on update/install to
a) resave permalinks
b) clear transients with wp-optimize
c) go through ALL the settings panels in Yoast to make sure default settings don’t conflict with your site setup or other plugins which might do the same thing (e.g., if you already have a sitemap creator, don’t turn on the Yoast version; etc.)
I have broken Visual Composer in the backend after update.
Here’s the console message Uncaught ReferenceError: tdUpdateAvailable is not defined at HTMLDocument.td_theme_update (td_wp_admin.js:40)
The issue was promptly resolved thanks to an updated provide by AdRotate.
Hello,
that’s weird because I updated already yesterday and it says it was the latest version… So I can’t rely on the update center in WordPress right? Is there another way to automatically inform me about theme updates?
No I mean just the line breaks which are caused with the <br> tagg. The white speace between different paragraphs.
I just find out, that the problem is caused by a plugin after all… So I can handle it somehow…
But with the update I have some NEW problems… Now the menue isn’t sticky anymore, the comment counter is back and most of my pictures are gone because you don’t gave us the latest version of Visual Composer…
Best regards
Hello,
Yes, I have updated the theme. What shall I do now to get back that feature?
With thanks,
srampia
Hello srampia,
Do you have updated the theme? If so, notice that it is probably that your customization was lost due to the theme update has overwritten the file which you have changed.
If is not what you mean, provide more details, some useful screenshots for a better understanding.
Thanks for the message!
Hello Satsuki,
I have inspected your website and I notice that you are using the Newsmag 2.3.6 which is not the latest version of it, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/sPtUNmtc18cm First of all, you should update your theme via FTP. Clear all your caches and check the results. I guess that you are referring to these borders -> http://screencast.com/t/AU1eJuQ5sO7w which are present in Newsmag theme? Please check your theme panel at Theme color->Grid Line Color to have a valid color, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/npNIngoMrta
If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thanks for the message!
Hello nico,
Thank you for your report. We will make some further investigation in this regard and if we will find some errors we will consider to fix it in future updates. You can try to change that link with the minified version, like this -> https://cdnjs.com/libraries/html5shiv/#
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the message!
Also, there’s a new update for the Rev Slider plugin which is not included in the download package. I can’t update it through the plugin section because it’s not activated (plugin included with theme has to be updated locally)
Is there documentation allowing implementation of v 7.6 from 7.5 file by file and code by code so that a complete install is not required. Many of us have modified files to meet our specific needs (mainly .css) and do not wish to overwrite files and lose the customization. Thank you.
Hi, i see it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/setting-up-child-theme/#post-139087
Yes, we need update also the child theme but it’s 3 files:
– functions.php
– screenshot.png
– style.css
What in detail need to be update?
Thanks!
Hello,
yes as I said I updated the last version of the theme and the latest wordpress version. That’s when my problems began…
Here is the website: http://bento-daisuki.de.
As you can see for example here http://bento-daisuki.de/bento/bento-arten-689/ there are no line breaks, no gaps at all in my text anymore! There should be one before each bold name…
Thanks for your help.
Hello Satsuki,
First of all, please ensure that you have right updated your theme to the latest version of the theme via FTP method because this is the surest way in this regard. Also, if the problem is still there, please provide your website so I can inspect it closer your setup page. Also, you can provide some useful screenshots for a better understanding.
Thanks for the message!
Sorry, what is the best way to update the child theme? There is no mention in the documentation!
Hello twitchylegs,
We will make some further investigations in this regard and if we will find some errors in this regard, we will consider to fix it in our future updates. If you have encountered any problems ins this regard, please let us known and we will take a closer look in this regard.
Thanks for your understanding!
Unfortunately there is no update proof way of altering the plugin. sorry. You will have to create back-ups of your modification and if the mobile theme plugin gets updated you will have to re-add the modification.
There is no update proof way of altering any file whether it;s a theme file or a plugin file. A child theme does not help much as well. That needs updating as well.
The file you must edit to replace the comments is: http://screencast.com/t/mcalsLhl8q
Thank you!
Hi,
The missing updated error means you simply disabled the post date. Please enable the post date and the post author as you will see errors in your structure data if you remove them because google needs a data and an author for posts. If you remove them, there will be an error for each post where the author or date is missing.
Thank you!
Hello,
There is no license issue. You probably see the activation message from visual composer. Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
As for the mobile editor , that will only show up once you activate the mobile theme. Until then there will be only 1 editor. You should also check the screen options to make sure all fields are checked: http://screencast.com/t/EnBiqF3rOeh
Thank you!
Hi,
Indeed there is no such detect in our theme and this could happen. This is already on our list though and we will look into it for future updates.
Thank you!
Hi,
Our theme is compatible with the latest version of woocommerce. You can update the theme using this guide:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
then : https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
As for the child theme, that will need updating too. There is no update proof way of altering the theme files:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/setting-up-child-theme/
Then you can update your plugin.
Thank you!
Hi,
I’m using the newspaper theme Say what. I can’t change the Post Template. I click on Style 1, in Post Settings, and then update, but it always uses the default post template.
I’m not that experienced, so if you could let me know that would be appreciated. S
So I found I could drop the template file in Newspaper/mobile/<themename>.php and it picked it up.
However, I’m using a child theme. I tried adding the file in <ChildTheme>/mobile/<themename>.php and it did *not* work.
How can it be picked up in the Child Theme? As it stands now, anytime the main Newspaper theme is updated, my custom template will be blown away. And I can’t locate it in <ChildTheme>/<themename>.php, as that is the template for the non-mobile version of the file, that is still working correctly.
Thanks,
~Chris
After an update, I have refacted all the modifications and the avatar continues with the same size.
I disabled WP Cache and nothing.
