Hello redaksjon,
Please ensure that you have fully downloaded the latest version of the theme from your Theme Forest account. (Newspaper 7.3) and then please try to update this using the FTP method because this one is the surest method in this regard. For more information about this, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ If your problem is still there after this advice, please try to make a new clean install from scratch, with the latest version of the theme and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Yeah, I uploaded as instructed, and now the version is 7.3, but the Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1 did not update as you said. Is there a step I am missing?
Hi Catalin,
Can you confirm that this is the correct version – themeforest-5489609-newspaper-wordpress-theme.zip? I’ve gone to my Evato Market account, then to https://themeforest.net/downloads and downloaded the ZIP, installed via FTP per the instructions in link provided https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and now I have the 7.3 version displayed in the Appearance/Themes. However, the Visual Composer is still at version 4.11.2. Do I have to all the pluins manually as well?

Hi,
Can someone advise if it’s worth updating the theme.
I can see there has been a new release at 7.3 but after reading all the issues I’m a little concerned if it’s worth updating as the site.
My site seems to be running okay but i have only just been working on it little by little since i got it (using theme bought on 26 May 2016) and don’t know if the site will require the updated theme…
Hello there,
Before this , i have set, to disable comment count and post view in themepanel >> post setting.
But after the recent theme update there is “0” numbers appear on the blocks on my homepage as you can see. (number 0 next to the post title)

How can i disable this, it still appear although the post setting is off for comment count.
This gives a band impression when people come to the homepage. pls help!
Hello,
One of my readers let me notice that my articles featured images are not showing anymore on my articles…
THe weird thing (and it didn’t help me notice it) is that xhen I’m connected to my blog the featured image is showing… So I don’t know for sure for how long I’ve had that problem…
I updated to 7.3 this morning in order to test if this was correcting the issue… but it seems not…
My blog : http://www.byothe.fr
An example of article not showing the featured image (like all the other articles) :

Hi guys, I emailed about the issues from the theme update and I’ve not really had a sufficient response, I don’t think “fix it yourself”, which in short, is what you’ve told me to do is “support”.
Yes my entire site runs SSL, (https) but that’s what Google are pushing towards as the web standard, so please look to address this to future proof the theme, your solution was to link me to this:
“please search a solution online for ssl fonts: https://wptavern.com/wordpress-tip-how-to-load-google-fonts-over-ssl-and-non-ssl”
Your theme doesn’t have any “http” reference in the functions.php as the fix suggests. This is not fixing the issues, are you suggesting I dig through your theme code to find the errors and fix them myself, again, this isn’t “support”.
The issues are:
– Social media icons are not showing
– Back to top button is not showing an arrow
– Views “eye” icon is missing and miss aligned
– Mobile theme does not allow edits or respond to edits from the theme panel!
– Hamburgr menu button is “invisible” on mobile theme
– “vid” video play button on “feature images” in “related articles” is broken and displays broken image overlay
– “<” & “>” arrows not showing in under articles or pagination.
If you’re going to offer support, why do a half effort? This is a theme bug, please fix it.
Pretty annoyed at this “support” level to be honest, especially as I now have a broken/buggy theme on a live website.
I had an issue where all my social sharing buttons disappeared and other weirdness.
http://cowboylifestylenetwork.com/chef-magbanua-brings-experience-creativity-arroyo-grille/
I had to copy the images directory into the child theme.
I also updated the style.css from the new child theme.
I don’t think the change long had any changes to functions.php or header.php.
Hey,
Yes, you are correct about updating visual composer but I am not left with a second issue. Thankyou!
Nevertheless, the update has left my front page Header Background Colour transparent. Strangely enough on refresh it it appears black but 0% opacity appears within a second.
I know this as I changed it to red during testing. All plugins were disabled and cache refreshed.
See http://www.circusbazaar.com

I have updated my website to Newspaper 7,3.
But after updat ei have seen that on the home page Author name and dates are shown.
and also post view.
How we can disable those things for the home page?
Thanks
A manual theme update fixed the problem with the article author, but the Stay Connected header color will not change to black even though it is set to #000000 in the Newspaper default sidebar http://darkhorsenews.com/mistrust-of-clinton-on-trade-shadows-her-at-democratic-convention/.

Hello,
After update to Newspaper 7.3, comment counts starts to show on homepage. On the theme panel, comment counts is off. But Visual Composer element on homepage and components show comment counts. So, how can i close comments counts for everywhere?
Thanks.
I get lots of error messages in the search module:
wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: td_module_search is not set.
wp booster error:
Missing parameter: ‘file’
wp booster error:
Missing module: td_module_search
xxxxxxxxxxxx/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/loop.php
Any suggestions? Updated to the latest versjon.
Thanks!

Above is a visual of the issue. There is no rhyme or reason for it. It’s happening on post pages and other pages, including category pages, but is NOT happening on pages that are used via the “page builder with title.”
I have tried every troubleshooting problem prior to asking. And I’m also noticing this issue on other websites who have recently updated to 3.1
Thanks,
Hi,
Unfortunately as I have mentioned above, css does not know how to do that. You will need to use javascript to change the menu classes and add a specific one for each category. Unfortunately there is no easy solution for it. You will need custom work which we cannot provide at the moment. I will add your request to our list for future updates though.
Thank you!
Bogdan B.
Hello,
Sorry for the inconvenience. There seems to be a css issue in the new update on the mobile theme. Please use this css code in the mobile theme’s custom code box:
.td-post-author-name div { display:inline; }
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi there,
I have recently updated to version 7.3 and noticed today that after updating and clearing the cache (and all browser caches) that my author and date meta info on posts is appearing disjointed. It’s very strange because I was able to get it back to normal with continued cache clearings and browser refreshes, and then it would come back without warning (both logged in and out of WordPress dashboard). I have no idea what is going on. You can see a couple examples below.
Here is what it should look like:
http://www.drbillsukala.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screen-Shot-2016-07-29-at-5.53.37-PM.png
And here it is when it gets disjointed:
http://www.drbillsukala.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screen-Shot-2016-07-29-at-5.53.23-PM.png
Note: the above happens in all smart phone browsers in Android and iPhone. I don’t think it’s a text size issue because it was working fine before the last update.
On Google Chrome it is disjointed as well.
I have checked the td-module-meta-info in the source php files from before and after the update and they are the same.
If you go to my website (same as in the link URLs) and click on some of the articles, you might get to see it live.
Would welcome any input you may have. Thank you very much for your help.
Kind regards,
B
Hello vladimirtrajkovic,
Please update and your Visual Composer to the latest version of it -> 4.12. You will have to delete the old version of ti and then from Premium Plugins you will have to install the version which comes bundled with the theme. For more information about this, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
There was an incompatibility issue between the new update and the mobile theme but it has been fixed since. Please download the theme again from envato and update again from the new package. (the version did not change. it will still be 7.3 but the fixes were added)
As for the language, you can load a Russian translation from the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/EutfCeHiU0m
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.
Hello,
The new update is released so please download the package again from themeforest. (the version is still 7.3 but the package was fixed)
@news_lp_client, the customization in your child theme are most likely the cause of your issues as if the files you modified got changed in the last update, you need to re-create the child theme. Please try to update your theme and switch to your main theme and check if the problems are still there. We have bno reports of such issues with the update and we cannot re-create them .The only issues we had were mobile theme related and they were since then fixed. Please let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello,
For the author name on the mobile theme, please use this custom css:
.td-post-author-name div { display:inline; }
Add in the mobile theme’s custom css here: http://screencast.com/t/dJ2473a0
Sorry for these issues. We’re only human :).
We will fix this in the next update.
Thank you!
