thank you very much indeed: background skin and mouse pointer shape now work perfectly and as expected! Just one question: why do you advice to insert the custom CSS code by means of the theme panel rather than adding it directly in the Newsmag style.css file?
May be adding it by means of theme panel will preserve it from overwriting on theme update?

I have checked your website again and I saw the problem again with your 43 page. Also, I have noticed that you have used an old version of Newspaper v.6.5.1. Please try to update the theme to the latest version 6.7 only via FTP, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also, please check all your customizations if you have, your ads code from the Ads area to have no syntax errors. Before doing the update, please make a full backup.
If your problem is still there after these changes, please let us know.

I have added this on our list of improvements and we will consider in next update. In a future update, it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though. Until we can do it, you can use a plugin.

Hi, we want to upgrade our blog using newspaper4 to newspaper6, but when I upload newspaper6 theme, my site gets broken.

We removed the quotes and dropcaps from shortcode area and add them at formats section since V 2.0 of the theme: http://screencast.com/t/UNHYNH7UDWM At that time we offered a script which made the transition easier.
At that time the theme pass trough a major update and these changes where required. We’re sorry for these inconveniences and in the future we will try to make the updates more easy to use.

Hi, Thanks for the info, just one question regarding the update: Is it also possible only to overwrite the files from patch_6.6.5_6.7 Folder? Because I had to change some of the files from the Theme Folder and dont want to overwrite everything. Afterwards I would update the Visual Composer ofcourse. Thanks!

Unfortunately the grids from visual composer still need a bit of work done for them to properly display the posts. Even on a default theme , the grid does not change animation. It keeps the same animation no matter the settings. We will have to wait for them to fix the issues in a future update.

I disabled all the plugins (also updated Visual Composer to the last theme-included version) but no change.
I think the font size problem is due to the fact that i still have to use a css-hack to actually target the paragraph (p) settings under the individual pages, like:
.page-id-81 p {font-size: 12px !important;}
– if my forum page has 81 as the id-number.
This has been an issue since i brought the theme about a year ago (have had to do it on my contact-page for example). It only applies when using Visual Composer since the divs being created by it seems to be uneffected by the regular page paragraph setting.
As for the link on the H1/Title being incorrectly set to the bottom-most forum I have no idea what can cause. I disabled the whole H1-tag with:
.bbpress .td-page-title {display: none !important;}
Not an ideal solution, but at least it works.

I am not sure why this happens as we didn’t received a similar report so far.
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using and test again. Also check in browser’s console if there are any errors related with the theme when you save the settings on category.
If the problem persist you can try to make a new clean WP install, then install the theme and the Visual Composer plugin according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ then test again.

I have checked your page source and I saw the fonts loading. This kind of issue appears only when you load the custom fonts from the Theme panel. Indeed, this is an issue with our theme and we will try to fix it in next update.

Changing from newspaper 4 has it’s downside unfortunately as it will be almost like switching to another theme as the code was changed drastically since version 4. The best thing to do is to delete your current theme and upload the new version directly via ftp and then simply run the update script from the main theme panel.
