The Theme Newspaper purchased with Version: 3.9, has now been updated to Version 4.4

The version of Visual Composer plugin WPBakery that came along was 4.2.2 and now seeing the control panel (plug-ins) still with the same summer 4.2.2. This has never been updated.

What was purchased, urged and is working is the Visual Composer Extensions extension All In One Version: 2.6.1, this is ok.

What is more I can not enter “new page” and that’s very important, I need to add new urgently, but Visual Composer is blocking it.
How to solve this? Uninstall Visual Composer also the extension All One? But to make it even need to block access to the site, as without the plugin and extension pages that use will be without the correct presentation.

If you uninstall the plugin and extension, urgent need to reinstall, but which version should I use, version 4.2.2 (which came in the theme of purchase) or a newer that also comes with the theme?

I need help, I await contact. Thank U!
It has a forecast for new update theme and plug-ins?

Hi,

The Visual Composer plugin that comes with the theme is licensed to the theme, the license specifies that only we can provide the updates and you don’t have to buy it or register it.
We’re testing the plugin latest version, if everything is ok we will include it in the next update and only then you can update the plugin by downloading the theme latest version and following the procedure presented in the plugin update guide.
Till then please ignore the update message!
Please provide more details if you have another issue.

Thanks!

Hi,

Please try to replace the code from gallery.php: http://screencast.com/t/4scE9uD6

function td_shortcode_atts_gallery($atts) {

    //make medium size thumbnails
    if (isset($atts['size']) and $atts['size'] == 'thumbnail') {
        $atts['size'] = 'medium';
    }
    return $atts;
}

add_filter('shortcode_atts_gallery', 'td_shortcode_atts_gallery');

It will be fixed also in the next update!

Sure, Chris! The last update is very good. The tadDiv team is walking to a flawless theme with those updates. Although I’m stressed with that line’s issue, I’m happy with the theme.

Inclusive, I discovered that line’s bug actually is some pattern set in style.css of theme.

Anyway, I would like be helped by tagDiv team with that, if possible.

Thanks!

And one I keep forgetting until I do a theme upgrade; this really should have been part of 1.6 core update, but TagDiv helped me with this back on 1.2 or 1.4, which is for the thumbnails used at bottom of posts for “related” items. If you run various pagespeed testing tools, you might get the annoying notice about “not resizing” those images, which are actually 200×150 last time I looked. BUT, the theme resizes them from the 238x thumb vs making new one, when you have the 3 column related items as I do.

SO: here is fix for that; you need to edit /includes/td_config.php

(NOTE: syntax changed from 1.4 to 1.6 with API syntax; so if using older version copy one of the preceding elements and add the additional size).

So, around line 797 in v 1.6 you would need to add this:

td_api_thumb::add('td_200x150',
array(
'name' => 'td_200x150',
'width' => 200,
'height' => 150,
'crop' => array('center', 'top'),
'post_format_icon_size' => 'normal',
'used_on' => array(
'Related articles'
)
)
);

And then in the theme panel for the thumbnails, “activate” the 200×150 size, and sadly YES, once again run “regenerate thumbnails” plugin (since there are no 200×150 thumbs).

So, now when you load the “related” images at bottom of your posts, they will be 200×150 “actual size” and not “resized” 238×00 images.

Not a hyper critical item, but for those trying to get that last dot of speed rating, this is one of the action items.

Hope these all help folks “dial it in.”

Yeah. I’m working on a WooCommerce setup for our main site this weekend, and little minor things with the buttons are annoying, and I feel stupid for not being able to sort the right CSS over-ride (just got up, cup of coffee in hand.. going to try again!).

It’s the little things.

On the other hand I *love* some of the updates in 1.6 (might have been in 1.5?), like the footer setup options in the theme panel now SHOW the optional layouts for footer !! That is really cool, as I just noticed that yesterday.

Any update on this? its already March 1, 2015

Additionally, I noticed with latest update that on the checkout page, the theme used the class “button alt” for the “Place Order” button at bottom, however this is a size smaller than the “button” class used on page, and if anything should be “button lg” (large). So, for example the button used in the info boxes to apply a coupon code or login is a size larger than the most important button on page to actually checkout.

I was trying to figure out to make this larger, and as usual I’m not getting the syntax quite right…

eg.

.input button alt{font-size:18px !important}

.button alt{font-size:18px !important}

any help on this one appreciated 🙂

( I am running Newsmag 1.6 )

Hi,

I want to use another plugin for the pagination everywhere (front page, archives, paginated pages). I have to paste this code in the theme: <?php wp_pagenavi(); ?>

Can you tell me please, in which files I have to paste this piece of code?

Thats my site: http://www.promicabana.de/ … I still use the “old” version, before your latest update.

Thanks!

Hello,

Before the latest update I was using :

$td_sub_cats = ”; //TO HIDE ALL THE CATEGORIES, UNCOMENT THIS LINE

in parts/page-category-big-grid.php

However with the 1.6 update, page-category-big-grid.php is empty …

How can we hide the categories now ?

Thanks.

I updated the theme.
I updated the plugin.
I deactivated all plugins leaving only Visual Composer.
I installed all plugins in /plugins folder.

What else can I do?? I don’t know what else to do.

Hello,

I’ve read the documentations and the forums and I have installed WP User Avatar. I have a problem with the avatars, this is what happens:

1. the avatar I upload has 500×500 px resolution
2. it is resized to 100×100 px and then after that cropped to 100×75 px
3. on the article page, the 100×75 px image is displayed as 100×100 because that’s how the theme layout is

How can I avoide the cropping and last resizing?

Here is a copy paste from the code:

I have updated today to the latest version of Newsmag.

Hi,

I guess that you are referring to this menu: http://screencast.com/t/MNdCuFCv
If you use the latest version of theme(1.6) you have this option in Theme Panel to hide that menu for each category: http://screencast.com/t/snaBQTG1
If you need to update your theme please use this guide(FTP method) to update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/ Also make sure that you update plugins that come with the theme, you can find them in /plugins folder.

Please provide more details if this is not your issue some screenshots will help.

Thanks!
