Hi,
I am having problems with Header Menu Items. I have updated my theme to the latest version of Newspaper and I am seeing that selectors (in Header Menu) are not really working fine.
When I use an icon, the selector goes to the right not staying below the menu item.
Also when I try to select an icon menu, there are two bars below the Menu Item (one in black and one in blue) when it is supposed just to have one (blue one).
I will show you exactly what happened:

One other question. When adding the background behind the title is there css to put some padding at the front and end of the title so it doesn’t start and stop right with the word?
UPDATE: FIGURED IT OUT!!
Relating to
.td-big-grid-post .entry-title a{
background-color: red;
padding-left: 4px;
padding-right: 4px;
}
thanks!

Hi,
Unfortunately using the Speed Booster plugin could cause issues of this type, because the plugin moves resources to the footer. I will add this on our issue tracker for further testing and we will fix this in next updates.
Thanks
This is very unfortunate. Please tell me this is high on the list of items to fix in the next update?
I (and who knows how many others) are loosing ad income and potential advertisers because we are limited on to what kind we can display right now. Please make this a high priority. I like this theme otherwise, but to be honest, if I’d have known about this at the beginning, I would not have purchased.
Hi,
Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have an option for this, Newspaper is designed to work on desktop, tablet, and phone, you will need custom modifications for that and it is not an easy task. You can get someone to help you with this as unfortunately we cannot offer custom work because we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/
Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately I cannot provide to you a temporally solution for this. We have this issue on our list and we will add an option to force modal for all images in future updates. Sorry for inconvenience!
Thanks for understanding!
Hi,
Sorry that didn’t fix it. Like I said above this issue appear when you use background and style 4. Please try this without background and should look like in our demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/popular-people-who-everyone-seems-to-love/ Also will work fine on mobile view.
We will try to fix it in next updates!
Also if you use post template 3, you can use background and it will look almost like your actual post with background: http://5star-kenya.com/tsavo-east-west-beginner-tour/ – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/strong-growth-and-engagement-across-our-community/
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for reporting this! We will make some tests and it will be fixed in future updates!
Hi,
Please update your theme if you don’t use the latest version 4.6.1 use FTP method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/ and Visual Composer plugin following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ and also remove and install the VC plugin from the /plugins folder which came with the theme files. If you use the latest theme version you should have Visual Composer version 4.3.5.
Also if you still have issues please try this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active and clear cache.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks!
Thanks ??? I did refresh the page, but I am due to for some update, maybe I’m looking oder versions of a few of the browsers?
Hi,
When a user of our website clicks on the login link (tagdiv login widget) and requests a password reminder, he receives an email with “This is an example email. Please update it with your own content”.
How can I change this text? Why is there no password?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Kind regards,
Rumi
Hi,
Unfortunately this is full width(1021px) that you can use the slider: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/slider/ You will need custom modifications for that and it is not an easy task. You can get someone to help you with this as unfortunately we cannot offer custom work because we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.
Thanks!
Hi,
The render blocking JavaScript and CSS notifications are solvable using the speed booster plugin and the guide you’ve mentioned (4-th point).
This is recommended for advanced users only so if you don’t have php knowledge I suggest you get someone to help you with this.
The guide provides all the info you need to do this, you have to use the function provided in the tutorial, you could try to play with the priority, some plugins may load after it and that’s why it doesn’t return all js – http://screencast.com/t/7fhfjttAT8
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_action
Regarding the second issue, that usually happens when using the speed booster plugin as this plugin moves the css and js automatically to the bottom of the page.
I suggest you update the theme to the latest version and also update the speed booster plugin then let me know if you still have this issue.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately there is no option for this, so you will need custom modification or try to find a plugin. You can get someone to help you with this we cannot offer custom work for the moment because we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/
Thanks!
Hi,
I manually changed files in my theme. I have not updated for months. So I would like to update to a specific version (3.8.2 at first).
When I go on ThemForest, I can not find the older versions for the model. Will has a repository with all versions? This could be useful.
Thank you and have a good day.
Hi,
The Visual Composer plugin that comes with the theme is licensed to the theme, the license specifies that only we can provide the updates and you don’t have to buy it or register it.
We’re testing the plugin latest version, if everything is ok we will include it in the next update and only then you can update the plugin by downloading the theme latest version and following the procedure presented in the plugin update guide.
Till then please ignore the update message!
Thanks!
Hello everyone! I’m setting up my wordpress site, and everything was just peachy until thursday. I didn’t knowingly install any new plugins nor did I update anything, but for some reason, if I try to upload any images, I get the following error:
“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING or ‘(‘ in /home/fazen862/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gif-image-resize/Bbpp_Animated_Gif.php on line 2”
Everything else on the site seems to be working perfectly, and the images I have uploaded before are just peachy. I originally noticed this while trying to upload my logo in newspaper. I already combed through the official wordpress foruns looking to similar situations, and I’ve already went through some solutions, but none of them solved the problem: I’ve double checked that I didnt install any new plugins since I last uploaded images and I’ve double checked the ftp file permissions. I don’t even know if this error is in Newspaper or in WordPress, but I’ve seen people with similar error that just had to change one character in the mentioned line in their .php file and it fixed the error, but I couldn’t code my way out of a wet paperbag using sharp scissors… Can anyone help me?
This is the beginning of the code in the aforementioned file (I’m pretty sure Line 2 is included in there):
<?php
use gdenhancer\GDEnhancer;
class Bbpp_Animated_Gif extends WP_Image_Editor_GD {
public $image_animated_gif = null;
public function save( $filename = null, $mime_type = null ) {
$is_animated_gif = GifFrameExtractor::isAnimatedGif($this->file);
if (!$is_animated_gif) {
return parent::save($filename, $mime_type);
}
$saved = $this->_save_animated_gif( $this->image_animated_gif, $filename, $mime_type );
if ( ! is_wp_error( $saved ) ) {
$this->file = $saved[‘path’];
$this->mime_type = $saved[‘mime-type’];
}
return $saved;
}
Hi guys, so I’ve got a strange problem. I’ve added the latest version of the Google Analytics code to the theme panel in Newspaper but for some reason whenever I load a page on my site the page doesn’t stop loading, iel the page loads fine but on Chrome I see the page loading icon in the tab keep spinning and at the bottom of the web page I see ‘waiting for googleanalytics.com…’
When I remove the code from the theme panel the page loads instantly and the loading icon in the tab stops. When I add the code back in the issue comes back.
Any ideas?
[update – I am now getting ‘waiting for fonts.gstatic.com]
I have just started working on my blog. My knowledge of code is limited, but I am struggling through some customizations.
The header appears to automatically resize itself in the program. It is much too small. In order to try and overwrite this I posted a new image to server and renamed it with old resized file’s name. I have refreshed all browsers several times while customizing the code. Firefox randomly grabbed the old resized file and renamed it, replacing the larger logo. I don’t understand what caused it to update or how to prevent it from updating.
Can anyone help with this? Also how can I control the padding under the header (or over the menu bar)?
Any advise would be greatly greatly appreciated!
You have a very high competitive
like Sahifa
http://themeforest.net/item/sahifa-responsive-wordpress-news-magazine-blog-theme/2819356
l love newsmag theme and i hope newspaper be better than newsmag in all ways becouse the theme now in danger of very high competitive .
I think if you give the newspaper good update in Version 5 it will be Will jump to the best theme in News / Editorial category .
Waitting for better don’t let us down .
Happy to have helped! Also, could you see to it that in the next update, we don’t need to add images as large as 1074*483px for it to show properly in the Big Slider? Most other themes, like Hot Topix and Jarida (I have used them on other sites), their sliders work fine with all dimensions. I hope you can understand, it is hard to find images as wide as 1074px for every featured article.
Hi Emil,
The url is http://www.rawrfeed.com/roads-by-photographer-andy-lee/ – If you hover over an image, the social icon does not appear on the image.
When I change to a different theme, the plugin works. It’s only after I updated to 1.5.

You don’t need license. It’s a bundled version.
See theme docs:
