Dear Support Team,
as I installed the updates newspaper theme and the child theme, my pages tremble as I scroll down. What should I do to solve this problem?
I also checked other blogs and they are perfectly ok, so it has nothing to do with my notebook.
Here is the link to my blog http://rainbowtoluck.com/
Thank you very much in advance!
Hi,
It looks like this plugin needs the WP Forum plugin to work with: http://screencast.com/t/gcgnAYGdec9
Sorry about this, I haven’t noticed that whane I metioned it.
You should try to get this one instead Bbpress Latest Discussion which will suppose to work with bbpress, configure it and try it if you like.
Please note though that I haven’t tested it and can’t guarantee it will work properly as it hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. Please make sure if you want to try it that you make a backup of your current theme before so that you can revert back to it if something goes wrong.
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Dear Tagdiv Support Team,
I updated the theme and pasted the Google Analytics code into “Analytics” in the Control Panel, but it doesn´t show the statistics as it did before. How could I see my statistics again? I copied the code inclusive <script>.
Thanks!
Hi Lucian,
Thanks for your quick reply and good luck for next updates 😉
What does this new theme do to the newspaper development?
Will we just see slowed down feature updates or do you plan to only provide security/compatibility releases in the future?
(Maybe i should ask that after seeing the first weeks of Newsmag sales? 🙂

hi, here is one of the plugins I mentioned which is supposed to help with tracking down where all the dbase queries are going … I’ve started using this recently to double check myself on stuff:
WORDPRESS QUERY MONITOR PLUGIN:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/query-monitor/
Query Monitor is a debugging plugin for anyone developing with WordPress. It has some advanced features not available in other debugging plugins, including automatic AJAX debugging and the ability to narrow down things by plugin or theme.
Here’s an overview of what’s shown:
Database Queries
◾Shows all database queries performed on the current page
◾Shows affected rows and time for all queries
◾Show notifications for slow queries and queries with errors
◾Filter queries by query type (SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, etc)
◾Filter queries by component (WordPress core, Plugin X, Plugin Y, theme)
◾Filter queries by calling function
◾View aggregate query information grouped by component, calling function, and type
◾Super advanced: Supports multiple instances of wpdb on one page
Filtering queries by component or calling function makes it easy to see which plugins, themes, or functions on your site are making the most (or the slowest) database queries.
Hooks
◾Shows all hooks fired on the current page, along with hooked actions and their priorities
◾Filter hooks by part of their name
◾Filter actions by component (WordPress core, Plugin X, Plugin Y, theme)
Theme
◾Shows the template filename for the current page
◾Shows the available body classes for the current page
◾Shows the active parent and child theme name
PHP Errors
◾PHP errors (warnings, notices, stricts, and deprecated) are presented nicely along with their component and call stack
◾Shows an easily visible warning in the admin toolbar
Request
◾Shows matched rewrite rules and associated query strings
◾Shows query vars for the current request, and highlights custom query vars
◾Shows the queried object details (collapsed by default)
HTTP Requests
◾Shows all HTTP requests performed on the current page (as long as they use WordPress’ HTTP API)
◾Shows the response code, call stack, transport, timeout, and time taken
◾Highlights erroneous responses, such as failed requests and anything without a 200 response code
Redirects
◾Whenever a redirect occurs, Query Monitor adds an X-QM-Redirect HTTP header containing the call stack, so you can use your favourite HTTP inspector to easily trace where a redirect has come from
AJAX
The response from any jQuery AJAX request on the page will contain various debugging information in its header that gets output to the developer console. No hooking required.
AJAX debugging is in its early stages. Currently it only includes PHP errors, but this will be built upon in future versions.
Admin Screen
Hands up who can remember the correct names for the filters and actions for custom admin screen columns?
◾Shows the correct names for custom column filters and actions on all admin screens that have a listing table
◾Shows the state of get_current_screen() and a few variables
Environment Information
◾Shows various PHP information such as memory limit and error reporting levels
◾Highlights the fact when any of these are overridden at runtime
◾Shows various MySQL information, including caching and performance related configuration
◾Highlights the fact when any performance related configurations are not optimal
◾Shows various details about WordPress and the web server
◾Shows version numbers for all the things
Everything Else
◾Shows any transients that were set, along with their timeout, component, and call stack
◾Shows all WordPress conditionals on the current page, highlighted nicely
◾Shows an overview including page generation time and memory limit as absolute values and as % of their respective limits
Authentication
By default, Query Monitor’s output is only shown to Administrators on single-site installs, and Super Admins on Multisite installs.
In addition to this, you can set an authentication cookie which allows you to view Query Monitor output when you’re not logged in (or if you’re logged in as a non-administrator). See the bottom of Query Monitor’s output for details.
Theme works great across all our sites (and has the past year). Usually the culprit with this kind of thing is a rogue plugin not updated to work with WordPress 3.9/4.0 which introduced a lot of changes; or a social media related plugin which has to go out and retrieve data and times out, or some kind of plugin which creates dynamic content by doing dbase queries PER PAGE load and not caching that (such as “related items”, complex Ajax loading of additional content on page scroll, forums, site forms which can be pinged externally and have auto-responders, etc.).
Often the ERROR LOGS for your site can give a specific indication of the error.
There is also a great resource checker plugin for WordPress I shared with somebody the other day here, but forget what that link is — it basically tells you WHICH plugin is taking up all your resources, and allows you to remove those, and/or find alternate solution.
I’m sure Marius or Lucian will have “official response” but thought I’d share that.
We had a site become corrupted the other day (first time since WP 2.6 ?) and the only way I could fix that was to use the “reinstall” WP function in the WP admin, which reset all the permissions properly. Weird. That site just kept crashing on everything like preview of theme option, running any plugin settings, etc.
Not sure that helped; but thought I’d at least give you some moral/mental support 🙂
Hi guys
i have noticed that the mobile version of my theme on both tablet and cell phone looks horrible! All the photos and pictures from my blog are not visible at all. Only the text and ads are being displayed.
What I did before reaching out to you:
1) I have updated the newspaper theme successfully.
2) I have disabled the mobile version of Jetpack on my WordPress (as recommended by you in this forum).
It still looks crappy.
What now?
Miss Kay
Please help!
Cheers!
Hi,
Please make sure that you do this right and install/update the theme using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installation/ If this is the first time you install the theme and you don’t have any settings you can remove theme files and then re-upload them again via FTP to prevent overwriting. If you want to update it please make a backup first.
Please let me know if this helps!
Thanks
Hi,
I have checked your site and found that you use 4.0.1 theme version. Please update the theme as we have fixed this in the next theme versions.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately this is how it works, you need to click the menu item again to close it. It should be possible and if you want that we recommend you to get a freelancer to change it for you as we cannot offer custom work at this time as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.
Sorry about this!
Thanks for understanding!
Hi,
Our advice it to get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself, this needs custom work and unfortunately we can offer custom work at this as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.
Thanks
Hi,
I currently not being able to display X first articles with big thumbnails (M7 post template), then other articles with smaller thumbnails (M8 for instance). Is there a way to do that or is it an idea for next updates?
I tried to achieve that with the visual composer, without success.
Thanks!
I’ve run into this too. I create a similar function named child_… and have been lucky enough that all references to the functions are in child-editable files, so I just make them use child_… instead.
In child_… I usually just catch the special case I have in mind and then pass everything on to the parent function again, to prevent having so many revisions in the child theme that it not only survives updates but is impervious to them. :p
Hi. I have been trying to integrate sexy bookmarks and/or jetpack sharing functionality on the front page. What I need is to have a FB and Twitter sharing buttons, with share count, on the front page, below each “article preview” on the article list (e.g. next to the “read more” button but aligned to the right). I would like these buttons to link to each article separately. The problem is that all I can do, is insert these two share buttons above the article list, but they link to the whole index page (home page).
Do you have any tips on how to integrate these social sharing buttons without modifying the code in individual php files? I have seen tutorials on how to add these buttons manually, but I want to leave the core files intact. Are you planning an update of newspaper with such functionality?
Thanks
What’s that url you are getting a 403 for. I’m not seeing that.
Guess what…. It’s the TAGDiv Speed Booster that’s giving that error. It was 2.1, I went and updated it to 2.5 and the error is still there.
I deactivated it and the error is gone.
Hi,
We know about this issue and we have it on our todo list and hopefully will manage to fix this in future updates, you can use the excerpt field from post editing panel to add a custom excerpt for the posts which display the link in the excerpt: http://screencast.com/t/xnUCEXAj
Thanks
Hi,
If you update it using a patch or overwriting the files via FTP should not affect the CTP template as it will not be overwritten.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately you will need custom work for that as the theme doesn’t have a feature like that and we recommend you to get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself because we cannot offer custom work at this moment as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.
You can also follow this tread and find out how to add and register a new menu:

Hope this helps!
Thanks for understanding!
Hello Guys
I have installed the “qTranslate” plugin for managing my language support on this theme. I am currently with two issues:
1. What do I have to do in order to appear at the homepage which language to select (like a drop-down for EN and PT language selection)? I haven’t find any information regarding this on documentation.
2. When I open any post currently I get the following error – “The qTranslate Editor has disabled itself because it hasn’t been tested with your WordPress version yet. This is done to prevent WordPress from malfunctioning. You can reenable it by clicking here (may cause data loss! Use at own risk!). To remove this message permanently, please update qTranslate to the corresponding version.” This appears as many times as number of text boxes that require translation. I am currently running on WordPress version 4.0–en_US. What should I do?
Thank you
Thanks…
But now we will have to do this all over again if we have a theme update 🙂
Hi,
This is the normal appearance of the sidebar, when it’s set to left it becomes the first element on page and the posts will fall under it.
You can follow a discussion about this here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/rtl-problem-on-change-sidebar-position/#post-11707
If you can’t managed to do this by yourself we recommend to get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ to do it for as we cannot offer custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.
Do you still have issue with the logo? I have checked your site and seems fine in each post template: http://screencast.com/t/WDP2Ltziw6s
Please let me know!
Thanks!
Hi,
You can add the the logo like this: http://screencast.com/t/sCyENDge and use custom css to apply a background color to it, like this: http://screencast.com/t/xGtC6qiTD5CH
.page-template-page-homepage-blank-php .td-affix .td-logo-rec-wrap, .td-full-logo {
background-color: #dd3333 !important;
}
If you don’t know how to do this we recommend you to hire a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ because we cannot offer custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately there is no option for this as the timeline template was designed to only show the post headlines and you will need custom work to achieve this.
Unfortunately we cannot offer custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself.
Sorry about this!

Hi,
Unfortunately you can’t use php code in the ad field, you would have to edit the td_module_blog file and add a condition for this in the get_content() function which contains the cases for the inline ads: http://screencast.com/t/rkxfuR6v
