After update my newspaper theme version to 11.4.1, add the “weibo”to “td_social_icons.php”like this,

the console worked well.

but the home page goes wrong,like this

in the past theme version, i use addon “Font Awesome 4 Menus” & modify the “td_social_icons.php”,add css to theme panel “custom css” method to make it work.

Can you tell me where goes wrong? if the new update disupport modify by this way?

I forget to mentioned – WP engine also was updated.
Does it mean that current Template is not compatible with WP last stable public version?

Can you be a little more helpful here? It is quite frustrating that something is so easy to implement manually but cant because it looks like the code was actively written to prevent it.

tdb_state_template::get_template_type()

Is what prevents most pages working correctly. If this could be overridden somehow, we could return “category” for other tax pages to ensure the correct data is shown or pulled from queries.

Is another issue. If this were marked as protected, we could extend the class and modify the behaviour. If i change this to protected, it will break my site when an update is released and the scope changes back to private.

I don’t understand why the option, which would be easy to leave in the code, is shut off for people to expand upon. Fair enough if you guys don’t want to write the code to support it but why actively block others from doing it for their own personal websites?

Hello. This documentation didn’t fulfill my needs. I have following questions regarding custom blocks:

Normally, the posts are automatically retrieved according to our filter settings like taxonomy, category, etc. I want to add additional filters, specifically in combination with a plugin that gives the functionality of marking posts as favorites. It has a code block inside it automatically retrieves user’s favorited posts. I need to use this feature with built-in block styles.

Partial page loading: I have a section for the posts. It display the latest posts. I want this section to display let’s say trending posts within the samepage. I think I need to wirte additional code in php and js to upgrade deafult ajax filter.

I can’t figure out how to use taxonomy filters. I created a custom taxonomy with CPT UI plugin. Under the taxonomy “Communities” I have 23 different categories and each community needs to have it’s own page. So I need to use taxonomy filters.

We combined a flex block and a list to display such element bu it is in sufficient since when the title length changes, layout just breaks. I need to create/copy a flex block and add numbers as displayed in the page now. How can I do that?

I need to create a new flex block layout which enables me to display post titles “on the image” like some blocks do but i need to adjust the layout my self (sinle line of 5 elements.) I don’t need to change or update anything else that can be controlled through dashboard. I need to have all the options that flex-block 1 has + title position and layout. How can I create such block?

It’s 1:1 with above problem. Newspaper are not styling the headlines as they should.

Your wp-content/themes/Newspaper/gutenberg-editor.css?ver=11.4.1 are not mapping correctly to h1,h2,h3,h4,h5 and h6 in the Gutenberg-editor.

Here’s the current problem. Note that no font-size are properly added for the h3 element.

The provided CSS are not following the way WordPress are currently generating headlines (‘h3.wp-block’). Newspaper are trying to map the headlines with ‘.wp-block h3’..

Or fixing the mappings as you guys would like to do. It doesn’t really matter from our end. You could do both, if that’s more preferred. As long as it’s actually working with the current version of WordPress (‘5.9.1’ as we speak).

Kindly patch it so it can be included in the next update. Hopefully pushed our in a few days?
