Hi,
Unfortunately for the moment there is no setting in our theme to can do that, sorry! maybe there will be add this option in the coming updates.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
The child theme was limited after the 9.7 update, but now in the 9.7.4 update it has been greatly improved in terms of functionality. Post templates, blocks, modules, header templates, category templates etc can now be modified in the child theme.
In the coming update we will fix some issues with the child theme, this should be released this week from what I know. Please let me know if you have questions.
Thanks
I am trying to update the footer and AMP settings to my website, http://masteringhealthhappiness.com/, but when I click Save Settings in the Theme Panel, the icon showing things are processing (box made up of smaller boxes, spinning), just keeps spinning. I have already check to see if it would work with non-TagDiv plugins removed and have reviewed your system requirements page.
Thank you,
Amy
Hello i have the child theme installed and after 9.7.4 update from 9.7.3 the site posts look weird.
The sidebars are gone and the adsense ads are not showing.
My site looks wierd after update too.
Thanks for your reply. I need to run both as the site breaks completely otherwise. This is only since the latest update. Very odd as I have used WP Bakery all the way through. I notice that your TD Composer doesn’t support 4 columns either so this is rather problematic.
When can we expect an update or a fix?
Thanks
Hi Simion
Just an update on my previous message to you re the Search functions.
I am now also unable to use the Search facility in the admin area in relation to:
– the Media Library and the Listings.
Searching for specific images in the Media Gallery results in ‘No Media Files Found’
Searching using keywords/categories in the Listings now results in a display of posts based on the keywords and not relevant listings.
I have another website using your theme without any Directories Plugin being used and that has the same issue when looking for images in the Media Gallery.
Can you please let me know if this is a bug?
Many thanks
Regards
Ian
Hey Calin, I truly appreciate how responsive you’ve been. Unfortunately, after updating the PHP file as you instructed, the author name still isn’t updating for me. Neither on the blog page itself or when a preview of the blog is displayed on a category page or anywhere else. Whether I change the author or add multiple authors, the blog just keeps displaying the original blog default author (my name – Erik Larsen) and ignores my choices completely. Here’s a link to a PDF I created with some screenshots – https://www.dropbox.com/s/ykjvvgos3l6u9rx/TagDiv%20Support_Guest%20Author%20error%20screenshots.pdf?dl=0
Screenshot 1 is the updated PHP file.
Screenshot 2 is the guest author that I created and chose for our Quiktrip blog.
Screenshot 3 and 4 show the blog’s original default author still displaying despite the guest author being chosen.
I’ve also tried 2 other plugins: “Guest Author” and (Simply) Guest Author Name. The first didn’t change the author at all, and the second actually fixes the author’s name on the blog page itself, but it doesn’t update the author name when a preview of the blog is shown on the category page, sidebar, or anywhere else.
I don’t know what to do?
Hello, Calin.
Thanks for your reply.
But why disable something that was working before?
I dont see info in the new documentation telling us that the new update would remove functions.
What we have to do?
Hi Catlin:
1. Our Pull quotes were working fine until your most recent Theme Update on 17 July.
2. Plug-in has all been tested with no conflicts.
Can we provide temp admin access for you to check further?

Thanks
Hello !

Also take note to upload your plugins as well: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/
Thank you !
We have a “Newspaper 8.0” theme and want to upgrade to the last version “9” how to do it securely?
Thank you in advance!
Hi,
If you are using the last version of the theme ( Newspaper v9.7.4) and and you have other non theme plugins that were updated is possible that the requirements of the theme that you have set to not longer be enough.
If you tried the above steeps and the problem persist, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thank you!
Hello
After I updated to the new version 9.7.4, The sub menu is disappeared from the main menu both on desktop and mobile. I find no solution on the forum. Please suggest.
Hello !
It seems that your theme update was not done correctly. Please disable ALL the non-theme related plugins and update your theme following this tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
I hope this was helpfull !
Thank you !
Hi,
That is true, the guide doesn’t actually show how to create a block replica and customize it if needed. I will make a note of it and add it on the list, it would indeed be helpful in such a situation to have this in the guide.
The blocks and modules can now be used in a child theme, after the latest update. There are still a few quirks with the child theme but they will be solved as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Hi,
This “problem” is noted in our fix list, and this will be fix by our developers for the coming updates.
Thank you for your understanding!
Dear Catalin,
I received your message. When should the update come for the defect of the mobile / amp plugins? Since I’m going online next week, it needs to be fixed. Nobody else can use the search e. and amp mobile is also important because I bought it for that very reason.
thanks alot. ciao Rick
Hello !
Please make sure to uninstall your plugins and re-install them manually as you can see in our tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/
If you uninstall them there should be no problem. And if the problem still persists please try uploading them via FTP.
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
Thank you !
Hi,
I have checked your website and I saw that your single images were created with WPBackery and also, the TD Composer is used on your website and that’s why these elements become broken. Please note that we will make an update soon to fix this problem, sorry! Please check our Envato official page and update the theme when this will be released.
Thank you for your understanding!
Best regards!
Hello !
You need to upgrade this you need to update your page speed. Here is a tutorial on how to increase it: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/
Please follow every step and make sure that everything is done correctly !
This should bring much better results on your page !
Thank you !
Glad I can help.
The mobile theme won’t work with composer content, only what is possible through the simple mobile editor. So displaying a block on phones when the mobile theme is active is not possible. You can check how the mobile theme looks by visiting this demo with a phone or with a browser emulator – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_local_news/
However we introduced in he latest update a setting which can now be used to disable the mobile theme per page or post. So for example the homepage on mobile can be made to not use the mobile theme and will display the content from desktop, while the rest of the website will. This was a much requested feature, now it is possible.
The setting is found in the page/post edit screen in Gutenberg – http://prntscr.com/oisnlc
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Hi Simion,
Thanks for your reply.
We had previously updated the site to V9.7.3 as per tagDiv’s guidance. Everything worked fine. The search worked fine. Only once we updated to v9.7.4 did we have the issue.
Am getting the authors of the Directory Listings plugin to check the effectiveness of their plugin when it comes to the search side of things.
Thanks for your info about other search plugins.
Regards
Ian
