Hi,
Unfortunately, for the moment in order to have the lazyload on mobile you need to use the responsive version or to find a plugin for lazyload that is compatible with mobile theme plugin.
There are some new features for mobile theme in coming updates, I think that this can be one of them.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
@mario118 That would be the theme javascript, which is being loaded from the composer plugin now after the recent updates. Basically most of the theme files are now in the composer plugin, so now they are being loaded from there.
From what I can see there are other resources that are detected by the test
– https://www.screencast.com/t/mc7djU27HzE
There is also an image that provided a 404, this could slow the down the website by quite some time – https://www.screencast.com/t/2t9pe16R
Seems to be related to the mobile header, I suggest that you edit the cloud header with the composer and check the backgrounds on the rows, if there is an image there remove it, or set a different one – https://www.screencast.com/t/WL2jvNdBT
The cloud templates don’t have a stylesheet or any files, all their settings are in the composer. Their CSS settings are generated dynamically.
@budditbud You could begin by checking if the theme requirements are met
– https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/
Check PHP version, wp-memory etc and if needed make the necessary adjustments where needed.
Thanks
Hi,
Modules can’t display custom elements, they can only display what is defined in their code which would be these – https://www.screencast.com/t/niq5wsVYccX
They can display the main category of the post, the primary category
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/
But they can’t display the tags, or a specific tag that post has.
This could maybe be done by making code modifications to the module files, but they will be lost after theme updates, when the plugins will be updated as well.
Thanks
Yes @momoko,
with the normal Newspaper theme the problem will not occur. According to tagDiv with 9.7.3 only styles.css and functions.php will work for child themes, which is quite ridiculous because normally you use a child theme for different kind of header-files etc. tagDiv says this is because of the new Envato rules, but a theme without the use of a child theme does not make sense in WordPress.
Due to the fact, that the update and the fix of this really bad bug lasts that long, I hope, that tagDiv is able to bring back a better support for child themes. As you can see in the forum, a lot of people use a child theme for Newspaper and it’s very bad that 9.7.3 just canceled the support for child themes without a warning.
So let’s keep our fingers crossed, tagDiv is able to fix this and support a wider use of child themes.
Hi,
Maybe you have (or the plugin has automatically) updated WPBakery to version 6.0.3. I have seen some similar reports from our users mentioning issues with the latest WPBakery version.
We recommend that you do not update WPBakery when available (purchased plugin)
The current WPBakery included in the theme package is version 6.0.2, which works with the theme just fine.
If what I mentioned above is correct, please remove the 6.0.3 WPBakery and install the previous version. It should solve the problem. We will include the new plugin in the next theme update, after we test it.
Thanks
Hello !
We are sorry for your inconvenience !
It is mandatory to delete all what was left from the older version before intalling this update. Overwriting the files would cause a lot of problems and maybe you’ve missed something while deleting the old files. Have you checked the plugins to be deleted too ? If you are certain that you have installed the updates correctly by deleting all of the older versions and made a clean install from scratch please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Also take a look at our documentation about installing the theme and plugins: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-plugins-and-update-plugins/ ; https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-newspaper-theme/
Thank you !
Hi,
Maybe there is a conflict between the composer and the plugin. Does it happen if only the theme plugins and the membership plugin are active?
The composer has to be active at all times after the latest theme updates, as most of the theme files are now located in it.
We haven’t made any testing with the theme or theme plugins and any membership plugin unfortunately. So I can’t say what the problem would be in this case. Conflicts may happen, not all plugins work with all other plugins or themes.
Thanks
Hi,
Plugins for captcha may work for the default WordPress login page, but they most likely wont appear in the theme login modal. The modal will only display what is defined in it’s code, and at the moment the theme doesn’t have the capability to display a captcha.
So displaying additional elements in the modal could only be done by manually adding the code for them in the modal window file (located in the tagDiv composer plugin), which is not a future proof method. As the plugins get updated along theme updates, the modifications will be lost.
Thanks
Hello !
You can delete the theme from wordpress and also the theme related plugins and install them again. Make sure that they are all activated and up to date. You can do this also from FTP.
Also take a look at our documentation about installing the theme and plugins: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-plugins-and-update-plugins/ ; https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-newspaper-theme/
Also, I have checked your license and I saw that your support is expired, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/9NXJu9lJpBw Further, if you want to help you on the email with some deeper investigations, you will need to extend your license.
Both Newspaper Theme and Newsmag Theme are supported by the tagDiv team accordingly to the ThemeForest Item Support Policy -> https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy. In summary, the Themeforest policy states that once you purchase the theme, you receive a 6 months customer support period with the possibility to extend the support to 12 months if you need further assistance and if you choose so.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
Since Newspaper v9.7 the child theme is working only for the functions.php and style.css files.
We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Unfortunately I can not say if there will be some problems, or not with child theme in coming updates, the better solution will be to not use the child theme only if you rely need of it; also, now you can make a lots of customization using tagDiv Composer , Header Manager and tagDiv Cloud Library.
Thank you!
Hi,

We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
if you want you can try the implementation for the child theme provide by an user in this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/issue-with-9-7-update-changes-single_template_-in-child-theme/
Thank you for your understanding!
@Themisic yes totally agree. Tagdiv always give a simple ans that please diable mobile theme if you want a function to work, which is not the solution. If there is something faster make it/fix it so that it becomes better and the users are not penalised.
Everyone has to work according to Google, that is why one installs a theme so that it will be future ready. But they try to do their best, even if a bit slow.
Have not found a solution to lazy load in mobile theme till now.
@pulsatemedia lot of issues, with the new Google algo update, which TagDiv theme is not ready for, one is this lazy load. Next WebP, luckily that solves with an additonal plugin. Then there is speed issue which this theme is at the low end of. Also resource issue. The list we have encountered is quite big. Am sure, in the next update they will cover all these.
I have updated my newspaper theme from version 9.5 to 9.7.3 two days ago. Before update, everything was okay. After update, I have seen my theme panel header top bar layout which was set at style-1, is now working like style-3 (alignment issue) even after still set it at style-1. I have seen that only ‘Style 3’ and ‘Style 1-Multipurpose’ top bar layout is working perfectly, but the other three style is not working as per setting. In all cases, ‘header style’ was set at ‘style 5’. I have not changed any setting in theme panel after update.
Hello, After updating newspaper & wordpress to the latest version, I have some issues:
1. Problem ONE !
All my posts has turned to AMP: Disabled and when I click on edit this message appears: There are no supported templates to display this in AMP.
PS: I installed AMP plugin + Newspaper mobile theme. & I had set Website Mode Transitional in AMP settings.
(( before update, when I search posts in google from my website via, it always redirect me to AMP version, however, after update this is not happening anymore. ))
2. Problem TWO !
After updating, the xml rpc is not working anymore. I contacted WordPress APP support, and after conducting their test, I had errors in the following:
wp.getTags
wp.getPostStatusList
wp.getComments
wp.getPageList
metaweblog.newMediaObject
And they told that either the Theme or plugins are making conflicts.
3. Problem THREE !
Is there any Shortcode to use to add ADVERTISEMENTS in middle of posts ( like for instance between paragraphs ) ? or should I use 3rd party adsense plugins
4. IS NEWSPAPER compatible with Polylang ? or we should only use WPML paid version. ?
5. Is there a way to show an LTR TEXT in RTL POST ( my Newspaper theme is set to Arabic )
Thank you in advance.
Hello @momoko
a well known (and severe) bug in 9.7.3 especially when using a child theme. Although it exists now since about a month, tagDiv still has no release date for a fix or update.
See https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/bug-in-9-7-3-child-theme-does-not-use-custom-single-templates/
Any other experiences so far? Or any temporary fix until an update which will cover it is out.
Reverting to the normal theme in order to have lazy loading enabled is not actually an option since its completely outside the scope of the speed purpose to discard advantages of the mobile theme just for the lazy loading functions.
@Themesic
I have tried putting in other lazy load like A3 plugin, but nothing works, tagdiv mobile code seems to be not lazy load ready/friendly. Google’s new algo update is also working adversely for newspaper theme, not SEO friendly since march 2019. maybe next update from them fixes these two issues.
Hi,
I’m testing theme updates on Local.
Ver9.2.2 ⇒ Ver9.7.3
There is a problem that “Single Cloud Template” is not reflected.
Even if it is specified in Theme panel, it is not reflected.
It will not be reflected even if I change it to something else.

Even under the post screen, changes will not be reflected.

Cloud Templates has “All Posts” without problems in Used On …

What should I fix?
Due to this bug, the theme of production can not be updated.
Hello,
Ever since the recent update that moved around some support from the newspaper-child theme, my websites performance has been impacted. It takes now over 25-30s to load the homepage. It use to take under 5s before the update.
Under “defer parsing of javascript” in GTmetrix, there’s a line that says /wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/newspaper/js/tagdiv_them.min-9.7.3.js. What is this?
Is anyone else having performance issues?
Hi Team,
My AMP plugin got updated to the latest version 1.2.0 and it messed up with the theme.
If i select Mobile+Amp feature on, the whole website is getting messed up.
Tried disabling all other plugins, reinstalling TD Composer, same issue.
Please fix the compatibility with AMP 1.2.0
I have to disable the Mobile+AMP feature to keep my site running.
Thanks Calin for your reply.
Your suggestions helped move me along to a solution.
It turned out that there was an update needed on the stock quotes source site to white list my new site location. It was but something was messed up in cloning/developing/replacing the site. That was fixed and quotes now display correctly.
I couldn’t get the title font for Block 8/Module 7 to adjust to the settings in either the theme panel or the TDComposer Elements Style settings. I did a search and found I’d added some custom CSS in the past that globally said that ‘entry-title’ should be 21px !Important. I removed the !Important and now the local, granular CSS settings are in control.
I have two questions.
What is your preferred Developer viewer to best track the source of page errors? I’ve used the Tools on Chrome and Firefox. What is your first go-to tool?
Second, While updating my site (marketwisetrader.com) I tried to rebuild some essential pages (home, store,..) using the front end TDComposer. It doesn’t have as many block elements to work with but it seems that Newspaper programmers are shifting that direction. On my home page, in Composer view, a yellow warning pops up saying ‘This page was not made with TDComposer’. As best I can remember I started with my home page built with Page Buider, then replaced all rows, columns, and elements from the Composer dashboard. But the page still says, ‘Not built with TDComposer’. Will this create problems for me in the future? Do I have to begin with a new white page and Composer?
Thanks,
Lon Kaufmann
Hey Tagdiv team,
I am frustrated by the modal image issue. I have contacted you on contact@tagdiv.com (2-3 days after 9.7.3 update) but do not get a response.
I want to roll back to the 9.7.2 theme. Please send me that theme file on my email as I can not get it on ThemeForest (as they have the latest theme).
Please reply ASAP.
i can’t do any change on pages or posts with editor visual composer in WP 5.2.2 with newspaper 9.7.3 ?
what is the problem ?
thank’s for your help ?
Hello. We’ve been using the theme for a few years now with no issue. I realize this is a major update, so we’ve set up a dev version of our site to test the update on, and when I activate 9.7, the theme breaks badly. We’ve used WPBakery as our main visual composer since we initially set up the theme. Typically when we’ve done an update we’ll see some issues, but when I deactivate the TagDiv Composer, everything clears up. This isn’t the case with 9.7. What should I do?
No i havent deleted the old files first. I just updated it from dashboard. So how do i solve this situation?
