I updated theme and all plugins….took site down. So I restored to an older version…so my site is up…I just can’t edit post. Can you help?

I am not an expert so i have my website on wordpress.com. After the recent Newspaper-Update my website ( https://ipad-in-der.schule ) went straight down.
First of all the tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Mobile Theme were deactivated, WordPress told that they are not compatible with the WordPress version.
I contacted WordPress-Support and they also told me they cannot reactivate the plugins.
The website at this point only showed the template and code instead of content – but the design was still visible.

Guided by the WordPress-Support i rewinded the website to a point four days ago (before the update) which leaded to a total breakdown of the website. During the process i got an email with the message “Ein Fehler vom Typ E_COMPILE_ERROR wurde in der Zeile 14 der Datei /srv/htdocs/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/functions.php verursacht. Fehlermeldung: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘td_deploy_mode.php’ (include_path=’/:.’)”.
Now, the website is down and WordPress-Support could not help me anymore. They told me to contact you.

What can i do?
This is really bad as i put a lot of work in my website and after the update i just went down…

Is there any workaround to fix this problem?

Hi,

I had recently updated to the latest version.
But now the posts are not appearing properly. All the content is cut into half. This issue is in all the devices, PC as well as mobile.

The pages are coming correct.

I have a 7 menu item page website and whenever I update one menu for eg. DEALS it updates all the others too and I dont know what to change in order for each menu to be updated individually.

Also my menu have ‘category’ in the url example websitename.com/category/deals

Can someone tell me how to fix my site? Since the update, my featured images don’t appear nor do any other images. The social media icons are giant, the menu item disappears when hovered over and there’s a load of script stuff at the bottom on every article.

I read it’s to do with the child theme but I’m not very tech savvy and don’t know how to switch it over or disable it. I’m feeling like I should downgrade to a previous version of the theme.

I was running the following site on Bimber and all was smooth until I decided to jump ship and install the Newspaper theme:

The theme has given me hell for a good week now. 503 errors, 404 errors and a world of others errors, mostly when in the wordpress admin area. I checked cpanel and I have plenty of space and considering I get limited hits bandwidth is also not an issue (hosting through GoDaddy). Please do give me suggestions as to what the problem could be. Sometimes the site works for 15-20 min smoothly but then it can take 1 hour to add one post; several errors, most of them go away in 30-40 seconds by simply refreshing the page.

For example, when I want to update the blog, I click update and wait 5 minutes. Nothing happens or an error occurs. I refresh the page, try again, and 50 percent of the time it works without any issue.

This has only occurred after the switch over to Newspaper. Need help!

I do not have a technical web development background so my knowledge of word press may be considered limited in comparison to the people here.

i just updated my wordpress and now have to face the ‘problems’ of Gutenberg. In the old editor you used to implement ‘text padding’. Is this gone with the new Gutenberg editor? If yes, is there any way to solve this problem, because all of our texts work with paddings.

I noticed that when using Cloud Templates for post settings, the translation to other languages isn’t working.
For example, things like “By”, “Last updated” or the date format itself is not being translated. This does not happen with a non-Cloud Template. Anything I can do to change this? Thanks!

after i update newspaper to V 9.7.3 i have problem to install tagdiv composer ( download failed forbiden ) why?

I’m running newspaper version (9.7.3) I’m getting this security alert from VaultPress

The theme newspaper (version 9.2.2) has a publicly known vulnerability. It is recommended to deactivate and remove this theme until a new version is released.

Can you update that file to include a proper version number. I’va also had an issue with Cloudflare, where my site went down and the only way to get it back up without running Cloudflare’s “under attack mode” was to disable the td-composer plugin.

I had to reload WordPress and the newspaper theme to get it to work with composer again. Now I’m getting the VaultPress alert, which I assume I can ignore.

Usually after updating the Newspaper theme, I would manually update functions.php to include scripts by Google Tag Manager (and other stuff). But after updating to version 9.7.3, doing this breaks the entire website. May I know what’s going on?

Basically I’m adding a few add_action and add_filter to functions.php
