I have just updated the theme and my entire site has changed. Lines of code are now visible everywhere. HELP! https:/www.gastrotravelogue.com My homepage has also lost its default sidebar. My old homepage has vanished
Thanks for the prompt reply! The strange thing is that I didn’t update the theme at all yesterday or today. I just logged in WordPress just to find out that my tagdiv composer plugin was disabled automatically. BUT there was an option to update it. Isn’t that weird? In the meantime, I hadn’t installed any new plugins so I really can’t tell what had happened.
Thanks for your support. The problem was the plugin “Table of Contents Plus” with php 7.3. The plugin has not been updated for some time
Hi
I have the next problem, I updated the theme to the last version but the titles of the blocks dont have the separation like the old version, how can i correct this?
Kind regards
Thank you Simion!
First of all I want to note that I understand that all changes will be lost in case of theme update.

Hi,
That would depend on how you made this formatting. If you made any modifications or additions to the theme files these will be lost after the update, since the old files will be replaced. Theme customization should be made either through the theme panel custom code section where applicable, or using a child theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
A child theme is useful if you want to modify theme files, the guide mentions which files are supported and how to proceed.
Thanks
Hi,
After you update the theme, the tagDiv composer should be updated automatically. But in some cases this automatic process seems to fail, in this case the composer will be remain deactivated. So when you update the theme please monitor this carefully and if needed update the composer manually.
The automatic update process for the composer is still being improved, it works in most cases but there are exceptions. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks
Hello
I need to update my theme to address the broken instagram link of newspaper in my current theme. I have been told that the most up today Newspaper theme addresses and fixes that issue.
However I don’t want to lose all my formatting and style and I want my site to look exactly as it does. I updated the theme and lost all formatting and style and had to revert to a backup to get my site back up to what it was before.
Someone has suggested a ‘child theme’ may prevent this from happening? Is this correct and how would I do or use that please?
Hi!
This has happened twice already: I log on to my website just to find out that the tag div composer has been disabled and my website breaks. Again this morning tag div composer was disabled automatically. I think this might be happening every time there is a new tag div composer update, for a strange reason my previous version gets disabled until I press on the update button. Is this a bug?
When I try to log into Filezilla I get this message:
You appear to be behind a NAT router. Please configure the passive mode settings and forward a range of ports in your router.
Warning: FTP over TLS is not enabled, users cannot securely log in.
I’m not quite sure what to do at this point. I watched the tutorial that was recommended by you guys, but it doesn’t address this problem.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
Hello,
Indeed, this was pointed to us by other users as well. On smaller screens the button is missing. A quick fix is to use the browser zoom option until the next update where we will implement a fix for this issue.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi,
Super cache will serve the cached version of the website to non-logged users, try installing it and check while not logged in. Admins or logged users will not be served with cached content. We have a guide for it, the interface of the plugin changed but most of the settings are the same
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Try to minify the CSS as well, minify it manually
– https://cssminifier.com/
Or try as suggested here in this topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
I see only one error in the website, related to some plugin
– https://www.screencast.com/t/wEShUcm6qJrt
That might not cause slow loading speed however.
You should also consider using the latest version of theme theme when available, there are fixes and improvements with each update. Since 8.7.5 the theme is also GDPR compliant as well. This is an update guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Any update please?
Hello,
You do not seem to have a page builder installed. Please access the plugins section of the theme as most likely your plugins have been disabled automatically by the theme and need updating.
Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/
Thank you!
Hi,
Sorry for misunderstanding. That message is displayed if you are not using theme version 8.8 or later, or if you use an incompatible version of PHP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Use at least PHP 5.4 or greater and the theme versions I mentioned and there should be no problem
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks
Than you could make backups of the files you modify, then check after each update if they have been modified. If they were modified by us, check if your modifications work as before, if they were not modified replace theme with your backup. This would be a solution.
Hello,
Sorry but there is no simple solution to this issue. I cannot offer a solution instantly. I have added this to our list for future updates and we will fix this and figure out a functionality that works best for mobiles as well.
Thank you!
Hi,
@InstallationComplete The elements you mention are not supposed to be present in the composer as an option to be placed in pages, they will not work. Please do not use them in pages, we will release a new update as soon as possible for Newspaper and fix this and other issues. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
Update,
I see that this text from share buttons only show when post dont have much text.

Hi,
Just updated to Newspaper 8.8.1 and would like to use a template from the CLoud Library but when I click onto the template I would like to use there is no option to import the template to my site.
Has anyone else had this problem? Anybody know how to fix it?
Hi there,
On my site, aspenreallife.com, the instagram widget isn’t working as expected. The videos aren’t showing and just showing a blank image icon. We updated to the latest version of the theme and updated all of the plugins, but that hasn’t worked.
How can we fix this?
Thanks for the help!
I’ve recently updated to version 8.8 and imported one of the multipurpose demos. So far so good…
After i changed some of the pages with my info, i tried importing some demo sections from the cloud and the import process hangs. I received the following error in console:
js_files_for_wp_admin.min.js?ver=dee196c4efff2c8bf5c2ff4c4b4e736e:137 [Vue warn]: Error in nextTick: “InvalidCharacterError: Failed to execute ‘btoa’ on ‘Window’: The string to be encoded contains characters outside of the Latin1 range.”
This happens only on pages i’ve edited and added info and not on empty pages.
I then tried importing the section on an empty page. I saved the row and tried importing it to the page i want. On the editor preview it shows, but on the actual page it is as if it does not exist.
Please help
since i have update i have this message : 502 Bad Gateway
nginx
can you help ?
Regards
Oh no, you don’t understand me. I mean, in my particular case, there’s no point in using a child theme. Since the update of the main theme changes all the settings that I make – transfers, counters of visits.
In each update there could be the same or different theme files that are modified, it depends. We try to always display a list of these files.
You could make a local install, a copy of the main website, and test theme updates there first, this way you could spot eventual problems.
