Hello Guys,
I used your translations (Theme control > Translations) and they worked great, however, you guys have not provided an option for theme strings to switch back to English on simple click from user front-end. If the Newspaper had this feature, I would be 60% satisfied with my translation needs (I do not care to translate content language, only menus and strings).
Anyway, so I had to go with dreadful WPML ($195 full version)……………………… :-/ (your fault!) … š
Well, WPML has a String Translation option which picks up all of your Theme’s strings and I translated those while wiping up the ones in your theme control panel. This resulted in nothing. Your theme strings override what I input into WPML String Translation…
So, how can I fix this?? I am not so technical, but I have a guy who works for me, and hopefully your answer will mean much more to him than me. Or hopefully it is so simple and so detailed an answer that I can fix it myself.
Also, WHY can’t you just add an option for Theme strings to go back to English if end-user (site visitors) wants them? … It would not alleviate my other plugins on the site, but it would be a great start!! You guys could render WPML useless for users like me (and those guys are only 1/10th the programmers you guys are).
Hoping for replies…
(also hoping Chris S. is a freelancer whom I could hire in the future…haha)
@ineedsolutions thanksk, at least no longer displayed bad LOL XD
thanks to @ineedsolutions, gave an alternative, but should not be the solution via Custom CSS, should improve their updates
I am seriously considering, leaving newsmag as each upgrade, problems, incompatibilities with some plugins as wp-rocket, wpml swtich, should not be problem for a theme premium š

Hi,
Unfortunately for the moment we don’t plan to add wpml support as we have over 200 features on our list and we also work hard on development/support.
If you cannot use the theme, we can offer you with a full refund. Please contact us via email contact@tagdiv.com.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks for the message and for understanding!
Hi Lucian,
Thank you very much for the quick replay. That’s really a pitty, because I can’t work with two or more “theme-platforms” for each language.
I know, I should haved looked before buying, but think I need another theme now. The style and look of newsmag was my favourite and it is a bestseller with a good forum:)
I can’t afford to pay a developer for this project, because it is a private one – kind of family project for fun. I payed for a nice theme, but wouldn’t go any further, because the site doesn’t bring any money in (for now). New theme would be cheaper?!
Guess it very difficult to support WPML and what’s after an update?
I also think it’s your job:) It’s such a successful theme! Can’t you get a license and test things with WP multilinguale plugin? If you could try it in the next weeks, I would wait….for an update.
I guess WPM would help you, because of your nice theme.
This would be great news!
Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately I can offer you an accurate answer about this as we haven’t made any tests with the wpml plugin and from other reports we have the theme is not fully wpml ready at this point.
If you really need this, my advice is to hire a professional developer to help you adjust the theme code to be wpml ready.
The qTranslate plugin was initially tested and offered as solution for adding multilingual content and translation support but since it hasn’t been updated we haven’t tested it recently. As an alternative, you can use the qTranslate X plugin which is a descendant of qTranslate, which has apparently been abandoned by the original author.
If you own a wpml license you can also ask about this implementation on their support forum.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for understating!
Hi,
I started my blog with newsmag, but have to use WPML now, because two different systems is too much to handle and bad seo. qtranslate will not be developed in the future..and WPML is better documented and more professional.
Does the newsmag theme support WPML now?
I want to install it this week.
Thank you for the beautiful theme.
hi
is this Newspaper theme Multilingual Compatible? or compatible to WPML? is it certified by WPML?
if not when will it be?
thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately I can offer you an accurate answer about this as we haven’t made any tests with the wpml plugin and from other reports we have the theme is not fully wpml ready at this point but we have this on our issue list and we are still investigate this.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for understating!
Thanks
Is it any better support for WPML now in December? I haven’t bought it yet but was going to until I found this post. Can you change the Logo in theme settings by language at least?
It isn’t possible to use WPML?
Hi,
Please try this:
– http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/
– http://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/#8
Hope this helps!
Thanks
I would check the WPML support or user forums
eg.,
http://wpml.org/forums/topic/category-and-tag-links-not-working/
Good News & Bad News. We switch off all plugins and switched them back on one by one and found the problem…
Good News: We found out that the WPML plugin is causing the Tags to 404.
Bad News: We don’t know how to fix it. We don’t know where it is causing to to break.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks
David

Hi,
I have checked your site and noticed that the load more feature also doesn’t work on the main page. Please give us wp-access so we can check this, send you wp-admin user and password at contact@tagdiv.com and specify this issue or provide a link to this topic.
Thanks

Please make sure that you don’t have any js errors in the console also please deactivate all plugins and try again. If this issue is still present please provide your site’s URL so I can check this.

I installed W3 Cache and scanned website with P3 – Plugin Performance Profiler and received these results:

As I see WPML is causing huge delay in loading. Do you have any suggestions about this?
Load More not working with WPML other language. Do you have any fix for that?

I suppose HERE is good since we are paying customers and this forum IS supposed to offer a place for support…
+ maybe others can find it helpful in the future as well, who knows…
My main menu with WPML language switcher: http://screencast.com/t/JY2sLaaQZHtH
Well, putting the language switcher on the main-menu:
- You set the main-menu on the theme panel > header > Main Menu > Header Main Menu <br>
- You can verify this on Appearance > Menus > Manage Locations (but I think it syncs automatically)
- WPML > Languages > Language switcher in the WP Menu <br>
- Check “Display the language switcher in the WP Menu” & choose the same menu you set for the main-menu
- Do all that for the default language that you set for WPML originally & use “WPML > WP Menus Sync” to keep the menu’s sync across languages (where needed).
As for the CSS modifications, add the following to your custom CSS on the theme panel:
/* Menu Language Switcher */
.sf-menu .menu-item-language > a {
display: inline-block;
}
.sf-menu .menu-item-language > a {
text-decoration: none !important;
}
.sf-menu .menu-item-language > a {
display: block;
position: relative;
}
.sf-menu .menu-item-language > ul.sub-menu > li {
direction: ltr;
text-align: left;
}
.sf-menu .menu-item-language > ul.sub-menu > li a {
padding-right: 29px;
min-width: 1px;
padding: 0px 11px 0px 11px;
height: 48px;
line-height: 51px;
font-size: 16px;
color: #202020;
z-index: 9999;
}
.menu-item-language img.iclflag {
margin: 0 4px;
}
/* Menu Upgrade */
There’s a bit more if you are using RTL language…

virtualida. Reason: adding some image links to show what it should look like
@Lucian I must admit you gave the BEST and WORST response possible.
The best: simply because you admitted that
“Unfortunately we can not offer support for WPML”
which basically tells me to stop asking questions with regard to WPML.
The worst: because I purchased your theme, purchased WPML, invested HOURS to configure everything to be only let down that you will
remove the WMPL compatibility statement from themeās presentation page
as well as
If you are unhappy with our theme we can offer you a refund.
I know where I stand now, I have no real choice but to continue developing on what I have, I have invested too much time to switch themes now, and WPML is at least supported by their developers whereas qTranslate has no guarantees since it’s free.
@virtualida I would definitely appreciate any help you can give me, we can keep it here in an open forum or switch to PM, whichever you prefer.
What I need to know is how to add the language bar to the MAIN MENU and have it take the proper CSS styling. Have you done that?
Yeaā¦
That’s the answer I got after spending much time adjusting my implementation to the theme⦠not a high priority at this point for Tagdiv š
Well, the good news for you @mo-tech is that I was pretty stubborn this time and followed up with WPML trying to find all sorts of workarounds for the things that troubled me so I might be able to give you a few tips if I know what you are trying to accomplish.
(With their 199$ version ā chances are you can get the Multilanguage aspects ā maybe not from the theme panel but using the string translation features).
BTW
In expressing my frustration from the above via the review @ Themeforest, certain members of Tagdiv support seem to have gotten the impression they can “excommunicate” and avoid providing support on my ticketsā¦
