I saw this in the latest changelog:

fix: tdLoadingBox.js script was loading when it wasn’t supposed to;

Now the tdloadingbox.js wont load, but the fade-in animation of the menue in desktop is still there and is operated via jquery.js (correct me if im wrong). I dont know who needs to have this menue animation on every page load. This is just unnecessary in my opinion. Cant you make this fade in animation optional so that i can deactivate it in the tagdiv composer? Because i still cant defer the jquery.js, because then the menue wont show in desktop.

Infinite loading is not active also mega Menu is not active. I checked everything. You can see for yourself: 4kfilme.de.

The tdloadingbox.js is in my understanding only there for slowly fading the menue in. And because the .js is using jquery.js, if i want to defer jquery.js (via caching plugin) for performance purposes, the menu doesn’t show at all. It’s just an animation. Correct me if i’m wrong.

I could raise my pagespeed about 8 points only for defering jquery.js, but i cant, because then the menu on desktop wont show… this is just an necessary feature.

I also really want to get rid of tdloadingbox.js and tdinfiniteloader.js, its only a source for problems regarding caching plugins etc. especially tdloadingbox.js. I really cant find a way to deactivate the tdloadingbox.js like, this should be a checkbox in the composer for the header template.

Do we get a feedback from the admins? I will not update the theme again with the chance of fucking up my server again and have to reinstall a backup. Also, if its working again, it would be appreciated, if the admins would give us a hint, why it happend.

Same problem, my site got completely shut down “504-Gateway-Timeout”/”500 error”. After “tagDiv Composer

This update shoudn’t be distributed anymore…

How do you determin the “popularity of a request” for new features. Is there a poll or a site where people send their requests? If so, i’m not familiar with it.

So it’s already fixed (i think you forgot to activate some of the plugins?). So, you could delete this post?

Hear hear!!! Very good summary. The review-shema of the theme is really really basic and needs improvement asap. I have used in the beginning when switching to newspaper but stopped, cause there was no improvement in sight. 3 review styles (stars, percent and points) but in the review/article loop you can only show stars? Why not a box with percentage or points that change color based on the points (85+ is green, 65+ is orange under 65 is red… something like that).

And implementing new features that some won’t even need but the files are still loaded and will chunk up my website. No thanks. Also in the forum, the first article should be changelog and the second should be proposals for fixes and features (maybe with a ranking/voting system) – both pinned to the top. Something like a github for new and known problems/issues would be nice so that the community could give better feedback and know what tagdiv is working on.

Also, the implementation of pictures with like 20 different sizes… is that normal? They could downsize the quantity of picture-sizes. I know i can deactivate some of the sizes in the backend, but still, seems kind of chaotic and not well coded.

And yes, it really feels like the team is focusing on everything else, but what the theme should be “Newspaper” means content, news, articles, features, reviews. Not a Page to show the current corona-infections.

Like Shortcodes in articles to show the last 3-5 articles to a certain tag/category. Something like that. The tagdiv gallery… omg. Fix it, make it more accessible and give us additional options.

For ads, it would be great, if you could upload 3 different ad-codes for mobile, landscape and desktop for every ad-slot. The placement of the ads is really not optimal.

12.1 to 12.5 should be quality upgrades, no feature bullshit pls.

Edit: I just checked, also my mobile single template for articles does’nt show if im not logged in. Tried with 3 differend mobile devices 2 with different mobile providers (not over wifi) and i won’t get the mobile optimised single template i made and activated (globally)

Did the Problem get solved? I got the same Problem… just stumbled upon and i can’t get it to work. Activated Modal Images, cleared Cache, checked custom css… it only works manually at the moment.

It has been Green since 4 Years… you should really start to look into the bugs and stop answering with standard feedback like a machine. This is really anoying. Everytime someone is posting a bug (and there are many of them) you tell them to check the system status and deactivate all the plugins, hoping they won’t get back to you again. That is not how Support works…

Was the Problem resolved? If so, what was the Problem? I also got this error and i dont want to send admin url, cPanel etc. every time, there is a obvious problem with the theme…

I tested the WP Rocket Plugin for the last couple Days… Pretty good results. I found one Problem. If i activate “Load Javascript deffered” the td post counter stops working (wont add visits to the current count). I activated and deactivated ajax counting, no difference. If i deactivae, the visits will be counted again.

Do you know a fix for this problem? Can i exclude a specific javascript to continue counting?

Thats great to hear. I found a “workaround”, but it would be great, if one of your coders would optimise the thumbs, so that the optimal thumb is shown on every device.

I just recently switched from wp super cache to wp rocket. It’s makes a biiiiig difference in page-speed.

Here is the example. It looks pretty, but its “ugly on the inside”. Both desktop and mobile using the same 324×235 picture (15.4kb). If the 100×70 Version would be used in mobile (2.9kb) the image filesize would shrink 80%+…

I agree… the css are pretty big, even if theres no custum code and a pretty slim page… when will the developers get to this problem?

I think thats one of the biggest flaws of the theme. I would recommend a seperate mobile menue, one that the user could assign. So you have your regular main menue (you can use with sites) and your mobile menue (assigned in the theme panel). Also a mega dropdown menue would be the bomb. The team should really look into this. the menue structure is crucial to every page. Im with Stefan on this one!
