Hi,

The speed booster plugin is optional that moves the css and js at the end of the page, this removes render blocking and improves the score on pagespeed. But also to have a good score is recommend to use less plugins.
Many plugins do not respect the google pagespeed recommendations of punting javascript at the end of the page and they just try to use jQuery in the middle of the page. This slows the site down and it also enforces the requirement that jQuery has to be in the header instead of the footer how Google recommends(this is the developer explanation).
We will try to improve this in future, but we don’t have a better solution for the moment.

Hi,

Please make sure that your child theme version is the same like the main theme and acctivate it. You have to see what module you need to be overwritten by the child theme, and copy it the the child theme under a similar directory structure (…/child_theme_name/includes/modules/), like it is specified in the documentation.

Please check this without CDN(disable if you use it), also disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer and clear cache. Then regenerate your thumbnails again and see if you still have this issue.

Unfortunately you will need custom work to change the width for post content when you use sidebar, as like you already said it breaks the layout and you will have to customize all other post’s elements. Please make sure that you update the theme properly using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ as I have checked your site and it appears version 4 – http://screencast.com/t/bHtjEKdLn1i Also update the plugins that come with the theme’s files from the /plugins folder and run the script like it is suggested in the documentation(it will import settings, rename shortcode..). Please note that Newspaper 6 is a new theme so old files customization, custom css will not work anymore so you will have to customize it again, it is not necessarily to update the theme gradually(question 2). Also you will have to re-add the widgets to your sidebars as they will become inactive.

A lot of people install the plugin without knowing what it does and after that they add many plugins and some of the them are not written fine so the developer took this decision.

If you use smaller featured image than the size of the thumb, please note that WordPress doesn’t enlarge images and you will need to use plugin like Thumbnail Upscale to enlarge thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ For upscale use a combination of plugins Thumbnail Upscale + Force Regenerate.

Do you use version 4 of the theme? If you do please note that on our demo is used latest version of the theme 6.3.2. Also in version 4 IOS Slider is available and it can be used on 1,2 or 3 columns. Please note that there’s no ideal image size, the modules have thumbs with different aspect ratios and a part of the image may get lost on the cropping process. Please make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups deactivate all plugins and do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one and also update the plugins that come with the theme’s files(VC, Social Counter…). After update you can run the script like it is suggested in the upgrade guide. Please note that Newspaper 6 is a new theme so old files customization, custom css will not work anymore so you will have to customize it again, it is not necessarily to update the theme gradually(question 2). Also you will have to re-add the widgets to your sidebar(s) as they will become inactive.
