Thanks for the clarification. My thumbnail upscale plugin is on but for some reason it doesn’t seem to work. Not your fault :-). Looks like it may be easier to just create a bigger size image for the biggest grid as the issue could be with Visual Composer and not with the theme.

The code you provided does set the color but then quickly changes back to what is set in theme panel color. Looks like the theme panel color setting overrides the new setting…?!

Yes Chris, I did read your post but it’s possible the upscale plugin was deactivated when I uploaded that particular image. I will monitor future uploads and results keeping upscale on. Thanks.

So far I can understand upscale will do its magic on new uploads, but what about the hundreds of other images that are already uploaded and attached? (I have switched to Newspaper from another theme). To keep my old thumbnails I have used the Regenerate thumbnails plugins. Do you think if instead I use Force Regenerate it will make a difference? The problem of white space only appears on Grids, not on post pages. The same featured images look full width on posts if I changes the Post setting to show them as such.

I thought the theme would resize / expand newly uploaded images according to the chosen grid size and then crop it as described in the documentation. Have I misunderstood it? Any clue as to what could be going wrong? Thanks.

That was very helpful! One more question before I delete the old thumbs. What could potentially go wrong if I keep thumbnails from both the themes? Can it affect the speed performance? I would like to hear your opinion. I am asking as I am thinking what if I want to switch back and forth between the old theme and your theme for some reason… Or say I want readers to choose between the old and the new theme. In that case if the old thumbs are there then they can come to ready use. Is that correct? Most probably I will delete the old thumbs as you suggested but your reply to this will surely help. Thanks Catalin. I think I have figured out the reason. Correct me if I am wrong. What I find in your demo files, you have placed widgets at the bottom of the sidebars and the smart function works only with what we place using widgets function, not with other elements placed using page builder in the third column where sidebars usually sit. Is it? I will refer to the links you sent.

Hello Catalin, thanks for visiting our website but the one you checked is running the old theme as I am still working on Newspaper and haven’t yet switched due to different reasons. With Newspapers the logo looks like this https://gyazo.com/8ab828ee1ad6320b573d590eaac9bb66 , and that is after removing white space on the left side in the original logo. It still doesn’t align as I would like it to be, i.e. the logo needs to appear the way it appears in the screenshot you sent from my currently running theme, but with Newspaper I am not able to set it right. Would greatly appreciate a solution. Thanks.

Can you tell me which settings are saved in the database and which are not? are the codes entered in Custom codes also saved? Basically I am trying to figure out whether to use Child theme or not.

Thanks. One suggestion is, it would greatly help if the theme documentation says what are the default parameters for different settings.

One more question- After making all changes, when I upgrade the Theme (whenever you release new versions) will I lose all settings?

1) You said the font color comes from the Theme color setup. Fine. I assumed it.

2) If I want a color other then what I set in the Theme color setup, I need to specify it as in the code above.

3) Text alignments can only be set by entering the above code.
