Hi Simion,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Here’s the link to the website:
You can see the big grid in the middle with the dark title color.
Thanks,
Shay
Hi Alin,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I deactivated all plugins and then activated one by one – the problem is with the: tagDiv Speed Booster.
I updated to the latest tagDiv Speed Booster, but the problem still persists.
Thanks!
Thanks Alin!
works great…
Have a great weekend!
Hi Alin!
Thanks for the quick reply.
Regarding the Post Title color – as mentioned – in the Custom Typography (from panel theme) – the color set for the Post Title is this: cc3d00 (which is red/orange) – and not black as it is.
I think some CSS is required again…
Please advise,
Thanks!
Hi there guys,
I just noticed another Text item that has changed it’s color.
My “Post Title Font” had this color: cc3d00
– but it somehow changed to gray – and will not change back again.
Does this need another CSS code?
In addition – is the new wordpress 4.3 compatible to the Newspaper v4 ?
Thanks!
You are not planning to release any security updates anymore to V4? That’s very disappointing. As mentioned – we tried updating to V6 but it completely ruined our website – we would need to redo the whole site and that’s just not acceptable.
I hope very much you do release security updates to V4.
Thanks
Thanks! Corrected it now and it’s working!
Hi Alin,
What do you mean by: “running the script will import your setting from database also it will change the shortcodes” – is there something I should do after doing the update in order to run a script to import my old settings? Can you send me the exact instructions for that?
Also – I indeed had some custom css – so I just need to copy these from the old theme and paste it into the custom css on the new theme?
Any more tips on to how to update in the smoothest possible way would be highly appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi Alin,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The problem is occurring on a Mac Desktop, only on Safari.
I didn’t encounter the issue on mobile.
You can see the stretched ad here:
http://www.screencast.com/t/S4DkNZPS
I’m using Newspaper version 444.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
So do I understand correctly that there is no way of updating to the new Newspaper 6 without messing up the whole website?
If it’s a totally new theme – meaning I will need to rebuild the homepage completely?
Because I tried to update according to the instructions and it messed up my website.
Thanks
OK – I re-uploaded all the files and now it’s fine…
But the new update to Newspaper 6 definitely doesn’t guys, after the update I would have needed to build the site from scratch again…I think you should mention that in the instructions…
Cheers!
Sorry! it’s OK…
I had to clear the cache on CloudFlare!
Thanks!
Hi there,
Well before sending you the email I changed the Header Style back to Style 1, because it looked bad with Style 3 and I couldn’t leave it like that.
I put it now again in Style 3 – and the problem persists.
Can you kindly check the site on Firefox and Safari?
Many thanks!
Hi Lucian,
I just sent you guys an email with the details of the issue + another issue I’m experiencing since updating to the new Newspaper version…Every update or edit I do to the content does not save…
Hope you guys can fix it,
Thanks and Happy New Year celebrations!
Hi Marius and Chris,
Thanks guys, I’m back from the beach…
Happy holidays to you too!
Well I tried all of the above:
1) I made sure I have done all that is said here: http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/wordpress/329-move-folders
2) I made sure this is without Home here: with your corect link to your site http://screencast.com/t/Qefb6jku
3) I tried Chris’s recommendation of adding these lines to the wp-config.php:
define(‘WP_HOME’, ‘http://yourwebsite.com’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’, ‘http://yourwebsite.com’);
Nothing worked, and still – when I press the “Search” button – it doesn’t do anything.
The only thing I didn’t try was your recommendation to delete the .htaccess from the server. I didn’t try that because the mere fact that I have a lot of 301-redirects in the .htaccess file that I can’t do without. Is there a way around that without hurting the 301-redirects in the .htaccess?
Thanks!
Thank you Chris and Marius for the great support!
Am out of town on the beach for the holidays, so will try your recommendations
when I’m back,
Wishing you guys a Merry christmas and a Happy new year!
Hi,
You mean just going to Permalinks and pressing save again?
Well I just did that, then cleared and purged cache, but it’s still not working.
Any more suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks!
Hi,
Did you try pressing the green “Search” button?
It’s not working on my side…
Thanks!
Hi Lucian,
I’m experiencing a similar problem with the search: when I press the search button nothing happens.
I tried what you recommended above – deactivating all plugins, purging cache etc., and it didn’t solve the issue.
I believe it might have something to do with the fact I had to move my WordPress installation from a subfolder to the root directory, according to the recommendations of my host:
http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/wordpress/329-move-folders
The initial subfolder was http://www.cobras.org/Home, so maybe the search engine is still fixed on that?
Thanks!
Thanks! Now it’s working…:-)
Hi Lucian,
Thanks for the quick reply, but it’s not working.
I added it to the css, purged cache and everything – but it’s still the same (white text color) on Firefox:
This is all the CSS changes I have so far, maybe there’s a conflict:
@-moz-document url-prefix() {
.sf-menu > .td-menu-item > a {
font-family: Roboto;
font-size: 14px;
line-height: 47px;
font-weight: bold;
text-transform: capitalize;
color: #ffffff;
}
}
.td-menu-placeholder {
top: 6px;
}
@media (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 1018px) {
.td-menu-placeholder {
top: 32px;
}
}
@-moz-document url-prefix() {
.td-header-menu-wrap li a {
color: red;
}
}
Hi again,
Following the same problem above with Firefox – I just changed the Top menu color to white and the Top menu Text color to #ee490f. It works fine one Chrome and Safari but on Firefox the Top menu text color is almost white and can’t be seen.
A few months ago I added already this CSS code to fix the main menu font issue:
@-moz-document url-prefix() {
.sf-menu > .td-menu-item > a {
font-family: Roboto;
font-size: 17px;
line-height: 47px;
font-weight: bold;
text-transform: capitalize;
color: #ffffff;
}
}
Please send me the code needed to fix this new problem..
Thanks!
Hi Lucian,
Thanks for the detailed explanations.
As you requested – here’s the screenshot of one of the missing author error window:
http://www.screencast.com/t/m0JeJdvq5k
I enabled the author box for now, but it’s not a feature I want to be present on each post – is there a way around it that it doesn’t need to show on each post?
Thanks!
Hi Lucian,
Thanks for the answer.
Two things:
1) Well I don’t understand how you get to your results of no errors for my site, because when I go into my Google Webmaster Tools, into: Structured Data > hentry, then I currently get 55 errors. This a screenshot of part of them. All errors are the MISSING AUTHOR.
http://www.screencast.com/t/uyTH9gxyB3v
2) The issue of td_d_slug page: I deleted all the pages and posts from the Demo long time ago, but there is something strange – as if the theme is automatically creating pages by it’s own?!?! I just noticed in Google Webmaster Tools, in the Crawl Errors, a list of 159 URL errors, most of them td_d_slug pages counting upwards. You can see these in this screenshot:
http://www.screencast.com/t/M9ldP8cLt
I never created these td_d_slug pages and can’t find them anywhere in my system.
I can see on that list many pages I deleted in the past, and they do not exist anymore on my wordpress. Is there a way to permanently delete these pages from the web?
Thanks!
Hi Lucian,
Thanks for the reply.
Sorry – I gave you the wrong URL, the wordpress theme is on this URL:
http://cobras.org/Home/
From my latest check on webmaster tools there are 96 Missing Author errors:
http://www.screencast.com/t/xdpzARo76c
Can you please elaborate on what it means to “enable the author”??
So should I replace these lines: <?php //echo $td_mod_single->get_author();?>
in each of the Single_Templates you mentioned with this line:
?> <span class=”vcard author post-author”><span class=”fn”> <?php echo $td_mod_single->get_author(); ?> </span></span> <?php
??
Thanks!
