Unfortunately, please notice that our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to turn off the cropping system, sorry! This system will automatically crop your images from center to top. So, if you do not like this functionality, you should edit the theme core files and try to implement your own cropping system if you know this, sorry! Notice that is not a simple task and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

If you want to use the Sidebar on your homepage or any page you want, you should use the layout 2/3+1/3 and for 1/3 column you should add the Widgetised sidebar where you should add any element you want. Also, a smart option for the sidebar in homepage might be the Smart Sidebar which can be enabled from Theme panel.
