The Newsmag theme has only a boxed version, there is no option to stretch it or remove the boxed version and I do not think this will be add soon.
If you need a theme where everything can be edited and adjusted you can try the Newspaper theme.

If the problem is related to the theme panel when you click on save button there is an infinite loading icon, then most probably something it is blocking the admin-ajax request, this can be checked using the console.

Yes, it seems that this problem appears due to the css tags in the remove_cloud_templates_for_non_admin function, there need to be used a different solution to not use the style tags when the add_action is used on admin_menu.
