The Newsmag theme does not have version 12, only 5.2.3. What you need to do is to check also the WordPress files, those can be also infected:
– Change admin passwords and delete admin accounts you are not familiar with;
– Delete any weird/unknown plugins;
– Delete the weird/unknown themes;
– Clean unfamiliar Theme Panel injected code (example – https://i.imgur.com/4q70kCv.png);
– Clean WordPress files (example – https://i.imgur.com/stJCqiK.png)

I understand what you mean, that element has the aria-label but in some situations like when the content is over the image can be some problems with the WAI-ARIA, if the aria-label from the element will be changed and that element will be used in another place when will be again problems. If it is used only there, then is ok. Usually, when this problem appears you’ll have some errors in the console, usually, something is interfering with our theme. Most o the time it is an extra plugin, therefor I recommend doing a test only with tagdiv plugins. In case the problem persists then it can be a code restriction, this can be set in htaccess files.
