This comes as a shock for me too. It’s sad that Tagdiv is withdrawing RTL support for V5. I own a multi-lingual site that entertains a lot of visitors who use languages like Arabic. i have already requested them for a full refund, hopefully, they’ll be kind enough to acquisce to my request.

Hi Lucian,

Thanks for the prompt reply. What plugin do you recommend?

Thanks!

@mrsky28
No, I use All In One SEO, not Yoast.

Thanks Emil. So can we expect any changes to the slider in Newspaper 5? The slider could really use a modern touch.

Thanks Lucian.

@neotrope,
I see. Even so, is there a time frame? I think everyone here will appreciate that while Newspaper 4 is good, it lacks some of the modern “trends” followed by news/magazine websites, such as a sleek, flat design, a fabulous built-in slider, a new grid, etc. I’d love to see these features in Newspaper 5. Let’s see what Tagdiv has in mind…

Hi,
I had to add it separately using custom css. But not to worry, they will add more themes for the big slider in the next update, I guess.

@truelifefitness
It’s the default Big Slider, just a little optimized to my needs using CSS and PHP. Glad you liked my site!

Also, is there a way to show the author name below articles on the Big Slider? Thanks in advance.

Thanks @suport002. I am anxiosuly waiting for Newspaper 5!

Thanks for the prompt reply, Alin. Glad to have helped!

@suport001
Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to hear! As both you an Chris pointed out, Newspaper comes with greater compatiblity in terms of bbpress buddypress, etc. I’d love to see the new grid, smart list and smart sidebar integrated into Newspaper 5, as well as the fantastic new stacks.

Thanks a lo for bearing with all my queries.

Yes indeed. I am really hoping for some major features, like you said, the tricky bits, in Newspaper 5. Seeing Tagdiv’s history and everything, I think it’ll be great!

@neotrope
Glad to know you liked my suggestions. Ever since I have bought Newspaper, I’ve been wondering why Newspaper, with a higher price and greater popularity, lacks some of the more interesting features of Newsmag. Since it is costlier, it should be a complete suite, right? I personally feel that this can all be soilved with one clck, by simply including a “Magazine” stack to Newspaper, so that even existing Newspaper users can run Magazine sites, without having to purchase Newsmag all over again. Of course, there’s gotta be some differentiation but I think given its price and popularity, Newspaper should be “better” than Newsmag, not vice versa. Let me know what you think.

Could you take a look at my other topic? i have included a few suggestions for Newspaper 5:

Thanks!

Thanks Emil. Worked like a charm. 🙂

I don’t really have any plugins, so I don’t think that’s the case. Also, i couldn”t replicate the issue with any other theme on Envato, just Newsmag.

BTW, Chris, did you like my original suggestions? What do you think of including a magazine stack in Newspaper 5? Is there any other suggestion you’d like to add?

I am anxious to know what everyone thinks of my ideas.

Hi Chris,
I am using the latest version of Chrome. Also, I checked with both my PC and my laptop, same problem. I found the issue in your version of Newsmag as well.

Here’s what happens:
On increasing the resolution beyond 1400px, the two-column content blocks surprisingly become one column, thereby leaving white spaces to their left. Since most content blocks you’re using are already one-column, the issue isn’t very prominent. However, I noticed the same issue on your version in the last six articles of the first content block.

I really would have bought Newsmag, if there wasn’t this issue. Hopefully, Tagdiv will introduce some magazine features in Newspaper 5, thereby solving my issue.

Also, I think you might appreciate this:
If you try loading the Newsmag demo theme with a resolution higher than 1400px, the theme goes haywire, sidebar and blocks cascade themselves hapazardly and the theme turns unusable. I was first inclined to by Newsmag, but seeing this issue, I purchased Newspaper instead.

You were right Chris! I just followed the documentation that comes with Revslider closely. Everything works fine now. Turns out I am a fan of revslider too. It is just as good as flexslider, perhaps even better!

princepetropia

The thing is, I am having some trouble working with revslider, I created a new template, then created a new slider and added the template. I also selected “Posts” instead of gallery and checked the apt categories I want. Then after allt his, when I went to visual composer and added revslider ot my homepage, the homepage displays a warning that says: No slides were found, please create a slide tem,plate.

So far, I haven’t found a solution. If tagdiv support can help me out with that, maybe I can use revslider too.

Thanks Lucian. I did it! It’s dead simple too. Just add this code below the page-author-box:
Find out more about <?php echo bp_core_get_userlink( $post->post_author ) ?>

And you can display the buddypress profile url below each author box. However, I’d really love for more Buddypress options, like message, friend, etc. to be directly available below an author’s articles. Maybe you can do that in the next update?

Thanks again.
