meta name description is for google
OG tags are for social media 🙂
take a look at the “source” for one of my posts:
(BETA SITE)

Theme demos on Themeforest are designed to show you an “example” of how the theme is used, and then in the case of TagDiv themes pre-set “stacks” are provided as pre-defined styles and layouts for changing the style without having to program that all in yourself.
The demo data isn’t designed to give you an entire website of content to use; only jump-start you in setting up your own content. This means you still need to make your own choices on how to build out a menu, or create your own categories, etc.
If you request the XML file from tagdiv they will be happy to send you the basic demo content to import. They don’t provide you “everything” as the photos are not owned by TagDiv and may be licensed only for their use — this is common with *all* theme developers using licensed images to create demo examples on Themeforest, hence the notices about terms of use on demo content all over Themeforest.
You may wish to review the documentation for YOAST SEO on how to use that properly.
Subtitle is a secondary headline to appear in your post.
Normally you make your post, then add elements to the YOAST SEO box to “massage” how that information appears in SERPS (search results). The “description” is usually a summary, such as information from your first paragraph.
You should keep the prior versions of themes, and of course your website as regular back-ups in case of corruption, server failure, etc.
You can ask tagdiv to email you prior version– email support@tagdiv.com and include your purchase code.
Might be a plugin conflict ?
Comments work fine for us on 3 sites both with and without Disqus.
You can install styles from the bottom of the main panel in the theme admin panel, at bottom ‘import styles….’ good place to start 🙂
See link to theme docs right side of this page.
Go back to 1.6; v1.7 has number of bugs at the moment.
Wait for 1.7.1
It will ask you for the activation code in a day or two 🙂
Note .. some tweets won’t embed via o-embed and not sure why…
on a recent article we tried to embed two tweets, one worked “normally” (with grumpy cat), and the other we had to use embed code.
<blockquote><p>Behold The Crazy. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/TedCruzCampaignSlogans?src=hash">#TedCruzCampaignSlogans</a> <a href= http://t.co/zTMfvnQPuZ">pic.twitter.com/zTMfvnQPuZ</a></p>— JustJanis (@jsavite) <a href="https://twitter.com/jsavite/status/579798118025281536 >March 23, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
(quotes removed around a link as forum won’t render that)
you can can see this here … normal tweet embed worked fine… the weird image discussion version with palin/cruz poster would not.

Remember you need to update the child theme also; so many things changed from v3 to v4; you need to use the v4 child theme.
This is why I don’t use child themes, and simply mod the main version and keep track of my mods. Child themes are only useful if the theme is fully mature and the child theme won’t get a whole bunch of changes to keep pace with development.
So, generally with many themes going from a full version number, means the child theme has to be updated too.
If that doesn’t apply to you, sorry to butt in … 🙂
Easier to just use “header” style “8” or whatever, which works like this:
[logo]
[menu]
[ad]
[story][sidebar]
Make sure you update the speed booster plugin along with theme.
If using 1.7, it has some bugs related to lazy load of images and some php code intended for late model servers; may cause issues with older systems.
v1.6 is recommended until 1.7.1 is released.
You would need to hire a developer to revamp the theme style sheets for you, which is NOT an easy task since all the elements are interdependent based on the grid system.
Google did something on/about last day of March, where many of the responsive sidebar banners use more vertical space than the defined size, meaning they may drop in a 300×250 but use up the space of a 300×600 or whatever. This is happening all over the place, and not just with the tagdiv themes. It’s almost as if with the responsive banners they are trying to “guess” how much vertical space they can get away with an serve different ad; or if they have served a tall skinny ad for mobile, then the next person loading ad from desktop gets the ad size from mobile. Bizarre.
My solution right now has been to not make the iPad portrait ads taller than the desktop sidebar ads…. you can “try” that and see what happens.
And/or define sidebar ad sizes for iPad portrait if you haven’t done that (e.g., 250×250 for iPad portrait vs 300×250… ).
You need to upload the folder with just the theme files, NOT the large “everything” folder which also has documentation and PSD files, etc.
Wordpress uses gravatars for images, as with the demo.
Create user accounts for each author at gravatar website… Or use a plugin to attach author images to the user accounts.
They have said in the forum no specific ETA.
They are shooting for end of April, but not a hard and fast deadline.
Couple of things
a) WP 3.9 has some security issues; good idea to upgrade to 4x — if you have 3.9.3 you should likely be relatively safe. If still running “3.9” you should upgrade to 3.9.3 to remain secure!
b) NewsMag 1.7 has some issues due to adding some code for “latest” version of PHP which doesn’t play nice with some servers; so you may have to ask them to email you v1.6 ( contact@tagdiv.com) .
note about security fixes as of WP 4.01

Link or screenshot ?
Did you regenerate the thumbnails so they are all the same size?
Right.. In our case we are a 32 year old publishing co, and so our news portals are not blogs by any definition. 🙂
Interesting point; in our case we’d rather simply have “NewsArticle” since we don’t use/are not blogs
https://schema.org/NewsArticle
https://schema.org/BlogPosting
NewsArticle and BlogPosting are both a “subset” of article
REF
https://schema.org/Article
Seems like a nice feature would be to have a field in the theme panel to specify this properly (e.g., BlogPosting or NewsArticle); or perhaps turn if off as I have a hunch some “schema.org” plugin might prove useful for some of the extended elements – or even Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to embed custom elements in posts.
https://schema.org/articleBody
https://schema.org/articleSection
https://schema.org/alternativeHeadline
https://schema.org/copyrightHolder
obviously the overall wrapper of “article” works for now.
But obviously “Blog” alone doesn’t fit either schema!
Facebook sometimes works sometimes does not. This is normal. Nothing you can do about it. If your site has proper OG tags it should work most of the time. Often when FB overloaded you can try again later or following day. Just how it is. Check your page source for one of your posts to make sure the actual data is there — perhaps if using Yoast SEO and you did the new version update, be sure to go through and resave all your settings.
Pinterest has been changing their system on/off the past month as the move to adding business accounts for promoted pins. They are also pushing to “verify” sites from the account when logged in for the site admin/Pinterest account login. We did this last week, and seemed to help.
example:
in the settings box put the user IDs of the 5 most popular authors like
14,13,25,3,8
What are you putting in the settings box for your FB account?
