Christopher is a long time WordPress user. Anything else you need to know is private ;-) I *do not* work for TagDiv, but I've been using their themes since late 2013.

Use Chrome for the time being. Firefox has some wonky issues across all sorts of platforms due to recent changes. Firefox created the issue, not the theme.

The past month (June) I have had to manually post stuff to our business page, regardless of plugin. Facebook may or may not go into endless loop trying to load posting app, may not show image, etc. — not theme specific, or plugin specific. As long as you have proper open graph tags, and your image is not too small or too large, or unsupported format, it’s entirely up to FB to “scrape” the image. If your server super slow, may timeout. If you manage to get a post onto your FB page, and the image does not show, wait a little bit and click the … update attachment. That sometimes works for me.

Good time to make database backups from server level, as well as export settings from WordPress. I do this regularly out of paranoia! 🙂

Site working for me. Support is closed weekends, but will follow up on Monday.

My sites are all working.

Resource optimization *does* affect server performance. Such as too many modules per sidebar, homepage, not blocking attack vectors like xmlrpc which kill processes.
But good luck.

simchris
tagDiv Member

No theme can optimize your site for image size, TTL, caching, minification, local font hosting, etc.
Use tools like GTMetrix to evaluate your site for possible optimizations, read the WordPress codex (docs) on tips for optimizations, use proper htaccess settings to hide critical WP elements, consider disabling XMLRPC, etc.

For any site, limiting queries, mega menus, widgets, number of images per page, number of modules per page, etc. highly impact performance.

usually best to update via ftp

not theme related, generally, but content related. What does search console say for your sitemaps?

simchris
tagDiv Member

No plugin will share posts to FB business ‘pages’ at the moment. It’s an issue with FB.

simchris
tagDiv Member

It’s the “all files” zip – then you unzip that, and inside will be instructions/docs, theme zip, and plugins zip.

simchris

Theme does not manage ‘addthis’ sharing plugin.

Also you have numerous console errors

As noted previously, share buttons work for sharing to a personal account, but have not worked for several weeks now when sharing to a company/business “page.” This is change in how FB works, and not theme related in any way. If you have proper open graph tags, sharing will work to personal accounts on FB.

The newsmag theme is a boxed theme, not a full width theme. You should consider the newspaper theme if you need ‘full width’ layout.
(I don’t work here.)

wordpress creates the rss feeds, not the theme

simchris

i use the redirection plugin, which is the most popular

simchris
tagDiv Member

I think you can use the license twice per domain, so that you can do exactly that; dev location and live location.
(I don’t work here.)

simchris

Yes, not theme related. This issue has been ongoing the past month. FB seems to go into a “spiral” of nothing once ‘create post’ share window pops up when trying to share to business page. This affects all themes and share plugins.

simchris
tagDiv Member

I believe the license is “per website” not multiples. So that might be the issue.

simchris
tagDiv Member

Also, when disabling the ‘official’ AMP plugin, make sure you check the “remove all data” option. You can reinstall, then click and disable remove again to do that if unsure. 🙂

I also posted regex rules to use with Redirection plugin awhile back (year ago?). 🙂

In olden days you could remove those from search console, but who knows if that even works now that Google truly doesn’t give a shite and is focused on AI vs actual site endpoints.

I know on one site, years back, we did a trick of putting a robots txt no index file in the separate images folder for ads (e.g., mysite.ooo/ads/ads1234.jpg — *not* /wp-uploads/ad1234.jpg

I think were able to block googlebot from loading the images there. No idea if that still works.
