Unfortunately you can’t use html in category description. You can use the text widget or the VC page builder and add the html you want directly into the category page template.

You don’t need to update/activate it as the updated and latest version it is added within theme’s files so you just need to download the latest theme version(4.6.1) from themeforest: http://themeforest.net/downloads ..then update your theme using this guide and the FTP method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/

Unfortunately the only customization you can do to the tag page can be doe from theme panel > template settings and involve the articles display view on the page and the sidebar position: http://screencast.com/t/yzjSD04ah
Other customization can be done to the template file but having each tag page customized is not an easy task and you would need custom work for that or you could also try search an use a plugin if there is one that can help you achieve what you want.
Regarding your site’s speed you can use the guides I’ve pasted below and the tagdiv speedbooster plugin to do it:

I have also tested this and work fine using the latest theme version (4.6.1) so please make sure as Chris stated that you empty caches and purge files if you use CDN.

I see you are using the newsmag theme. That is why you don’t have the crop feature image option in theme panel as this is present just on newspaper theme.

This is not easy if you don’t have basic php/html/css knowledge so I suggest to make a backup and get some to help you with hit if you don’t know how to do it yourself.
I suggest you make a backup of your current theme installation before you alter it and get someone to help you with it if you don’t know how to do it.
