Humm I got it. In CLOUD LIBRARY TEMPLATE I have No template. And I just want it as it this but sorted by name. Isn’t this possible without further troubles?

Torgut

Humm I think I found it but it’s not working…

Here looks OK, sorted: https://prnt.sc/eItbf1Q75mkB

In the blog the posts are not sorted: https://prnt.sc/a-jZopEDcvBw

Well, and how do I get to that screen? If I had been there I would definitely had spotted the sort option-

Torgut

Yeah! It works! Sweet! Thanks!

Hey Andrei! Super! Thumbs up! I will try this right away, but I have just one question: all I wanted was to have the images the same width as the text… when you say content width, wouldn’t that apply also to the text? Anyway, thanks for paying attention to the problem. I will try it now and will be back with news 🙂

Furthermore, I made a new test… I changed the large thumbnail settings to different values and 640px is the maximum it will be accepted by the theme. If I set it to 630px, will show 630px in Large, if I set it to 650px it shows the 640px in Large.

So Bogdan, it seems it’s not a Jetpack problem, or any other plugin problem, or a proportion problem. And no, the problem in my case was not any alignment. The problem persists no matter alignment I use as it was told to you in my last posts. Actually the problem persists the moment I install a fresh WordPress installation, I install your theme and I upload the first image. Just by uploading it, the 640px problem arises.

“Our theme does not use any thumbnail for images inside the post content. It will show them in full size if it can or it will shrink them to fit the container.”

Hold on… shrink? If we upload high definition images with 6 Mb the theme doesn’t use the thumbnail and uses them and scales them? It means that if we have a post with 20 pictures like this the post will take more than 120 Mb to load?

Bogdan, no I didn’t receive the solution. In fact you wrote me plenty of “solutions” but none of them was actually a solution. Last one, coming through e-mail was:

“Hi @torgut, The problem is yours, not the theme. The secret is in the ratio/scale of the image, you misconfigured the image proportion. Try to put in your media settings for large size: 696×604 (this is the default scale used). If you want to enlarge the dimensions, use photoshop or any image editing program with the option “constrain proportions” activated.”

I did try to do what the “solution” says and it doesn’t work at all. So far the solution is to switch to a different theme, like the WordPress default. And that’s not really a solution, is it?

Torgut

If I understood you correctly I am having exactly the same problem and so far no solution:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/a-few-questions-6/

I even made a clean installation, no plugins at all, I witch between default WP theme – all is good, to tagDiv theme, where the issue occurs immediately. Perhaps I am being just blind but of it was a proportion thing, wouldn’t the default WP theme present the same problem?

I just want to have an image size corresponding approximately to the width of the post contents area.

As I said, it works properly with the WP default themes. It doesn’t work well with Newspaper. From this point, I can’t see how to deny the theme responsibility in the problem.

I did follow you recommendation though, tried with media settings for large size 696×604 buts just as before the Newspaper theme forces 640px width for the large size.

Hi! After a fruitless sequence of e-mails about this subject, I took the time to prepare a better way to show you what is wrong and that it is related with the theme. No, it’s not because of Jetpack, or image alignment or anything else. It’s because of the theme:

1) I installed a fresh testing WordPress just for this. No plugins at all, nothing.

2) I changed media settings to have large thumbnails with 696px width: http://www.screencast.com/t/6SC0sjhjW

3) I uploaded an image using the default WP theme. All good, the large size shows up as 696px: http://www.screencast.com/t/8jh2NtiEw6z

4) Then I switched to your theme and there we go, no more 696px available for the “large” dimension but the odd 640px, for no reason, which is what I was complaining about in my initial post: http://www.screencast.com/t/H9zAnrHgoP

Bogdan, note that disabling all plugins would also disable the cache plugin therefore cache would also not be involved in the problem. I was well aware of that fixed width, but how can you tell where it comes from? Also I consider that my system is unchanged for weeks now… only change was… applying the News Magazin Demo settings.

Still, I followed your last advice and I did this:

1) Turn off Jetpack

2) Clear all cache in my cache manager

3) Disable cache manager plugin

4) Try in a private browser window

And as before, the problem remains. I left it like this so you can see with your own eyes.

hey thanks for answering… please read bellow:

1) Solved, thanks!

2) Yeaps, that was it. Solved. Thanks again!

3) Err.. no… as I said I tried it with all plugins disabled. Same problem. I didn’t have Photon but a different image optimizer plugin, but I had it for some time now and just today – perhaps by coincidence after importing the News Magazine template settings – I noticed the problem. Anyway, I tried with all plugins deactivated and still happens this max-width problem. Any further ideas?

I don’t understand… I don’t see the demos as in this page:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

I am using the latest version. But I only see 9 demos and I don’t have the right column with the quick install.

Torgut

I was about to place the same question. So there is no way to use a demo as a base for an existing working blog, no way to “import” data to a demo installation?

Side question: I don’t see the News Magazine demo in the demos list in my installation… how do I get it anyway?

None of the problems were solved, only the website was temporarily stripped of all plugins and customization.

I told you I had not only regenerated thumbnails but also checked the presence of the necessary thumbnails, which are there. Anyway, I did try again, to no avail. Sending you the e-mail now.

I will leave it as it is until you look at the issue again. This is, all plugins and custom CSS are turned off.

Torgut
tagDiv Member

Hi Hi !

1) and 3) The thing is, if I don’t customize there is no visual consistency. Ideally all the links should have the same color and the same hover color. Excluding things like the menu. It’s a pity that your theme – which I overall like – doesn’t provide the desirable level of control over these things, leaving the user in the need of customization, which has its problems.

If I take out the line of customized CSS causing this, the home page links will have a hover color with no consistency with the rest of the design. That’s what I am trying to fix here.

As you put it, either I accept a mandatory – not configurable – hover color or I will have to accept unexpected behaviors. None of these options sound very exciting 🙁

2) I disabled Photon and all plugins but Visual Composer, cleared browser cache. Issue remains. Then I checked the name of the file and which file the module is supposed to use. This is module MX8, so the 696 x 385 image is needed. I used FTP and downloaded the image. Inspected its size and it’s correct. The image with 696 x 385 is in the server.
What now?

1) Check my home page. Mouse over menu does NOT change color of the font. Open any post. Mouse over menu DOES change the color of the font. I do NOT want this change in the menu. Can it be fixed?

2) Did you read the part where I said I regenerated all thumbnails and that I do have all thumbnails sizes turned on? From there, I can’t see the relevance of the link you provided. I am sorry if I misunderstood you but meanwhile the issue is still occurring.

3) I troubleshooted this issue based in your information. It’s not a plugin. It’s the custom CSS. And guess what… it’s a piece of CSS that you provided here in the forums a couple of week ago, to uniformize the hover effect in all elements. Can it be changed to stop this issue and still maintain the needed hover effect? This is the code you told me to add and which is now causing this (to be more precise, what triggers the problem is the !important of the first item, but then if I take it out, part of the mouse hover effect in the home page blocks becomes inactive):

.td_module_wrap:hover a {
color: #980000 !important;
}

.td-module-title a {
color: #005b88;
}

.widget li a {
color: #005b88;
}

.widget li a:hover {
color: #980000;
}

.single a {
color: #005b88;
}

.single a:hover {
color: #980000 !important;
}

.alignleft {
margin-top: 0 !important;
}

.td-module-title a {
color: #005b88;
}

All fixed, thanks! I will be waiting for that bug fix as I prefer the other block style, but no worries.

Brilliant! Fixed!

Also… why is the tag background black in this example? There is no black in the block color settings as you can see (just red and blue):

How about the Big Grid blocks? Where do they get the colors?

Torgut

Hello. I changed the block. As you could see in my screen shot the video is correctly configured as “Featured Video” and still we have that problem visible on the front page.
