That worked, thanks! πŸ™‚

Where exactly would I need to add this code to have it executed throughout the whole website?

zeus

Thanks for the tutorial. Installed WP Rocket and after playing with the settings it’s indeed very fast now πŸ˜€
Haven’t tried your input for the functions.php yet… does it really make a (lot of) difference?

Thanks again!

Alright, I’ve been reading a lot of websites regarding this issue. What I don’t understand is how this started to happen… but ok.

What I’ve done is trying that suggestion in the .htaccess but nothing happened.

Then I installed a plugin ‘SSL Insecure Content Fixer’. That managed fixing actually a lot.

What remains are some errors of mixed content aiming at images, for instance:

Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://www.gadgetgoeroe.nl/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image ‘http://www.gadgetgoeroe.nl/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/gadgetgoeroe-logo3.jpg’. This content should also be served over HTTPS.

Would I really need to (re)upload all the pics? Merely adding an ‘s’ after ‘http’ in the theme panel > header didn’t work. And what about all the other pics used in all my posts?

Thanks! Enjoy the weekend.

I restored an old backup and now the site is online. But I want to prevent the same error again, so the help is still appreciated πŸ™‚

I’ve updated the plugin this morning after reading that same email from Envato and left my computer the whole day, only to find my website to be completely crippled this evening.

In Safari: Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0

In Chrome: the website looks like a (erroneous) mobile site.

On my iPhone 6s it seems to work normally.

Under plugins it says VC is changed to 4.7.4.

Any help is much appreciated!

thanks for the reply, I will try this in the next days. Wish me luck πŸ˜‰

I found a (very old) backup.. restored that and at least the site is back online. I will follow the exact instructions for upgrading from V4 to V6. This topic can be closed.

It’s worse now:

Warning: require_once(wp_booster/td_config.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/deb62085/domains/gadgetgoeroe.nl/public_html/wp-content/themes/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php on line 9

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘wp_booster/td_config.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php53/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php53/usr/share/php’) in /home/deb62085/domains/gadgetgoeroe.nl/public_html/wp-content/themes/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php on line 9

I really have no clue how to fix this.

For your info, I did this:

.td-sub-footer-menu li a {
display: none;
color: #f5f5f5;
font-size: 12px;
padding: 0px 10px 0px 10px;

I added ‘display: none;’ in this section and now it’s gone πŸ™‚

I’ve tried to insert it in different places in the style.css. But nothing happens. Thanks for your help.

zeus

jambr, I had the same. How I solved it?

Remove the current ad, save. Then add it again, save. It should be back then, yay.

zeus

I only read this now radu, sorry!
Thanks for your reply.

I guess Google became strict in showing the pic or not… sigh. As the webmaster tool points out, it should be okay.

Do you think showing ‘by author’ is mandatory to be shown on or in the article? Or is the current setup OK and should I pray for Google to show my pic again in the future… πŸ™‚

hi radu,

where exactly do I need to insert this? I reckon the style.css. Is there a specific location where I need to paste this code? I’m not a css master unfortunately πŸ™

Thanks

In your own tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/ads/

There you mention the possibility of custom ads. This is what I really need.

The other ‘custom’ spots you mention are not so custom. They have a fixed position.

For instance there’s only 1 sidebar option now. I used to have different ads for different pages in the sidebar. Also I used a 980px ad on the homepage, just the homepage. Now it’s one which is used in all posts after 2nd paragraph.

Perhaps I don’t fully understand your new ad setup… please explain then. Otherwise please provide an option to add custom ad spots.

Thanks!

I feel you… it costed me income because NONE of my ads were showing πŸ™

When I managed to get them back, the 728×90 header ad appears over my logo in the 980 responsive layout :/

Radu/marius, how can we solve this? I’ve changed the site format to 1170 resp. now but now pics which I cut specifically for 980 are showing gray boundaries around them as it’s not fully transparant (or so).

OMG… my website is soooo fast now!! I even got a B @ Yslow and 95% at Pagespeed.

Great update peeps! Please keep up the great development and spoil us more in the future! πŸ˜€

hi Marius,

I sent you the details last week. I’m curious if your investigation has brought up the root cause.
Thanks.

hi Christopher,

Can I just add that code in my .htaccess as is? I have some rules in it right now so could I add your code just obve or below my current rules in the .htaccess file?

Thanks!

I read this interesting topic and decided to do a check myself.

I use wp smushit, wp minify and total cache (page cache as per tagdiv’s instruction)

Google Pagespeed: 88/100 (desktop) and 73/100 (mobile)
GTMetrix: 93 Pagespeed, 76 Yslow.

Historically I always received a much lower grade with Yslow. Guess they don’t like my site πŸ™‚

Now I will experiment with Christopher’s tip with the .htcaccess.

And one tip to others: don’t get obsessed with getting high grades… I’ve been there a couple of months ago… for 2 days I slept at 4 AM trying to figure it out :/ It became an obsession. Spend your time in the nice things of your website πŸ™‚

awesome!

I used 2 slots under ‘Ads’ and pasted the Adsense code (asynch)

Then as you said added 1 under ‘Google adsense’.

Now it works.

Is it better to use all 3 under Google adsense? What’s the benefit over what I did?

Thanks man!

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for your thorough explanation. Much appreciated.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work. It’s as if my WP is crippled.
Clicking on that link in Yoast brings back the General tab. :/

Is there a manual way to hack this into some code?

zeus

thanks, that solved it
