Yes, well — theme doesn’t manage your open graph settings, image compression level, server speed, IP blocking, Facebook API, etc.

All you can do on theme and plugin side is add the tags, check that FB can access them, adjust anything breaking the tags, or blocking loading of images, etc., and then it’s up to FB to capture the content.

You cannot pay them or force them or berate them — they don’t care; you’re not paying them to grab your posts.

I’ve been in the beta FB stuff since FB first launched, and this is a recurring issue. But there you are.

Setup your FB developer account, check your posts, code, etc., learn to clear FB cache of your post if it’s hiccup-ing, check your page speed carefully, caching, image speed, etc. — all that stuff impacts FB being able to get stuff “quick.” A 600×450 image that is 35kb will be more likely to get captured properly than a 350kb image the same size, for example.

I think the amp endpoint function is related to changing the ‘endpoint’ — such as if you wanted /ac/ vs /amp/ or /mobile/ or whatever.

Sorry I don’t have perfect answer.

On another site, with a custom lean theme, we have it added to the /amp/ endpoints, but we’re using the venerable WP-Postviews plugin.

in this context, the function we have is this:
do_action( 'amp_post_template_head', 'process_postviews' );

They work for me. Note that the /amp/ endpoint is outside the theme as separate entity, just like having a separate print template.

You can test the /amp/ page actually validates properly (such as no inline css), and check it actually works and view the page source by going to the endpoint for one of your posts.

I mean 3 articles in a row and the number of row is more than 5. for example 7 row.

So it will display 21 related articles

I managed to fix everything, following your clear instructions, but the time.
I need to show the post’s published time in module 8, prior to the post’s title.
So, I opened the file td_module_8 and I tried the following:

Since we are discussing about module 8, I have another question (may be more easy).
I would like to change the categories tabs on hover, not on click.
Also, I would like the posts to be preloaded and don’t load at the time I choose another category tab.
If I don’t ask for too much, could you help me with the jQuery to fix that?

The amp_post_template_head() function still seems to exist. I can’t find the process_AMP_counter() in the PHP-code for the plugin, though. So I assume that this indeed causes the problem. I found something that resembles it, which is the is_amp_endpoint() function. However, this broke the website instantly:

I’ve tried looking for functions in all of the files with the word ‘view’ or ‘count’ in them, yet come up empty. I’m afraid this is where my programming skills come to an end. The official readme also doesn’t include any information for as far as I can see.

Not at all, thanks for your view, to be honest I think there are many that can get carried away with the next big web thing, I agree completely about the site speed/responsive argument. The only reason I use AMP is because when the news carousel is working – a small independent brand can get the same visibility here in the UK as a National does. But to be honest I don’t know if ‘the man in the street’ cares about AMP at all…or even notices the difference that much. Content is still king and so they’ll click if the quality is there and the story is what they want. Plus currently it’s only search results that bring AMP results.

Many publishers are turning their backs on it apparently- one reason being that the URL is prepended Google rather than your own brand URL. Interesting times.

Note amp plugin went through some major update last month, so double check the add action variable still the same…

We’ve been using the Automattic AMP plugin with TagDiv themes for almost 2 years now, since AMP was in beta, and works perfectly for us. Yes, you have to RTFM to modify the template, but that’s true of any custom post format, really. Simple to add adverts, and related posts, etc. — anything which can be done as a function, or added as a shortcode, will work. Worth playing with. Beauty of the ‘official’ plugin is that it’s built by same folks as WordPress and used for the VIP customers.

And not everybody is choosing to use AMP. If you have a lean fast mobile theme or responsive layout, it can work as well. AMP is an interim form until WiFi hits the next speed grade. So, in areas with slow mobile, AMP is useful, in major metro areas, not as much.

Anyway – sorry to butt in…. waiting for crap to download off my server. 🙂

Being a publisher on Google News it is a hard hit on us that Newspaper does not come with AMP I would genuinely pay good money for it to have it. The plugins that give you AMP are simply too simple and the Newspaper theme AMP version by other publishers is okay but very basic and has no review feature, tho they said they will add it if I buy it which seems rather dodgy as I could buy it and they could never do it (Plus I spend $20+ on AMP Ads from them and it does not work!!!)

I agree — it would be nice to be able to choose the social media accounts to include (via dropdown?). Some of us have multiple accounts of one channel associated with our site. (I have two Twitter accounts, for example.) Of course, that would mean labeling them in some way, I suppose.
