Hello Jean-Paul,
If you want to use the Visual Composer in your header, it is neccesary to use do_shortcode from the generated code of the Visual Composer. You have to insert this in header_style used by you. (header_style_1, header_style_2, ….).
Below, I gave you an example for header_style_1 and I added a text block in this kind of header with Visual Composer. You have to follow these steps for any header style used by you – http://screencast.com/t/6gTYtbdo
Useful screenshots -> http://screencast.com/t/y1sREKfU – http://screencast.com/t/IcFTzoWYJ
Also, you have to make a different class with this shortcode because you will to need of this because are required to do some customisation using Custom CSS to give a better look.
<?php echo do_shortcode('enter visual composer element here');?>
The result you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/RSzP7Xol
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello,
Can you please provide an example so we can inspect such a website. It could be a plugin used or custom modifications.
Thank you!
Hello,
You can control the social icons from the top menu and footer from here: http://screencast.com/t/GXI6TA03ja
The image shown on your example is actually an ad. Most likely the article bottom ad: http://screencast.com/t/yu3GiLx3CQ It seems the image used for the ad cannot be found in the path specified. Also, if you are not using adsense, please use the following method to place ads: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads/
You can also find lots of useful info in the documentation that will help you on your project.
Thank you!
Hi,
How do I remove Google+ and Pinterest from the sharing options for a post?
Example: http://imgur.com/6JInpam
Best regards,
Hello,
Unfortunately this is how the theme was built. The only thing you can do is force the theme to use a different thumbnail or use the full image instead of a thumbnail. This was a choice made to avoid creating too many thumbnails. In order to change this behavior, you will need custom modifications to the theme files. The thumbnails can be found here: http://screencast.com/t/GSSZqJ2w9G
You can define new ones you wish to use and then set the module to use the one you define. For example: http://screencast.com/t/baLnqO6chA
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello,
If you want to target a specific category page you can use the category id: http://screencast.com/t/5sqbnaabaH
You can use this id to target elements on the particular category page you want:
for example on my cat page:
.category-96 .td-module-meta-info{
display:none
}
If this is not what you mean and you want to always hide the author for posts from a specific category, that cannot be done with css as a condition will be needed in the php files. You will have to edit every post template and use a php function: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/in_category
I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Here’s the javascript being generated by the theme.
<script type=”text/javascript”>
var td_screen_width = document.body.clientWidth;
if ( td_screen_width >= 1140 ) {
/* large monitors */
document.write(‘<ins class=”adsbygoogle” style=”display:inline-block;width:728px;height:90px” data-ad-client=”ca-pub-xxx” data-ad-slot=”xxx”></ins>’);
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
}
if ( td_screen_width >= 1019 && td_screen_width < 1140 ) {
/* landscape tablets */
document.write(‘<ins class=”adsbygoogle” style=”display:inline-block;width:468px;height:60px” data-ad-client=”ca-pub-xxx” data-ad-slot=”xxx”></ins>’);
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
}
if ( td_screen_width >= 768 && td_screen_width < 1019 ) {
/* portrait tablets */
document.write(‘<ins class=”adsbygoogle” style=”display:inline-block;width:468px;height:60px” data-ad-client=”ca-pub-xxx” data-ad-slot=”xxx”></ins>’);
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
}
if ( td_screen_width < 768 ) {
/* Phones */
document.write(‘<ins class=”adsbygoogle” style=”display:inline-block;width:320px;height:50px” data-ad-client=”ca-pub-xxx” data-ad-slot=”xxx”></ins>’);
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
}
</script>
It seems like on Auto, the theme is deciding that 728×90 is the default large size.
Problem is, Google should be setting that value not TagDiv or Newspaper. If I am reading this properly, I am theoretically losing money if advertisers want to advertise on my site at 970×90 or 970×250.
The entire point of responsive Google code is for Google to send me the HIGHEST bidding advertiser for that size and in many cases, that is 970×90 or 970×250.
Am I wrong?
Hey all, just a quick question. I know NewsPaper and Newsmag themes already have the lightbox functionality for single image, so hopefully this shouldn’t be too tedious to do. I wanted for each Gallery inserted into the post that it would open in a lightbox like seen here: http://thecurvyfashionista.com/2015/12/new-years-eve-plus-size-dress/ and the image attachments would show like they do in the ligthbox of the post example linked. It uses the default WordPress gallery with some php and css tweaks.
I see on that site they use the image.php or the attachment.php file and some css to do this, my question is, in NewsPaper’s attachment.php what would I need to tweak to possibly get it to sit in a similar layout for the galleries? Or would I need to create a separate file that only targets when galleries are added to a post? Please advise.
I can add in the php file code they are using:
<?php
/**
* @package WordPress
* @subpackage TCF2015
*/
get_header();
if ( have_posts() ) : while ( have_posts() ) : the_post();
//count total images + find current image number
global $post;
$attachments = get_children( array( 'post_parent' => $post->post_parent, 'post_status' => 'inherit', 'post_type' => 'attachment', 'post_mime_type' => 'image', 'order' => 'ASC', 'orderby' => 'menu_order ID' ) );
$count = count( $attachments );
$specific = array();
$i = 1;
?>
<section id="mainContent">
<div id="photoFull">
<?php $att_image = wp_get_attachment_image_src( $post->id, "full"); ?>
id); ?>" rel="attachment" target="_new">" alt="" />
</div><!-- END photoFull -->
<?php
foreach ( $attachments as $attachment ) {
$specific[$attachment->ID] = $i;
++$i;
}
if($specific[$post->ID] == $count) { ?>
<aside id="seeMore">
<div class="sectionheader"><h2>More Galleries</h2></div>
-
<?php
-
<div class="entryThumb">
">
<?php
$image = wp_get_attachment_image_src( get_post_thumbnail_id( $post->ID ), 'large' );
$image2 = get_image_attachment();
if ( has_post_thumbnail( $post->ID ) ) { ?>
/timthumb.php?src=<?php echo $image[0]; ?>&w=215&h=300&q=80" alt="" />
<? } else { ?>
/timthumb.php?src=<?php echo $image2; ?>&w=215&h=300&q=80" alt="" />
<? } ?>
</div>
<h3>"><?php the_title(); ?></h3>
$galleries = new WP_Query(array(
'posts_per_page' => 4,
'tag' => 'galleries',
'post__not_in' => array($post->post_parent)
));
while ( $galleries->have_posts() ) : $galleries->the_post();
?>
<?php endwhile; wp_reset_query() ?>
<div class="clear"></div>
</aside><!-- END seeMore -->
<? } ?>
</section><!-- END mainContent -->

</div><!-- END prevNext -->
<div id="closeButton">post_parent); ?>" rev="attachment"></div>
</div><!-- END controls -->
<h1>post_parent); ?>" rev="attachment"><?php the_title(); ?></h1>
</div><!-- END infoHeader -->
<?php the_content();?>
<div class="socialIcons">

- <span class="socicon-pinterest">&media=<?php echo $att_image[0];?>&description=<?php echo htmlspecialchars(urlencode(html_entity_decode(get_the_title(), ENT_COMPAT, 'UTF-8')), ENT_COMPAT, 'UTF-8'); ?>" data-pin-do="buttonPin" data-pin-shape="round" title="Pin It!"></span>
- <span class="socicon-tumblr">&caption=<?php the_title(); ?>&source=<?php echo $att_image[0];?>" target="_blank" title="Post on Tumblr"></span>
- <span class="socicon-email">&body=Check this out on The Curvy Fashionista!:%20<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="Share via Email"></span>
</div><!-- END socialIcons -->
<div class="ad_300x250">
<?php echo do_shortcode( '[adrotate group="3"]' ); ?>
</div><!-- END ad_300x250 -->
</aside><!-- END sidebar -->
<?php endwhile; else: ?>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php get_footer(); ?>
What of this would be added in to the existing NewsPaper attachment.php file to help me get the desired gallery layout?
Thanks!
Thanks! But I’ll really need some examples.
From what I understand, I’ll be able to fix it, using only the custom CSS box?
You can look at the page source to see the h1 class for the post and then add some negative space to that class and put that into your custom CSS box in theme panel. Might need the !important over-ride.
If you don’t understand that – wait for TagDiv to get back tomorrow with example 🙂
Theme doesn’t control your media folder —
a) try increasing default memory for your install from the wp-config.php file and your hosting php.ini file
b) resave permalinks
c) clear all hosting/CDN caching, and browser caching — make sure you’re using modern web browser and not IE9 or something really dumb like Safari on Windows (!)
d) make sure your media folder is writable and you have enough storage space on your hosting account
e) try going to your media manager in WP, and uploading a file
f) in case not already obvious, you need to make sure the image format can be “read” by WP; and use proper file naming like .. no spaces in file name, no high ASCII characters like * ! () [] & — etc. and only one period for the file extension (e.g., my-image.jpg and not mysuper.image.from.hell.jpg ).
Hope that helps!
Chris
Well — you might LOOK at your page source. If you have h1, h2, h3, h4 tags in your page source, they are obviously actually there and the scanner you’re using is a P.O.S. (crap). 😉
All post pages will have h1 tag for title, and h3 tags in the sidebar, etc. and if you use h2 tags for sub-heads, then they are there.
Now, if you have major JS or HTML errors … this might show up in doing a check in the console (F12 in most browsers), then it might “break” the HTML and thus scanner you’re using would not be able to parse content properly. Example if you did a opening tag somewhere but messed up closing tag — this would cause an error on page and in some cases break all the scanners.
Hope that helps vs just being an annoying comment 🙂
Hello, I have a very similar issue, but with the 324×160 thumbnail images. If you look on this page: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper, at a browser window of 700px wide, for example, you’ll see that the thumbnails are being scaled up more than 2x. This of course makes them blurry, especially on a retina display. Example here: http://www.screencast.com/t/OxsmYbpo0xYw
These 324×160 thumbnails are also displayed in their ‘normal’ resolution on a full-width page, instead of 2x which would make them sharp on a retina display. Example here: http://www.screencast.com/t/Rf9E5vdpqT
If the featured image is not uploaded, then the theme shows either a placeholder or nothing, and that is not what I want.
Do you have a suggestion for how to show double-density images as thumbnails?
Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hello! I have removed breadcrumbs out of my options, but it left an ugly space on my posts (example).
Is there any css I can add in order to move the title up?
in the right side of the top bar, I want the Facebook , twitter and google buttons to show, not the others. How to do that and how to insert my tittwer and google profiles?
Currently, all my posts have a strange image at the bottom, before the social share buttons. It’s an image that hasn’t loaded. What is it and how to get rid of it?
http://carmeneverywhere.com/why-living-abroad-will-do-you-good/
How to use google fonts or some different font that is different from the fonts in the theme and that I can make smaller? I know there’s an option in the panel to import google fonts and I have to paste something there but I don’t know what exactly, can you give me an example?
Hello Dear,
Some image & File missing form Home Page & Sidebar?
Would you like to check htts://www.topdoma.com ?
First, this is an amazing theme. Best by far I’ve ever purchased.
I’ve hit an odd issue. See an example here: http://millstonenews.com/news/category/councillors-forum/
Note the ‘Subscribe by Email’ text widget in the right sidebar. I’d prefer that to be below the next block, ‘Latest Posts’… but when I move the widget there it disappears. The code of the widget is visible when I use the inspector, but it doesn’t display.
Any ideas?
Another question: how do I disable the ‘Latest’ drop-down at the upper right on that and all other category pages? I can hide it with CSS of course, but I’d rather just disable it.
Hello. I wrote a small “i” in large letters automatically “İ” had the letter translated into “I” in turn. Example: Güzellik/GÜZELLIK
Hello. I wrote a small “i” in large letters automatically “I” had the letter translated into “I” in turn. Example: Güzellik/GÜZELLIK
Update : dupa ce am remove Enhanced Media Library … Tiles gallery si a revenit … Voi incerca sa remove si codul propus mai sus din functions sa vad ce se intampla .
Hello, After the update Theme in 6.6.3 do not see the sidebar that more were on the right side of the home page, categories and posts.
Examples:
1. (HOME) http://www.koznazna.com/
2. (CATEGORY) http://www.koznazna.com/index.php/category/vezbe-i-sport/
3. (POST) http://www.koznazna.com/index.php/2015/12/21/vezbe-za-jaci-imunitet/
What’s the problem. Thank you.
Hey, thanks for the response.
I’m using this theme for other sites as well, with the same plugins, no issue.
One difference though is that I imported demo content from the “classic blog” template when setting this up this particular site, which is something I didn’t do with the others.
I’m noticing that the posts that are repeating themselves at the bottom are using the same blog format as the posts on the “classic blog”.
Think it could be related?
Let me know & thanks in advance.
after the latest update, following are the error’s i am facing
1) Website not working on twitter app on mobile
2) website not working on facebook app on mobile
3) Smart sidebar not sticking
4) Article repeating on load more (very old bug)
Hi,
Please clear your cache as the settings are affected by it. The modules and blocks use this setting.
Example: before: http://screencast.com/t/XOSf7KIoDr4 after: http://screencast.com/t/AtUKPCrHSi
Thanks.
Hello,
It depends on what version of the theme you had before the update. If by any chance you had version 4 and updated to version 6+ then this is normal as newspaper 6 is a totally different theme from newspaper 4. If you already had newspaper 6, then please provide examples of styles that do not work anymore so we can figure out what you modified and if that particular class has changed.
You can also try it without any plugins. Disable all of them except visual composer and check again.
Thank you!
