Even though it sounds counterintuitive (being the best visual WP-composer at the market) I’m looking for a way to disable the tagDiv Composer for some unexperienced users, so they can more easily and more efficient do some simple edits to limited pages.

I’ve managed to create a custom user role so they are limited to edit the pages that they created themselves – and nothing more actually.

However I guess that the TAGDIV COMPOSER-button in the “edit page”-window might confuse and cause some ache for some of the users.

That’s why I’m looking for a workaround to either:
1. disable the td composer for some users or
2. hide the td composer button

Because of the limited functions for this custom user role the “Edit with tagDiv Composer”-link has disappeared from the list of all pages at /edit.php?post_type=page, so I guess there might be some workaround to make the same happen for /post.php?post=XXXXX&action=edit… 🙂

This limited role has the following settings:

  • ‘read’ => true,
  • ‘edit_pages’ => true,
  • ‘edit_published_pages’ => true,
  • ‘edit_posts’ => false,
  • ‘edit_published_posts’ => false,
  • ‘customize’ => true,
  • ‘delete_posts’ => false,
  • ‘moderate_comments’ => false,
  • ‘view_admin_dashboard’ => true,
  • ‘edit_admin_dashboard’ => true,
  • ‘read_others_attachments’ => true,

I’m using Newspaper 10.4!

I’ll keep my fingers crossed! 🙂

Stefan

I’m using block 3 for my posts, but currently it sets the limit of posts on each line to three, as seen here:
https://gyazo.com/91e37264853d20fcd73fab88d414eb57

Is there a way to set the posts on each line to a different number (for example, 2 posts on each line) so that I can have 4 posts formatted nicely? I’d like to keep the same block 3 also.

Hi Calin – we are using the mobile theme and amp. This seems very specific to pages where we have selected in the Gutenberg editor to disable mobile theme (so it shows responsive version not mobile plugin version). Feels like this option is causing the amp plugin to render incorrectly.

Hi Amme89,
For this problem can be multiple situations, for example it can be a plugin conflict, so please make a test using only the theme plugins, also make sure that the theme and theme plugins also the WordPress are to latest versions.
In case that the problem is not solved, please contact us at contact@tagdiv.com include the link of this topic, wp-admin access and cPanel. Also make sure that you have a full backup for your website and database.
Thank you!

Hi,
If I understand correctly the problem is that on amp version the form can not be sent and you get a message, I search on internet and I found some articles like this one https://amp-wp.org/documentation/playbooks/handling-form-submissions/ -> https://wordpress.org/support/topic/contactform7-submission-in-amp-page-doesnt-redirect-to-thanks-page/
Also I will make some more tests on one of our install to see if I can recreate the problem.
Thank you!

Hi,
Unfortunately, I do not know exactly how the combo update from Apple works, but using our theme, you can update from an old version to latest version, indeed there can be difference if there were major changes, but normally all problem can be fixed, also when you update from a version to next version, you can het from themeforest the full package and there is a patch for example if you have v10.4 the next version is v11, therefore in packages will be a patch_10.4_11.
Thank you!

Hello,

I have decided to use the 3 article inline ad spots. But a problem I am noticing is that sometimes the ad goes between the headers and paragraphs of my article, which breaks up the content. As seen in the linked image. Is there any way I can stop this from happening?
Example image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ewmygyzz9zyf88q/Capture.PNG?dl=0

For example, if you add an Ad to any position, it stays there even if you delete it (stays in the database). Same happens if you import theme options (which is a great feature), historic settings are imported, cloud library settings and so on. All of it is causing that file to grow and grow – even if some settings are not used.

Threshold on many servers is 800kb for autoloaded data today, and because the theme is creating a big td_settings option inside the database, we cannot turn on various features that come with server settings, like for example object caching – a WPEngine hosting feature.

Colors in the test I did, are a reason for this great increase in size of td_settings, especially the accent color and the active main menu color.

Can I customize my home page for mobile using AMP+Mobile? Do I have any access to create a listed categorized home page for a mobile device!
Because I already tried to create a mobile copy of the home page but I can’t edit that page every time I found an Error like this

Hi stephanwhelan, so you are using the mobile theme with amp as in our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-amp-plugin-tutorial/ and the mobile page is made using only mobile editor and you still have this problem. If is so, I can make two suggestions: 1. please disable and delete all tagDiv plugin and reinstall theme from > newspaper > plugins and 2. make a test only with the theme plugins.
If the problem still persist, we can take a look at this problem on email.
let me know the results!

Hi,
I just checked your website and you are using the mobile theme plugin -> https://i.imgur.com/LmMthQA.png
Please allow me to inform you about all mobile versions that our theme can have.
1. Responsive version, this is by default when you install the theme and you do not use mobile page or mobile theme plugin.
2. Mobile page/template this allows you to create with tagDiv Composer and cloud a different layout and set different elements for mobile and iPad/tablet and it will overwrite the responsive version.
3. Mobile theme plugin, this is a light theme version for mobile that will overwrite the mobile page and responsive version if enabled.
So when you have a mobile page/template this will be used instead of a responsive version, but if you also have the mobile theme enabled, this one will override both of them.
How to combine them? Yes, this can be possible, for example the mobile page/template will apply only on that page or cloud template that is assigned. But what to do if you want to use a mobile theme plugin too? If you use mobile theme, in Gutenberg editor it is an option to disable the mobile theme in current post/page, if you use the option, then it will be use the mobile page/template (if is assigned) or the responsive version.
So in your case you can disable the mobile theme on the homepage -> https://i.imgur.com/NX57q4t.png or if you do not want it at all, disable the plugin or use it only for amp -> https://i.imgur.com/Grlz5Ee.png.
Here is also a video that explains all those -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
Hope this will help you!

Hi,
You can add the shortcodes in our theme using more elements, for example you can use column text or text with title -> https://i.imgur.com/haL4sMp.png -> https://i.imgur.com/SfwYpN2.png or html row, another element is inline text, all those element can be set using tagDiv Composer, in my option the first two suggestions are the best for this.
I hope it will help you!

Hi,

We seem to have an issue with our headers and AMP. As you can see on these example pages on the site the header isn’t showing properly style-wise.

https://www.deeperblue.com/freediving/?amp
https://www.deeperblue.com/beginners-guide-freediving/?amp

However other pages seem to work perfectly:

https://www.deeperblue.com/about-us/?amp

The only difference from our side between the two types of pages is the top ones have the flag set in Gutenberg to use responsive page rather than mobile theme ( as per previous thread here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-and-pages/ ). However, these seem to break the AMP version of the page.

Any guidance?

Hi ashish252,
If I understand correctly, you are using a pro demo, therefore you have cloud templates, those are a complicate to set with ACF, you need to edit the file that contains an element from your category or archive page , for example for single post template, if I’m right you edited the tdb_single_current_post element, now if you want the same custom files to be display for entire website, you can set it on tdb_title element -> wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/shortcodes/common/tdb_title.php
If this is not what you mean, please let me know!

Hello, @lawtrend

I made a test and seems your mobile is friendly => https://www.screencast.com/t/Mhu7vgJvJGzE -> https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly?id=wTs2evDGhFyxOw5NQc2Z2g
but if the problem persists, you can use mobile page or mobile theme plugin.

Hi,
The amp implementation in our theme require the ? to can check the amp version -> https://i.imgur.com/oWkUsVC.png -> https://i.imgur.com/sN5kHdZ.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-amp-plugin-tutorial/ (this is only for test/check, once that your amp version is indexed this will have a different structure provided by google).
Thank you!

Hi pmdcloud, the amp version is a simple one, and if you are using the amp plugin without mobile theme plugin, then you do not have any option to edit it (this is simple to make the amp version faster), in case that you are using the amp with mobile theme plugin, then you can use the options from mobile theme plugin and tagDiv Standard pack to choose whet to display and what to remove -> https://i.imgur.com/1XDVGye.png, also for mobile and amp page you need to set a new content in mobile editor, this need to me bade only with the elements from mobile editor (therefore please do not copy and paste the desktop content in mobile editor -> https://i.imgur.com/68rJGZh.png).
I hope this will help you!

Hello,

So, I understand you have created a mobile page, right?
For this please make sure you set it => https://www.screencast.com/t/bYroSq7x8T9, also, the header and footer are taken from the standard ones. All you have to do is edit the mobile page, and in Manager (Website Manager) you need to import or the easy way is to convert the existent footer like this => https://www.screencast.com/t/HrjOBNayd -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY (03:11 – Mobile Templates & Pages)

Thank you!

Hi jayaaditya,
The mobile and amp version is different because you are using the mobile theme plugin layout, also you are using the amp redirect for mobiles -> https://i.imgur.com/NBRvZgu.png
First, I want to make sure that I was able to inform you of all details about the mobile versions that our theme can have.
The amp plugin has for the moment support only with mobile theme plugin.

Hello,

The Mobile Theme is a light version for mobile that will provide a better speed, but the page content is made without builders (tagdiv composer) in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/tza7Da7E7DfJ and this content will be displayed on mobile theme. It comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
