Hi,

You could increase the size of the module thumb from the default media size using this code (just modify the height value as you like) keeping in mid the modifications you have made to the module thumb sizes.

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td_block_wrap .td-big-grid-wrapper .td-big-grid-scroll .td-module-thumb {
height: 170px;
}}

Thanks

Hi

We had to manually add the following CSS to fix it. We added it into the Custom CSS panel.

.td_social_type {
position: relative;
border-radius: 3px;
height: 32px;
margin-bottom: 10px;
}

.td_social_facebook {
background-color: #516eab;
}
.td_social_googleplus {
background-color: #eb4026;
}
.td_social_twitter {
background-color: #29c5f6;
}

.td_social_type div {
display: inline-block;
}
.td_social_type:hover {
background-color: #222;
transition: all 0.2s ease;
}

Any reason why this would have happened?

Hi there,

I’ve got two questions on customizing blocks and grids for pages:

1. On blocks, I know it is possible to filter by post ID, post category and post type, and that under “post type” you can specify “page”. I’m wondering if it’s possible to further specify the page filter so that it displays only pages that are children of a specific page?

2. On media grids: is it possible to create a media grid where the pictures are linked to external pages? So that when you click on a picture you don’t get a pop-up of a bigger version of the picture but rather get sent to a site related to that photo?

Thanks a million,
Kaitlin

You have it hidden with css. Please check your theme panel-> custom code and remove the code that hides the dates on block 9 : .td_block_9 .td-post-date
here is how it will show once you enable the date: https://www.screencast.com/t/ErPg03mp5FS
Thank you!

Of course 🙂 no problem. The code for the posts can be found in 2 files actually. Each post style has it;s own set of 2 files in the main theme folder: https://www.screencast.com/t/ebhiq5RDo
As for the blocks, they are simply containers for one or more modules. The module is the base element and they are found here: https://www.screencast.com/t/DZyZRMFtX8zT

Thank you!

Hi,

Please install the Visual composer editor plugin as it is an essential and required part of the theme. You can find it in the theme package that you have downloaded – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/ plugins folder. Then you can create a homepage using the elements available – https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/ from Visual composer – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ Also here is a tutorial on block settings – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/ explaining how you can assign a category on your blocks and the different sort orders. You can see all the big grids and blocks in the Newspaper demo – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/

Thanks

Hi,

You can try this code if you want to hide the big grid displayed on mobile, just enter it in Theme panel->Mobile theme->Custom code – https://www.screencast.com/t/EDRafYlMcO

.td_block_big_grid_mob_1 {
display: none;
}

Thanks

Hi,
Okay I get it, that I cannot show Link ads through theme’s ads panel.

I got one more thing, I want to ask i.e., Whenever I try to use W3 Total Cache with NewsPaper theme and choose the option to load Javascript Asynchronously, I noticed that the theme stop showing images. Also, if I use the TagDiv Mobile theme with W3 Total Cache, the mobile theme start showing on browser sometimes and the desktop theme on mobile platforms.
I tried to fix this issue by choosing the defer Javascript option of the w3 Total Cache, but still the issue of images not showing up and wrong theme for different platforms loads up.
Then I decided to delete the mobile theme and to do that again, but the image issue was still there.
Right now, I am not using any Caching plugin and any other plugin or code to load javascript asynchronously/ defer.
I noticed some warnings when I ran Google Pagespeed Insights and would like to learn some tips to fix these warnings.
I know I can also use WP Super Cache, but it is not that efficient and don’t have that many features as compared to W3 Total Cache.
If you are about to run a Google Pagespeed Insights, then please check the render blocking javascript and css for the desktop and ignore for the mobile platform as I am using mobile theme which is preoptimized.
Thanks!

Hi,

You can use any of the available Visual composer elements, big grids – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/ and blocks – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/ to create the page layout you want. Please check these links to see what each big grid and block looks like. You can experiment with different elements in different settings – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ But if you want to modify these Visual composer elements there is no easy way. It requires modifications to the theme files and could mean a lot of hard work.

thanks

Hi,
Firstly, thank you for the quick answer.
Secondly, it would be great if you just told me in which file is the main code for the posts, (for me to make changes afterwards) and the file that calls the posts for the blocks. Thanks 🙂

Hello David Henry,

Please notice that our theme uses ajax loading for Block Pagination. For more information about Block Pagination, please consult this guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/ -> https://www.screencast.com/t/IM5sspayqhvX

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,

Unfortunately ACF is not a tested plugin so I cannot help with this implementation. I;m not sure a plugin can tie into our custom modules and blocks. It is a custom code and a plugin will need to be created specifically for our theme for any plugin to recognize the theme modules and blocks. Sorry but untested plugins fall beyond what the theme support can offer you.

Thank you!

Hi,

If you have set the font properties in theme panel – https://www.screencast.com/t/LyvnjmOk1VY4 it should apply to all the block or widget titles. Try to clear your cache, and also update your Visual composer editor to the latest version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and check to see if the problem is still there.

Thanks.

So I reached out to my host company because I do not know about coding. They checked and told me all parameter are set. They told me to send you the exact error I are getting. If you can provide me with any specific feedback (something that needs an implementations of sorts), it would be helpful.

None of my add block work correctly. They don’t open correctly & I can’t save any of the information.

I recently did an update, is there something that happened there?

Hi TagDiv,

Purchased the theme a while ago, and going through customization, I’m trying to add specific fields with ACF to a specific post category. All is well in the back-end, though, I’m not able to find the code where to implement the custom meta-fields to show them in front-end. Specifically interested in td_block_9 view, apart the post page. Would very much appreciate some direction with both. Thanks!

Hello siamblockchain,

Please notice that the Editor Picks is just a simple Block 7 wich is set it to display only the Featured posts. So, if you do not have any posts in Featured Category, you do not bring any results in this regard. Look at this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/KE7EYayPe The Featured category is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/WbhaGpiVvK

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello mdmahiuddin,

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and only the latest version of required plugins which come bundled with the theme packet. Clear all your caches and check the results. Also, if the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and check the results. For more information about our block/modules, please consult our guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,

I have set up my BLOCKS/WIDGETS TITLE fonts choosing the weight 200-Extra light but it’s working only on Home Page.
How is that possible that on each other page the font of BLOCKS/WIDGETS TITLES seem to be default/normal?

Thank you for help in advance,
Regards,
LS

Hello,

This depends on the post style that you use or the blocks you want the image to show up in. For this particular example you will need an image size of at least 1068 pixels in width for it to show up properly.

Thank you!

Hello,

The scroll up is disabled for mobile devices using css. You can enable it by using this code in the theme panel->custom css box:

@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-scroll-up {
display: block!important;
}
}

Thank you!

Hi,

You should be able to filter the posts by id – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/ by entering the post id, or a category id with a “-” in front of the id – https://www.screencast.com/t/vrIQ9o8QV or control the posts displayed using the sort order. Additionally you can use an offset for our posts – https://forum.tagdiv.com/offset-feature/ More about block settings here in this tutorial – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

Thanks
