Hi

I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’re using the latest theme’s version but an outdated version of Visual Composer plugin. The current version of the plugin available with the theme is V4.8.1 Try to update the VC plugin from /plugins folder included in theme’s path downloaded from themeforest: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ clear all caches and test again.

Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hello matijakurusic,

If you want to change the block title colors for a specific block, you can achieve this thing if you set this option within Visual Composer->Block Settings, like this: http://screencast.com/t/RRb7jeCLDIu . After this, please clear all caches and try it again. If your problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your log-in information so we can take a look at your page setup. Please also provide a link to this topic so we know who you are.

For your second request, you can change the font in Theme panel->Theme fonts->Other->News Sticker Title, like this: http://screencast.com/t/pXssS3aJC and for change the font color, please use the code below in your Custom Css area, within Theme panel, like this: http://screencast.com/t/0aJpgH9A

.td-trending-now-wrapper a {
color:red;
}

The result you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/v6o6HFs2W

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you!

There is no “special configuration” for YOAST with the theme. Basically just go through all the options in YOAST and re-save, and make changes as needed for your setup.

3.03 seems to work, finally. Be sure to DELETE the old YOAST plugin folder, not over-write it. Then clear caching, etc. including browser cache.

Hi

Try to deactivate all plugins, leave just Visual Composer and SEO By Yoast active, clear all caches and test again. Also by removing any other networks information from social sections of Yoast settings, leave just the ones required for Facebook: http://screencast.com/t/HGpyWRBXQBt
If you still can’t manage to solve this issue please address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com including a link to this conversation and also give us wp-access so we can have a closer look at this and we will get back to your as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Hi AirPhibi,

I’ve check your site and i saw your problem about Sign in/Join. You can also try to disable all other plugins except Visual Composer, deactivate the js minifications if you have and check if your problem does not originate from a conflicting plugin. Also, please clear all your caches. After this, if your problem is still there, please let me know.

I hope this helps!

Thank you!

Later this afternoon my Facebook social counter was reading 0. I went through all the forums and tried everything that was recommended. I tried changing FB id’s then changed back, deleting plugin and manually installing the latest plugin, reinstalling the whole them and even even tried deleting my cache plugin all with no results. I found out on the Newsmag forum that a lot of people over there are having the same issue so I am thinking it must be something in the code in the Social Counter plugin as I would assume they are both the same plugin.

My website is http://survivingfood.com/blog/

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Maurice

Hey guys,

after updating to version 6.5.1, the google pagespeed is now at 57/100.
Before it was at 78/100.

Doesn’t matter which plugin for speedoptimization i use, the speed stays at 57/100.

Of course i tried thetagdiv speed plugin, but this doesn’t work. In the System status of newspaper theme, it says it’s incompatible with every other plugins i have installed.

I already uninstalled wp super cache and the speed stays at 57/100.

Don’t know what to do?

I’m having the same issue. Also with Twitter, showing 0 fans.

I’ve also checked the ID, tried various ID’s including ‘Envato’ — doesn’t show any followers. The linkage still works. I’ve also cleared all the caches and tried on multiple browsers/computers. Help!

OK.. so this is weird. I uploaded the plugin from the new theme files and activated it. Once I did that visual composer re-appeared.

The only thing is now the editing features don’t work. I can’t delete and duplicate content blocks, but can’t edit them or access the templates sections.

I’ve deactivated and reactivated all plugins one by one and deleted cache.

Can you look into this for me?

Hi

You’re using bbpres for the forum and the plugin’s options should be in admin dashboard: http://screencast.com/t/wVqplk5limhm Could be a conflict with another plugin so try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer and bbpres, clear all caches and test again.
I’ve found some informations related with issue in bbpres forum, you can check this link, maybe will help: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/plugin-disappeared-on-wordpress-dashboard/

Thanks!

Hi

If your’re using a cache plugin you need to enable the ajax view count: http://screencast.com/t/T5lteYh7M7d
Also make sure you empty all caches including browser cache then test again.

Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hi

We fixed that problem in the latest theme update so try to update at the current version available on themeforest, v2.3.1, clear all caches and test again. Here is the update guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/

Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hi Robby and Thanks Chris!

I’ve also replied you via email on this and checked your site there and didn’t see the problem you initially reported and I wasn’t aware of your posts here so it my reply was a bit off of this topic.

At this point I’m not aware why this occurred however concerning theme altering the .htaccess file I can tell you that it doesn’t so this may happened due to a plugin you use. I see you lots of plugins and among them you have the Easy Updates Manager one which I believe it’s responsible for auto updates. We haven’t tested this plugin with the theme so I’m not aware if its functionality and it may be possible not to work well with the theme and generate issues. In this scope we have tested and provided the solution to use the Envato Toolkit plugin to manage theme’s auto updates, you can find a guide on this here: http://screencast.com/t/EZ0YVDIohttps://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ ( this is made for the newspaper theme but the update process works in the same manner for newsmag theme also).

The latest theme available is version 2.3.1 – http://themeforest.net/item/newsmag-news-magazine-newspaper/9512331

If you decide to update it, considering all customization you now have we advise you to do a full backup of your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and also consider the steps I’ve provide below:

– setup a maintenance mode and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins
– switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services

Hope this helps
Thanks!

Hello,
Please try this without any plugins. Disable all your plugins except visual composer and check pagination again. You can also clear your cache and purge your CDN files if you use it.
Let us know if the problem is still there.
Thank you!

Hi

Try to deactivate all plugins, clear all caches then activate only Visual Composer and test again. Also make sure that you also update the plugin from the same path with the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Hope this help.
Thanks!

Good idea to turn OFF automatic updates on WordPress.

Good idea to make regular backups so you can easily restore site if something odd happens.

Good idea to backup theme settings from the export option in theme panel.

If you’re using a caching service or plugin, you might try deactivating that in case the service you’re using crashed.

Not much help at this point, I know, but all of the above are good ideas.

Obviously nobody can help you put things back how they were, but disabling automatic updates, removing unused themes and plugins, check for issues with plugins before updating (like YOAST had major bugs with new 3.0 update), etc.

TagDiv will likely have some thoughts, but the theme cannot magically kill itself in the middle of the night — only a plugin, core update, cache/service change, host crash, or hack can do that.
