ive uninstalled the social counter plugin and then installed the 2.10 plugin and cleared my cache, and it still doesnt show my subscriber count.

ive also checked out the http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/full_screen_preview/5489609 and even there it shows the youtube social counter at 0 even though the account it connects to has 1184 subscribers. If i change the demo to clasic blog/fashion/sport/cafe/tech it shows the counter subscribers. On the default demo it does not
Hello,
I’m having trouble getting my Newspaper theme to immediately update the changes I make to my website. Everytime I make a change it seems to take 5 minutes or so before the change is visible. I’ve tried turning off the WP cache plugin but that didn’t solve the problem.
Is there anything I can do to make my website more responsive to changes I make?
Also I’m using Hostgator if that effect anything?

Please make sure you also have the post views active and also test this without using caches as the last days 7 post count works based on post views so if you use cache this might not work properly.
Also note that it pulls from ALL the posts the most accessed in the last 7 days NOT the posts that are published in the last 7 days.

Please provide a link so we can take a look. Also when you save Theme Panel please check this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active and clear cache. You can use browser inspector tool and check your console for errors when you save your settings(changes).

Please check you custom css and remove any code related to it and also disable all your plugins(maybe it is added by a plugin) leave just Visual Composer active and clear cache.

Te rog dezactiveaza toate plugin-urile, lasa doar Visual Composer si Seo by Yoast active, da clear la cache si verifica un articol cu facebook debugger ca sa vezi daca mai apar acele erori(click Fetch new scrape). S-ar putea sa fie un conflict intre plugin-uri.

All the advise are highly appreciated. Here is a quick report for changes.
1) It turns out you are right my gzip setting is not proper set/I ask my host again and they helped me fix it.
2) I turn off a couple of plugins(one firewall one social media)/restructure the home page a bit, move the weather and map to another page
3) I use WP super cache and turn on page preload (w3 cache seems not work well with me)
Anyway, my score now
Google M-57/100 and D-80/100 (about double what I have before)
Gmatrix page speed Grade A and Yslow 77%
Pingdom 78/100 load time 1.55
from yesterday to now, I experienced the load time from 8.9 to 1.55 again appreciated your help. Now load time is between 1.88 to 3.96 range. Which is really improved.
Now I know I am on a right track. I will follow your suggestion to test plug in one by one later. At least now the site is in a bearable speed.

Oh, I was referring to browser cache or it will show the old image.
I was not saying to resize the image you have, I said to change it canvas.
You can resize your logo from 150×150 to 100×100 and then change its canvas to 300×100.
Here, upload this and try it out.
As you can see in the theme panel, the theme expects a 300x100px image.
If you really want to use 150×150 you have to manually edit some files under the “parts” folder in your newspaper theme folder:
header-style-1.php (line 33)
menu-header-center.php (line 53)
menu-header.php (line 53)
replace width="300" with width="150"
The first solution has the advantage of persisting after an update while the latter needs to be redone after update (unless new version 5 of newspaper has more options).
And one more thing how to clear caches? Is there any plugin for this or do I need to do this manually?
Hi,
that’s because the theme “forces” the logo to have 300px of width. Your image has width 150px and gets “upscaled”, making the height of the image to be 300px as well.
Make a 300×100 px with your logo in it (even if the image is partially “blank”) and upload it. It should display correctly (remember to flush caches)

@LFLizmark Regarding your first issue with images not displaying please provide your site’s url or admin credentials so we can have a closer look as I’m not sure what your issue could be if regenerating thumbnails wasn’t helping, you could also try to empty all caches and test without any plugins active, leave just the Visual Composer plugin active.

For organizing your images I suggest you follow Chris’s advises and try to find a plugin that can help you.
@nf_prt Starting with the next version of the newspaper theme ( newspaper 5 ) the theme will have panel thumbs option section (similar to the one that is already available in newsmag theme, that if you are using it) from which you can decide which modules you want to sue and disable the thumbs that you don’t need. Then regenerate thumbnails with a plugin like force regenerate thumbs or a similar one you can delete all thumbs and generate only those needed.

You should try to disable all plugins first, empty all caches, purge files if you use CDN host then check again. If it’s still there then you should try a fresh theme and WordPress install and see how it goers.

Please make sure that you also try this without using additional plugins, leave just theme’s Visual Composer and Social Counter plugin’s active and make sure you also empty all caches. Not sure why you have this issue. I also checked this with latest theme version and did not found any issues. Please check this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active, clear cache and check again. Also make sure that you don’t use any special characters on the sidebar’s name as we have some reports about this, when a block is added in a custom sidebar disappears.

Also you can check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer and clear cache.
You can activate the theme also on your test site and when you change to your main website you can use the same code. Envato specifies that each theme can be used for one product (site): http://themeforest.net/licenses/standard but you can use on multiple test sites. If you want to use it on multiple sites/domains you’d have to buy a license for each project.
