Hello,

Thanks for your explanations, the problem for the menu and search bar is fixed with CSS code.

For the favicon, I did all these steps:
– To add the favicon, in Theme Panel -> Header -> Logo and Favicon
– Customize icon -> Site identity -> Site icon -> Change image -> publish
– Clear the cache

The favicon appears everywhere (Desktop and Android) but not on iPhone, I still have the WordPress favicon in this case…

Do you have an idea ?

Maybe it was a cache issue.

Hi,
This problem is usually from the cache plugin that doesn’t recognize that there are two themes, one for desktop and one for mobile version (mobile theme plugin).
If you are using the mobile theme plugin, please make sure that you are using a cache that can different the mobile version from desktop version, a tested cache plugin is WP Super cache, here is a guide with the settings that need to be made for this plugin -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Hope this will help you!
Thank you!

Hello nerdhub-it!

Make sure that the problem is not about anchor tag: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-modify-anchor-tag/
Please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using a cache plugin, deactivate it, clear all cache (also from your browser) and try again.

Let me know the results!

Thank you!

Hi,

Can you please provide some more details about the auto refresh? Are you referring that when you publish a post this is not display for users until you do not refresh/clear the cache? If is so, then it can be from the cache plugin that it is used, this must be configurate to be clean when a post or page is published.

For the notification, I think that you can use a newsletter, the users will subscribe and when you’ll add a new posts, those will get an notification with it.
If you want you can try our Newsletter plugin -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-newsletter-plugin/

Thank you!

Hello Stavros!

I’ve checked the link and all the playlists are working well now.
It could be a cache issue there, please check and let me know the results!

Hello,

So, you have now a header template from Theme Panel, and you had a header template before, right?
Please do a test using only tagDiv plugins -> https://i.imgur.com/j8q38If.png, assign the header template, purge the cache and see if the problem persists.
Also, please let me know what plugins you have activated.

Thank you!

Hi Coinavalon,
Those are only warnings and from what you said above, you already made the necessary steps. Now those will no longer change in green, because for the cache plugin only if is used the WP Super Cache the status will be green (the check from the theme panel was made only for this cache plugin), also for the mod_substitute our theme only check if is not provide by host, is not checking if this is set in htaccess (if you set it like in our guide and you used the SiteGround indications -> https://elementor.com/help/siteground-hosting-compatibility/ then the problem should be solved).
So, since you already made the necessary changes for the system status, you should no longer about those

Hello,

I made a test and for me works well -> https://i.imgur.com/3yQJ59w.png -> https://i.imgur.com/mgB8N9C.png
I think that you have an object cache file stored on your server and that it is why the settings are not saved.
We have a guide on how to check the Object Cache if is applied on Backend -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/general-options-may-interfere-newspaper-theme/

Thank you!

Hi,
The first step to investigate this situation is to make sure if you do not have a plugin conflict. For this please make a test, disable non theme plugins one by one and check the results.
Now if the problem is only when you are not logged, then most probably, the problem is related to a cache plugin or optimize plugin.
Thank you!

The Pinterest widget has not updated in months despite clearing cache (site & browser), deleting and resetting, etc. Any suggestions?

I dont know why this theme is causing so many bugs. But I have another issue with my comments section. When I edit the post template in cloud templates, it shows correctly, but it isn’t adopting to the live site. Again, its not a cache issue. It just wont go to the live site.

Here is what it looks like on the cloud template.

Here is what is showing live on my website

Why is it not showing correctly?

I write posts on the gutenberg block editor. Its much easier and I have more options to edit the post. But when I make some changes, they don’t carry over. Its not a cache issue I know that. When I change the typography to larger font or change the line spacing, it doesn’t carry over to the post.

On the bottom right hand side, you can see I have changed the typography but it doesn’t carry over to the live website

This is the live website. It doesnt change the typography to what I want. is this a theme issue? I want to be able to change the font and spacing.

Hello Anamaria, thank you for the reply! Before the problem apears, I had to install the Litespeed cache, and after that I tried to do some settings on it. Maybe the problem could be about this ? I’m really new at WordPress.

Hello,

Please make sure that you have activated the proper thumbs for the mobile theme. The mobile theme requires the “265×198” and the “741×486” thumbnail sizes in order to show the featured images properly.
This can be found here: https://www.screencast.com/t/N18dR3qZrh -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Also, please try to regenerate your thumbs => https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ and clear your cache on the website/server.

Thank you!

Hi,

Created a ‘Popular Articles’ block as a widget on our sidebar, but not getting the desired results.

It works fine if I choose Popular (all-time) as the setting, but when using the 24hr, 48hr or 7-day filters, the list shows up blank. The notes do state that these options “are affected by caching plugins and CDNs,” and while we do use caching, I was hoping to get at least a usable approximation rather than a blank list.

Have I missed another setting somewhere, or will the 7-day filter not work at all when caching (WP Super Cache) is used?

Hello Everybody,

I am setting up the Newspaper theme on Siteground, however I have a few warning on the System update and although I have made the corresponding changes, the system status keeps showing a warning.

The settings for which I am getting the warning are:
1) mod_substitute. For this I have followed the corresponding guide and updated the .htaccess with:

<IfModule mod_substitute.c>
SubstituteMaxLineLength 10M
</IfModule>

However, the indicator on System status is still yellow.

2) Caching plugin – For this I am not using the proposed WP Super Cache, but rather SG Optimizer plugin from Siteground. Here I would be expecting the theme to be compatible with SiteGround’s plugin. Is this not the case?
For the SG Optimizer plugin I have both Dynamic Caching and Memcached enabled.

Any advice on how to resolve these two issues would be much appreciate as I don’t want to encounter any surprises afterwards.

Thanks,
Coinavalon

Hi,
For that traffic you’ll need a dedicate server https://i.imgur.com/JxDkHWz.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/also what you can solo do is to use some cache of database to make it faster.
Also, if you have more blocks on pages, then the time will be longer because each block is searching in database using sql_calc_found_rows so, the more blocks you use more requests will be make.
Also, if you are using ajax filter on blocks -> https://i.imgur.com/baEwDLe.jpg, this will also request access to database.
If you check all those, then you should get some improvements!
I hope this will help!
Thank you!

Hi Anamaria, Thank you for your reply. As I can see, I do not have any cache plugins. I flushed the cache in the siteground panel and the website still does not show any drop down menu, just the primary menu titles, I put cursor on the menu title, nothing drop down. Please check my website to have a look of the issue, thank you so much.
