Also note that each image is cropped when you upload it so you just need to regenerate thumbs for your old images. If you don’t need all image sizes you can disable them from theme panel for those you don’t use: http://screencast.com/t/CNubMTv0u

To get access to your site’s admin follow Chris’s steps.

Why wont you update to the latest version instead of 4.6.2 version? You just need to download it and update using the instruction provided below.
Updating the theme right shouldn’t cause you any issues so you can try to update the theme based on this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ backup your current install, run the import settings script, update plugins and check the result. You can always get back to the previous working theme version if something goes wrong as long as you backup it but doing the update as instructed the theme should work fine.
You should also consider into the process at the following aspects:

– backup your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
– setup a maintenance mode (if your site is live) and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins
– switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services

Please make sure that you have update your theme properly, by removing the old theme(like it is specified in the documentation – make sure that no old files will remain ) as Newspaper 6 must be regarded like a new theme so make sure that old files will not remain as it could cause some issues – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and update also the plugins that come with the theme files. Also please check this only with Visual Composer active, disable all other plugins and clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN.
Please provide a link so we can take a look if you still have this issue.

I’ve tried to disable all plugins to check if one may cause this issue but now i cannot log in.
Please resend the credentials via email at contact@tagdiv.com , also include ftp access.
Disable all plugins except for Visual Composer and Disqus, disable the CDN and if you use an external cache disable it.

I’m not sure why you have this issue as there is a default hover color that is applied on social icons as you can see also on our demo – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ but in your case it is not applied when you hover an icon even there is the css for it – http://screencast.com/t/hcQDb3ScLpCU
Please check this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN and see if you still have this issue.

The theme doesn’t have this option for slider and you need custom modifications to achieve this, unfortunately we cannot provide any type of custom work at this time as we work hard on development, fixes and support, sorry!

The theme blocks filters are based on categories and tags but you can also use authors filters: http://screencast.com/t/chg98E7KAt But to answer your question, then yes, it would be better to add tags to your posts or organize theme into several categories this would make your theme customization work easier.

According to gtmetrix you still need to optimize images. I suggest you use a plugin for that or add the following code in functions.php file:

add_filter( 'jpeg_quality', create_function('', 'return 50;' ) );

This will compress all images to 50%, you can change that value, after you add the code you have to regenerate all thumbs – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/ and also empty all caches and purge CDN files.

That reported scaled images seems to be on tables landscape view where they are scaled using css: http://screencast.com/t/kK4sfEqrK however that is the way they are designed.
