Most of these problems are caused by plugins, as in your case the theme can not recognize the images path -> https://i.imgur.com/c2IILhJ.png as I can see this image link was change by a plugin, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

If you want to set the files for default post template, then yes, these need to be set directly in the child theme directory, only the single post templates 1, 2, 3 … 13 need to be set in additional subfolders because these need to have the same structure as here -> https://i.imgur.com/iBa1uUn.png -> /Newspaper/parts/single/loop-single-1.php therefore in child theme will be /Newspaper-child/parts/single/loop-single-1.php

As a suggestion, you can try the new update, Newspaper v10.3.7, also if you are using child theme, please make sure that this do not create conflicts with mobile theme plugin (disable it and try again).

If this posts loop is set with tagDiv Composer, please edit it and check these settings -> https://i.imgur.com/xqRPgrj.png also make sure that you do not have some plugins that are interfering with theme plugins, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
