I solved by turning off the child theme that was empty anyway.
Hi, how can I assign a cloud library template to a tag?
For the categories it works, even if with the active child theme there is a Bug in the tagdiv composer.
But the tags? there is no theme panel option to associate the template in tags.
Hi,
Block 25 looks like this – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-25/
That is a screenshot of the erotic demo, this demo is not available for install anymore. It is scheduled to be redesigned and reintroduced in the future.
If you want to use the demo design for that block module, I could provide it to you
– https://www.screencast.com/t/tHKXMsJbF0p
The code can be entered in Theme Panel->Custom CSS or child theme stylesheet
– https://pastebin.com/zT2QTH6v
Thanks
Hi and thanks for your hint! You’re right the problem was some code in child theme. I’ve updated it, content loads fine now!
Thanks again!
Hi,
Those are a lot of errors, I see the some of them point to the child theme so make sure you disable that. I believe you made modifications to loop single files, in the child theme, those may not work with the latest theme version. Disable it and update again by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Update all theme plugins if needed (tagDiv composer and social counter should update automatically but sometimes it fails)
After you update don’t make any modifications to theme files, check if the problem is solved.
Also please review the updated theme requirements guide

Let us know what you find.
Thanks
Hi!
I’m trying to updated an existing site from version 8.1 to 8.8.1 without success. Everything loads fine in v8.1. As soon as I use the new theme none of the posts have any content (td-post-content ist empty).
– I tried to reset everything via theme panel
– I disabled all plugins
– only disabled td-composer
– installed Demo content
Nothing helped.
Last thing I did was enabling wp debug which displays the following error:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_featured_image_copyright() in /usr/www/users/testsd/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/includes/wp_booster/td_module_single_base.php:166 Stack trace: #0 /usr/www/users/testsd/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/loop-single.php(47): td_module_single_base->get_image('td_696x0') #1 /usr/www/users/testsd/wp-includes/template.php(688): require_once('/usr/www/users/...') #2 /usr/www/users/testsd/wp-includes/template.php(647): load_template('/usr/www/users/...', true) #3 /usr/www/users/testsd/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/single.php(28): locate_template('loop-single.php', true) #4 /usr/www/users/testsd/wp-includes/template-loader.php(74): include('/usr/www/users/...') #5 /usr/www/users/testsd/wp-blog-header.php(19): require_once('/usr/www/users/...') #6 /usr/www/users/testsd/index.php(17): require('/usr/www/users/...') #7 {main} thrown in /usr/www/users/testsd/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/includes/wp_booster/td_module_single_base.php on line 166
Do you have any clue why this happens?
Hello,
It is not necessarily the lazyload animation affecting the images. The lazyload breaks first upon a plugin conflict so please try to disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
Hi,
We did not make any modifications to the post editing section, so it would be the same as before. Maybe the theme has not been updated properly, please try it again by FTP if possible
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Also review the theme requirements and system status
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If needed increase the parameters mentioned in the guide. After you install the theme again update the theme plugins. Do not make any modifications to it’s files, if you have a child theme deactivate it temporarily, check custom code if used as well. Also deactivate as a quick test all your plugins, leave only theme plugins active.
Let us know what you find out after trying these suggestions.
Thanks
@rezaandrian yes, if you modified the main theme files. Consider using a child theme https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/. And backup your site as Catalin says. (I don’t work here)
Maybe you use the child theme, that has a different section for custom code. Please check the theme panel

Hi,
A 404 errors would mean that the requested resources are not found on the server. The first one refers to a child theme and a font file it seems, try deactivating the child theme temporarily.
The second error is provided because a file is not found it seems. But the unusual thing is that there is no such file in the main theme folder. Maybe you made some modifications to the theme files, or file additions. Or maybe a plugin is doing it. You could investigate these first and check if there are still errors.
Deactivate the child theme, deactivate all non-theme plugins, remove theme modifications or code added in the theme files. Check if the errors are still present. Ultimately re-install the theme by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
If the errors are gone and there is still a problem review the theme requirements

Hi,
That should not happen, the X icon simply closes the more articles section. It cannot be made to redirect by a theme setting or in any way, it is not a link.
Inspecting your website I see it is a link and directs to a website
– https://www.screencast.com/t/3rhiRQZt8
Please check if you made any modifications to this file, either directly or by a child theme maybe

Hi
A few questions on this version of the theme.
Can the label “Tending news” be changed?
I changed “Most Popular” just to display the “News” category and child categories but it still displays all categories. How do you restrict this?
Latest articles – I would like to change this block to display other other content. However, I can’t edit this in the editor. How can this block be changed and/or removed?
Editors Picks (footer) – how is this section controlled?
Thanks
Brian
When I edit a page with tagDiv Composer, it show up an editor with message “Welcome to tagDiv Composer” and Add Element button on the left. But on the right the spinner is spinning and not stop.
When I look at Chrome inspector console, I saw 2 errors;
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () -> https://www.mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/font-newspaper.css?ver=8.8.1
and
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () -> https://www.mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/admin-style.css?ver=1.0.0
Please advise, many thanks.
Simion I notice that the new background image I have update the theme panel header logo to is still pointing to this image dimensions (1345 x 276) https://www.thechildhoodlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Childhood-Life-Logo-Background-1349-x-276.jpg
I have updated the theme panel > header > logo url to this image dimensions (2698-x-552) https://www.thechildhoodlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Childhood-Life-Logo-Background-2698-x-552.jpg and I have checked it several times but yet it has not updated on the website.
Shane
Hi,
That is in most cases caused by javascript errors due to plugin conflicts, or theme modifications, or added code. The lazy-load is the first to break, there could be other problems that you have not yet identified.
There was a user with a similar issue a while back, the images were not loading in his case because of a script that was part of the ads he was using.
If you would check in the browser console there will be javascript errors most likely.
Try the basics initially, deactivate all plugins as a quick test (leave only theme plugins active), remove custom code from theme panel, deactivate the child theme if used, remove theme modifications or code added in theme files.
Let us know what you find.
Thanks
Hello,
Please check this topic about the functionality of a child theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/setting-up-child-theme/
There is no update proof way of altering the theme files unfortunately. Code gets changed. You cannot keep old code around and as the new theme version will not work with the old code. This is just the way things work on any other theme as well.
Sorry but unfortunately holding on to older versions can have consequences. Especially when updating WordPress and plugins and everything else around the theme but not the theme itself. There will come a point where the theme will no longer be compatible with most plugins or even WordPress itself as WP keeps changing as well (if you update WP that is).
The best course of action would be to make the change and update your theme and keep it updated. This way we can guarantee proper functionality, compatibility and proper security for your website.
Thank you!
Hi,
You could create a child theme, there is one provided in the theme package. Copy the header file there (be sure to create the same directory path to the file) and modify it there
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
This way this modification will not be affected by a theme update.
Thanks
Thanks Chris. TagDiv team: when Newspaper 9 comes out, will Newspaper 8 child themes stop working? What are developers expected to do when you release a new major version? Isn’t this supposed to be seamless?
Well, you need to take the child theme from v8, then apply any customizations you did with v6 to the v8 child theme. So, let’s say you put a custom footer in your v6 child theme, you’d move that over to the v8 child theme.
So, you might use file comparison software and compare the v6 theme with the v6 child to see what you changed; then move over any edits to the v8 child theme. Only reason to use child theme is if you made changes to the files (I personally just hack the main files, and keep track of that; stuff like removing the pingback in header, or removing comment count from the author block page element for author index, etc.).
Basically if you use v6 child theme to “over ride” the v8 theme, then of course stuff will be broken as the CSS, various functions, etc. are different. So, it’s like over-riding one theme with totally different theme — won’t work.
Thanks Chris. What do you specifically mean by *migrate* the child theme?
Main issue is you can’t use old child theme (v6) with new theme (v8) as too much has changed. Ideally you’d migrate child theme from v6 to v8, then test that with the current theme version.
Almost everything from WordPress had security issues back then, as many XSS security issues were found that impacted themes, plugins, WordPress core — basically any verison of WordPress prior to 2018 isn’t secure either, so folks not updating their core WP would also be subject to possible injections/etc.
I don’t work here, just some feedback. We went through that in going from newsmag 1.6/7 to NM3. Now looking to move to v4 (and hoping v5 doesn’t come out while we’re doing that!) 🙂
For your reference, here is just a little bit of what’s going on when updating to 8. Child theme is loading properly, I checked. https://we.tl/ViwfDIvcQX
Hi,
Is the issue fixed if you deactivate the child theme? If it is, then the problem is in the child theme, try again with the default provided child theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Try at first to activate the child theme with no modifications in it, that should not create any problems.
Also do not rename the main theme or the child theme, that could create problems.
Thanks
Hi. I developed aicf.org with Newspaper. At the time the version of the theme was 6. For a while we tried updating the theme but the site’s design got heavily compromised even though our work was clean with a properly configured with a child theme. We had to make a decision with our client and we said we’ll keep it at version 6. Yesterday we got hit with malware due to vulnerability in your theme. I know you fixed it in subsequent versions, but we can’t really upgrade. Is there a solution you can think of to help us out here? Maybe a patch to fix this vulnerability and block the code from working?
