Hello,
The only tested and recommended plugins to use with our theme are these ones:
WP Super Cache- caching plugin
Contact form 7- used to make contact forms
bbPress- forum plugin
BuddyPress- social network plugin
Font Awesome 4 Menus- icon pack, supported in the theme menus
Jetpack- plugin with lots of features *it may slow down your site
WooCommerce- eCommerce solution
WordPress (Yoast) SEO- SEO plugin
Wp User Avatar- Change users avatars
WPML – multilingual plugin
Anything beyond this list is not tested and I cannot say for sure if it will work or not.
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
Hi,
There are some errors in the page, the images are also not loading. I see you use a child theme, please do not change the name of the child theme, it will cause issues. Deactivate it or change it’s name to default, then check the results.
Thanks
You can add this below code to your child theme functions.php file or a site specific plugin. It should do the trick.
function disable_comment_url($fields) {
unset($fields['url']);
return $fields;
}
add_filter('comment_form_default_fields','disable_comment_url');
Hello,
I recently installed and activated the latest Newspaper Child theme on a staging copy of my website.
Upon activation I see the following errors appearing on my website:
wp_booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: tdm_header_style_1 is not set.
/home/myexamplefiles/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp_booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: tdm_header_style_1 Key: file is not set.
/home/myexamplefiles/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp_booster error:
The path of the tdm_header_style_1 header style not found. Did you disable a tagDiv plugin?
/home/myexamplefiles/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp_booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: vc_column_text is not set.
/home/myexamplefiles/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
I have the td_api plugin active and up to date. Not quite sure what the issue is but this blocked access to the backend of my staging copy and got rid of my header. My staging version is staging1.thepostmillennial.com
Thanks for reading.
Best, Madison
Hi,
No need to provide the license here on the forum, you should never do that, the forum is public for all theme users. We will request it if needed by email.
Regarding the issue, from what I can see there is some code from your child theme that affects the post content images (Chrome as well)
– https://www.screencast.com/t/8c6gv098O3fF
Remove that code from the child theme stylesheet an the images will appear
– https://www.screencast.com/t/maYFpBN3e
Thanks
Hi,
From what I can see there seem to be two block 11 in that section
– https://www.screencast.com/t/wnxXw8GEl
The first one seems to be limited to show one post, but when using the ajax filter it affects the below block as well.
I would suggest as a quick test to deactivate all plugins except theme plugins and clear all caching. Check if the blocks have proper functionality. If you made any code modifications to the theme files directly or through a child theme, temporarily remove them.
Thanks
Hi,
Please make sure you do not have any modifications in author.php or a conflicting plugin that also uses the author functionality of wp.
Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
The theme supports a child theme, it is provided in the theme package
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
If you want to modify the loop file you mention, copy it in the child theme and modify it as you wish. Paste it in the main child theme directory, no structure needed for that file.
Remember to activate the child theme as well, in WordPress themes section.
If there is no problem when the child theme is inactive, then either there is code inside it that causes this issue, or you have changed the name of the child theme. Changing the name may cause issues, try using the default child theme provided in the theme package.
If have tried this using a child theme, but it ignores my changes. Does the newspaper theme support child theme ? The file i have been working on is : loop-single-6
Ps. It works fine now with the changes on the “master” file
When I updated Newspaper to 8.7 my child’s theme broke. I deleted the child’s theme and tried to recreate it the same way I created it successfully previously. It gives Error 500 every time. Suggestions?
Hello,
I did the checks proposed (disable all plugins except the “page builder” + disable the theme child + clear the cache +) and it did not change anything.
I do not have any custom code in the theme panel. I do not have a CDN. And I did not modify the theme files.
Thanks in advance for seeing another solution.
cordially
Hello,
Our theme does not limit the breadcrumb size so it could be a plugin conflict. Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
Hi,
Yes i disabled the child theme and then installed everything cleanly but it did nothing. I then increased the memory limit to 256M in wp-config, it started listing ‘all posts’ but very slowly that means it is taking too much resources which was not the case earlier. I have emailed you the credentials for your review.
Hi Simion,
Can you please share the code that was used for removing it ? Will code work on Child Theme ?
Thanks
Hi,
Most of those errors seem to point to the child theme. Try disabling that as well as a quick test. Check if it solves the issue.
If there is still an issue we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also FTP and cPanel access if possible. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
Hi,
I had started a thread but that isn’t helping me. I need some urgent help as my authors are not able to work. Since i have updated to newer theme update of Feb 27, my authors can’t see the list of ‘all posts’ in the admin area. It works normally for ‘admin’ user but all other roles are giving ‘HTTP Error 500’. As you can see the screenshots of morenews.pk
http://prntscr.com/isyfsi
http://prntscr.com/isyfz7
As per your suggestions, i have done a clean install of theme from ftp after removing previous ones. updated the plugins to the latest versions, in fact, reinstalled them from your repository. Removed cache and even disabling other plugins. But it only happens when i start using the latest version of tagDiv Composer on the latest version of theme.
The host tells me the following error in the log file. Can you help me after looking at them as to what thing is causing the issue?

Hi,
First, as mentioned in the theme update guide make a backup of the website
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The theme panel settings including custom code used in the theme panel will not be lost. These are all saved in the database together with your website content.
If you made modifications to the theme files directly these will be lost as you are removing the old theme and installing the new one.
You could consider using a child theme if you want to customize the theme files, these are all the supported files

Unfortunately the theme panel cannot be translated, there is no option for that. That could only be done by actually translating the terms in the theme files, that would require a lot of work
– https://www.screencast.com/t/hNHvTrMq
Also you would have to make these changes directly in the main theme files, not through a child theme.
I have another question. Also in the Newsmag theme. The title of the default posts template and the breadcrumbs text are smaller than in Newspaper. Can I modify the font of this elements (even I have to modify the teme [child theme]?

Hi,
I sent support an email with the site link and login details referencing these two issues below.
We are trying to make our site with version 8.6 of the plugin installed more accessible however, we are having the following issues:
1. When tabbing through the site using a keyboard, the navigation links for the mobile navigation which is non visible on the desktop shows up when tabbing. When we tried removing it via the file/code below, we encounter two issues:a) the header navigation styling on the page gets screwed up, b) the navigation does not work properly and the navigation on mobile devices is disabled(not the intention). Is there a fix you can recommend?
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/parts/menu-mobile.php
<!– menu section –>
<div class=”td-mobile-content”>
<?php
wp_nav_menu(array(
‘theme_location’ => ‘header-menu’,
‘menu_class’=> ‘td-mobile-main-menu’,
‘fallback_cb’ => ‘td_wp_no_mobile_menu’,
‘link_after’ => ‘<i class=”td-icon-menu-right td-element-after”></i>’,
‘walker’ => new td_walker_mobile_menu()
));
//if no menu
function td_wp_no_mobile_menu() {
//this is the default menu
echo ‘<ul class=””>’;
echo ‘<li class=”menu-item-first”>Click here – to use the wp menu builder‘;
echo ‘‘;
}
?>
</div>
</div>
</div>
2. When tabbing through navigation on the top menu and header menu, nested links on the navigation are skipped when tabbing. Is there an issue with the tabindex for
Thanks and we appreciate your help with this.
Update the theme plugins as well, they should update automatically but sometimes it fails. Deactivate and delete the old composer plugin and multi-purpose plugin
– https://www.screencast.com/t/aJk3Bqqa
Then install it from the theme plugins section
– https://www.screencast.com/t/RnuUnwYNXpD
Also if you by any change changed the theme name or you are using a child theme with a custom name, change them to default.
@raznawa Those errors will be displayed when you have selected multi-purpose styles, then the multi-purpose plugin has been deactivated (is inactive). Activate it and there should be no more errors.
Let us know if there still is a problem.
I installed the child theme but nothing changed since fonts are not custom css but options in the theme panel. How can I stop it from loading the default font first?
Future updates will not affect on Code in your Custom Code Section.
Or use Child Theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
