It’s all a mess. In order to use the Cloud plugin I have to got back to the previous version of Newspaper and non of the headers work with the Journal template.
Why would you mess with working websites like this?
This is why I stopped using templates like these. There is always one issue after another. Especially these updates that are hell bent on screwing with past working settings.
Hi,
You could check out some templates that use the background featured image in the way that you mentioned, to see how they are made. Like these ones:
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/2262
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/1438
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/1449
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/855
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/802
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/415
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/414
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/410
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/97
Basically in a row you add the single background featured image element and set a height for it -> https://prnt.sc/gtEttq_j0Nf4
Then inside that same row you add an inner row with the elements you want, and activate the absolute position for the inner row -> https://prnt.sc/z6-mr7WuOmJr and position it top or center or bottom. This way the inner row is positioned over the background image.
If you want to achieve a specific design and you can’t use any of the ready made post templates, I can help with it. You can send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login, also details or examples about the design you want.
Or, you could import a ready made template that looks the closest to your requirements, and customize that one instead of building it from scratch.
Thank you!
Subject: Newspaper Header Logo always links to the default language homepage when using Polylang
Hello tagDiv Support,
I am using the latest version of the Newspaper theme (v12.7.6) together with Polylang on a multilingual news website.
My website structure is:
– English (default): https://yogyapost.com/
– Indonesian: https://yogyapost.com/id/
The multilingual setup is working correctly:
– Language switcher works properly.
– hreflang tags are correct.
– Canonical URLs are correct.
– Open Graph URLs are correct.
– Rank Math SEO outputs the correct metadata for both languages.
However, I have one issue with the Header Logo element.
The issue
The header logo always links to the default language homepage:
even when the visitor is browsing the Indonesian version of the website.
For example:
Current page:
https://yogyapost.com/id/2026/07/09/example-article/
Expected logo link:
https://yogyapost.com/id/
Actual logo link:
https://yogyapost.com/
Inspecting the HTML shows:
My desired behavior
I would like the logo to behave as follows:
– On English pages:
– Home → https://yogyapost.com/
– Articles → https://yogyapost.com/
– On Indonesian pages:
– Articles, categories, tags, archives, search results, etc. → https://yogyapost.com/id/
– (Optionally, I would like the Indonesian homepage itself to continue linking to the English homepage, but my main concern is that all Indonesian content pages should return visitors to the Indonesian homepage.)
What I have already checked
– Newspaper Theme v12.7.6
– Polylang
– Rank Math SEO PRO
– WordPress.com Business
– Header Builder (Cloud Templates)
I also checked the Header Logo element but could not find any option to configure the destination URL of the logo.
My questions
1. Does Newspaper officially support language-aware logo URLs when using Polylang?
2. Is there a built-in setting to make the Header Logo automatically link to the current language homepage?
3. Is there a hook or filter that developers can use to override the Header Logo URL?
4. If this is not currently supported, is it considered a feature request or a known limitation?
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Unfortunately I still don’t quite understand the problem.
If there is a problem with the composer, I can take a look directly on the website. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin user and pass for the website. I will edit the homepage with the composer to see what happens exactly.
Concerning the fonts in the post page, from what I see the post pages are using a basic post template. I assume you want to use a cloud post template, or you were using one before, which looks like the rest of the website. Please check if the cloud post template is set -> https://prnt.sc/_S5MQXxVZ8qx
Thank you!
Hi,
I think that’s the backup header template. It’s used when there’s no actual header set.
I believe you were using a standard header, please make sure that the standard pack plugin is active -> https://prnt.sc/CfJ5bGeDg43t That plugin contains all the standard templates, from before we added the cloud templates.
Or if you were using a cloud header template, please make sure it is set, for example -> https://prnt.sc/2ZMUtcccFFkS
Thank you!
Actually that demo uses two headers. They should both appear in the cloud library dashboard, for example -> https://prnt.sc/ai3_p1GizDYY I should have mentioned this before.
There’s an overlay header, used just for the homepage I believe, and a regular header used for the rest of the website.
An overlay header means it is displayed over part of the content, and it’s usually transparent.
You could use just one header if you want or if it’s better for your website. To make the homepage use the global header instead of the special overlay header, while editing the homepage with the composer please set the global template here -> https://prnt.sc/I2g_blW_UFSd
To explain how that works, you can have different headers if you want, per page. A page can either use the global header, or a specific header if it’s set here -> https://prnt.sc/mcE-54JaWjw_
Please let me know in case there are further issues.
Thank you!
Hi tagDiv team,
I want to set my content width to 1200px (modern news-site layout: full-bleed bars, centered 1200px content column) on zzpnieuws.nl, running Newspaper 12.7.6 with a child theme.
In this forum, your staff has described the solution as follows:
– Simion C. (Sep 2025, topic “How to customize the page width”): “So for a page like your homepage, you must edit it with the composer, click on the rows and stretch them to 1200px, it takes very little time.”
– Calin (Aug 2025, topic “banner in my header”): “you can adjust the row width using tagDiv Composer […] the row to be stretched to 1200px instead of the default.”
However, this stretch control does not appear anywhere in my tagDiv Composer:
1. When I select a Row (both on a regular Composer page and in my header Cloud Template), hovering over the left/right edges of the row in the preview shows no drag handles and no resize cursor.
2. The Row settings panel (tabs General / Divider / Layout / Css) contains no stretch or row-width dropdown. The Layout tab only has column layout, alignment, order and “occupy remaining space”. The Css tab only has a manual pixel Width field.
3. Theme Panel → Template Settings has no global site/content width setting either.
My questions:
– Where exactly is the “stretch row to 1200px” control in Newspaper 12.7.6? Is it a drag interaction in the preview, a setting, or something that must be enabled first?
– Is this feature version-, license- or configuration-dependent?
– If it is genuinely unavailable in my setup: what is your recommended, update-safe way to achieve a 1200px content width site-wide (including the default single post and category templates) without breaking the responsive grid and thumbnail calculations?
Setup: Newspaper 12.7.6 (deploy mode: deploy), child theme (originally generated on Newspaper 9), tagDiv Composer + Cloud Library active, header built as a Cloud Template, LiteSpeed Cache, hosting at Cloud86.
Screenshots attached: (1) the Row settings panel showing the four tabs without a width option, (2) a selected row in the preview where no drag handles appear on the edges. See images here: https://postimg.cc/gallery/3xm1fCyimages

Hello guys,
When I create a new page or post, I use the SureRank Pro to optimze my SEO. It has worked fine on other themes, but since pages and posts are created in TagDiv Composer, the WordPress Editor is full of Tagdiv codes, to provide the expected layout on the frontend.
But this gives me an issue with my SEO plugin, as it cant find relevant keywords and more when trying to optimize the content, due to the code in the editor.
– So how can I optimze the content, using this plugin to ensure the relevant SEO optimizations?

Hi
Please whenever I activate theme and plugins on my site NaijaVibe.net, loads really slow and my site goes down 504.

Please advise what I need to do to resolve this

Hi,
Thank you for your help.
I found the cause and confirmed it with testing.
The issue was not caused by Redis Object Cache, OPcache, Cloudflare, LiteSpeed, WP Rocket, or another WordPress caching plugin.
The site is hosted on a self-managed VPS using WordOps with Nginx and PHP-FPM 7.4. WordOps uses an Nginx-level WP Super Cache integration:
include common/wpsc-php74.conf;
The active Nginx rule was serving WP Super Cache static HTML files directly before WordPress/Newspaper could run.
The original WordOps rule was looking for the mobile HTTPS cache file in this order:
index${mobile_prefix}${https_prefix}.html
On my server:
mobile_prefix = -mobile
https_prefix = -https
So Nginx was looking for:
index-mobile-https.html
However, WP Super Cache generates the mobile HTTPS file as:
index-https-mobile.html
Because Nginx could not find the mobile cache file, it fell back to:
index-https.html
As a result, mobile visitors were receiving the desktop cached file before WordPress/Newspaper could serve the dedicated mobile content.
This also explains why adding a query parameter made the mobile layout appear correctly, because that bypassed the direct static cache delivery.
I adjusted the Nginx WPSC rule so it now looks for:
index${https_prefix}${mobile_prefix}.html
I also prevented mobile requests from falling back to the desktop cache file if the mobile cache file does not exist.
After clearing cache, the homepage and other pages now generate separate cache files correctly:
index-https.html
index-https-mobile.html
I tested the homepage, a post, and a category page on both desktop and mobile user agents. The first request generates the cache, and the following requests are served very fast. The mobile layout now displays correctly on a real phone as well.
So the root cause was the WordOps/Nginx WP Super Cache static delivery rule, not the Newspaper theme or WP Super Cache plugin itself.
Thank you again for your assistance.
Hi Simion,
Thank you again. After your database correction, I was able to activate the Newspaper theme successfully.
The license is now registered and assigned to:
The My License panel shows realnews.com.br as ACTIVE, and the Prebuilt Websites section is loading correctly again.
Just as a technical note: we are using a WordPress snippet to improve wp-admin performance by limiting external HTTP requests, but we added a whitelist for WordPress, Envato, ThemeForest and tagDiv hosts.
This is the current snippet:
`php
add_filter(‘block_local_requests’, ‘__return_false’);
if (!defined(‘WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL’)) {
define(‘WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL’, true);
}
if (!defined(‘WP_ACCESSIBLE_HOSTS’)) {
define(
‘WP_ACCESSIBLE_HOSTS’,
‘api.wordpress.org,downloads.wordpress.org,wordpress.org,*.wordpress.org,api.envato.com,envato.com,*.envato.com,themeforest.net,*.themeforest.net,tagdiv.com,www.tagdiv.com,*.tagdiv.com,cloud.tagdiv.com’
);
}
`
At the moment, the license, My License panel and Prebuilt Websites section are working correctly with this snippet enabled.
Could you please confirm if these tagDiv/Envato hosts are enough for Newspaper license validation, updates and cloud features, or if any additional tagDiv host should be added to the whitelist?
I appreciate your help and the correction on your side.

Wagner Andrade

I suggest excluding this script from the optimization if possible:
https://www.thehinh.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/js/tdSmartSidebar.js
If it still doesn’t work, also exclude this script:
https://www.thehinh.com/wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/assets/js/js_files_for_front.min.js
Then it should work.
Thank you!
Hi,
I really like how Newsmag automatically changes the Hero/Big Grid section on mobile (see Screenshot). The first featured article stays large, while the next four articles are displayed in a clean two-column grid.
In Newspaper, the same section keeps the desktop layout and the smaller articles become horizontally scrollable instead.
Is there a built-in Big Grid, Flex Block, Cloud Library template, or responsive option that reproduces the same mobile layout as Newsmag?
Thank you!
I’m using the latest version of Newspaper with Cloud Templates.
I created a custom Cloud Header called **”Header Template – Habersham News.”**
I can edit the desktop version of the header without any issues.
However, when I switch to the **mobile version** inside the Header Template and make changes (for example adding a hamburger menu), the editor says the changes were saved, but when I close the template and reopen it, all of the mobile changes are gone. The desktop changes persist normally.
Because of this, I ended up editing the mobile header directly inside my **Single Post Cloud Template**, where the changes do save correctly. That solved the problem for single posts, but Pages (such as my Obituaries page) still use the global Header Template, so they don’t receive the custom mobile header.
My questions are:
1. Is this expected behavior?
2. Should the mobile version of a Cloud Header Template save independently of the desktop version?
3. Is there a known issue where mobile edits to a Cloud Header Template are not persisted?
4. What is the recommended way to have the same custom mobile header (logo, hamburger menu, search, ad, etc.) appear consistently on both Posts and Pages?
Thanks!
Hi,
That isn’t a known issue. But I do have a pretty good idea about what’s happening.
Does the page maybe look like this when it happens? -> https://prnt.sc/hyCp9Ek6hrrs
That’s the mobile theme version, meaning the mobile theme plugin is active on the website. The mobile theme doesn’t load composer or cloud library resources and classes.
Normally the mobile theme is displayed on mobile. But sometimes due to the caching used on the website or provided by the hosting, it can get displayed on desktop as well. It usually depends on how the homepage is visited after the cache is cleared. If someone visits it with a mobile, then the mobile version is cached and server to everyone. By updating the page in the composer you are basically clearing the cache, and if you check with a desktop next then the problem is solved. Until by coincidence it will happen again.
I see you use litespeed, if this is the only caching used on the website, I suggest activating this option -> https://prnt.sc/gSi7feVctFPh If it’s already active and it’s still happening, then it means there is another cache active.
Or, you could deactivate the mobile theme plugin. It’s an optional plugin.
I believe that this is what’s happening, because it fits the description of the problem. I could be wrong however.
Let me know.
Thank you!
Hello,
I run the Newspaper theme (version 12.7.6, registered) with tagDiv Composer on a WordPress site hosted at WP Engine. The homepage intermittently breaks: the hero/feature grid renders as gray bands with no background images and the layout collapses. It happens every several days, with no edit or publish that I can tie to it.
I have diagnosed this fairly precisely and want to share the evidence, because it points to the Composer template failing to compose rather than a caching or browser issue.
WHAT THE BROKEN VS HEALTHY HTML SHOWS
I captured the HTML of the same homepage URL (page ID 370) in both states.
Broken state (~59 KB):
body class is MISSING: wp-theme-Newspaper, global-block-template-1, tdb-template, td-full-layout
4 td_block instances
6 style blocks, about 9.8 KB of inline CSS
0 background-image rules (which is why no hero imagery paints)
Healthy state (~899 KB):
body class INCLUDES: wp-theme-Newspaper, global-block-template-1, tdb-template, td-full-layout
324 td_block instances
41 style blocks, about 53 KB of inline CSS
about 200 background-image rules
So in the broken state the tagDiv block-builder template for the page is not composing at all. The tdb-template / global-block-template-1 output and inline CSS never generate.
WHAT FIXES IT AND WHAT DOES NOT
Purging the host cache does NOT fix it. The broken render is served even on a forced cache miss and on hard refresh, so it is not stale cache.
Re-saving the homepage in tagDiv Composer (Save, with the green Header/Footer/Content Successfully Saved confirmations) DOES fix it immediately, every time. This is now reproduced twice.
So a fresh Composer composition produces the correct page, and something later causes the page to revert to the un-composed render.
PATTERN
It stays healthy for several days, then suddenly reverts to the broken render.
One stable stretch lasted about 9 days before recurring.
A re-save fixes it for another multi-day stretch.
ONE POSSIBLY RELATED DETAIL
When the broken version was being served, the host cache had bucketed a desktop request into the mobile/iphone cache group. I mention it only in case Composer mobile/desktop template variant handling is relevant to why an incomplete render gets produced.
QUESTIONS
Is there a known issue where the Composer block-builder template fails to compose on a page regeneration, producing output without the tdb-template / global-block-template-1 body classes and without the inline CSS?
Could a periodic Composer cloud-library sync, a theme/Composer background process, or a license re-check trigger a re-render that lands in this un-composed state?
Is there a setting or maintenance step that forces the template to always fully compose, so I do not have to manually re-save in Composer every few days?
Is there a current recommended compatible pairing of Newspaper theme version and tagDiv Composer plugin version I should confirm I am on?
I can provide both full HTML captures (healthy and broken) on request.

I am trying to assign my staging site as the 2nd site for the license. There is no way to assign it because you say I have another staging site that is licensed. That is incorrect. The license applies to TravelMaine.com but the staging2.travelmaine.com was deleted a long time ago. Why are you making me buy another license for a new staging site? That does not seem fair to me.
Also, my developer said the site is breaking on the staging site when they try to update because I need the two plugins (see message below). Why are they not included in the update? Is this happening because you will not allow me to use my license on a staging site? Please advise ASAP!
Hello Lisa,
Thank you for contacting our Help Desk.
We have completed testing of the theme update on the staging site.
The Newspaper parent theme was upgraded successfully, while the child theme remained in place as expected. However, after the update, we found an issue with two required companion plugins, td-composer and td-cloud-library. These plugins did not remain active properly after the upgrade, which caused problems with the theme functionality and page layout.
Because of this, we reverted the change after testing so the site would remain stable and continue working as expected.
At this point, the issue does not appear to be with the update process itself, but rather with the plugin versions that should match the updated theme version. The package provided seems to be missing the corresponding plugin files, or it does not include the correct versions needed for this release.
To proceed safely, we would need the complete theme package for this version, including the bundled plugin files, so we can install the matching versions and test the update again.
Please send over the full package if available, and we will be happy to continue from there.

Hi,
From what I see the header template is not set anymore, so the theme uses a simple backup header. Normally the cloud templates should still be set after updating the theme.
Please update again. After updating check in the cloud library dashboard to see if the header and the rest of the cloud templates are still set -> https://prnt.sc/mROMJdzK6-_H
Let me know if that’s the case or if the templates are actually set and it still displays like that.
Thank you!
Hi there,
I’ve been trying for awhile now to upgrade a site to 12.7.6 from 12.7.5 but each time it breaks the top portion of the site. After upgrading, I re-install and activate the tagDIV Composer and tagDIV Cloud Library as both installations are removed but the logo, nav menu, ad, weather widget and general formatting are removed. This is what it should look like:
This is what it looks like after updating the theme:
These are the theme plugins that are installed and activated:
Thoughts on what might be causing this?
Hi,
It can’t be recovered unfortunately. A page that is sent to trash and then also permanently deleted from there -> https://prnt.sc/bjAStMi48562 is completely gone.
Same if it’s done from the cloud library from here -> https://prnt.sc/0OBLKLrfheIf and then here -> https://prnt.sc/4kDqUfJkxcXh
Without a backup I see no way to recover the page.
If the homepage was based on a homepage template from the cloud library, it will have to be imported and customized again. It will take some work but there’s no other way.
If I can help with something please let me know.
Thank you!
I’m using Newspaper 12.7.6 with:
PHP Version 8.4.22
WP Memory Limit 256 MB
PHP Execution Time 60
PHP Max Input Vars 10000
Today I noticed my site without the home page styles and structure, I went to the dashboard and saw somehow the home page template was missing (maybe an admin sent it to trash, I’m not sure). I tried to restore it but instead it was removed completely. Now the trash is also empty.
Certainly something is wrong, but maybe there is a bug preventing the home template showing in the “Cloud templates” section and hopefully the template is still there in the database? The site is still under construction and backups were not configured yet (surely I’ll be doing that right now).
From what I see in your screenshot, the widget sidebar is below the featured image at the top. So that’s where the widgets should be displayed. Is the template live so I can check it?
You could set the new cloud template just for one post -> https://prnt.sc/54oCjDqKiSHB and provide a link to it so I can check how it looks on mobile.
Thank you!
Hi,
While I haven’t tested the plugin myself, I suggest using a regular post loop in the search template, meaning either of these two -> https://prnt.sc/SjVO_yiOaVck So not a flex loop, or a flex loop builder, or a block.
From what I see you are using a cloud template for the search results, is there no option to edit it with the composer? There should be one directly in the admin bar -> https://prnt.sc/Bsw1_b8OQH1j Or the option from the cloud library dashboard -> https://prnt.sc/lLMGfC8RQPvS
Then replace the flex loop builder that you are currently using in the search template with one of those two basic loops. Then it should work. If it does, then all that’s left is to customize the design of the loop to match the website a bit.
I hope it works fine.
Thank you!
Hello,
I’m using the Newspaper theme (version 12.7.6, with tagDiv Composer) on my live news site zzpnieuws.nl, which has an archive of 1,100+ articles. I want to use the Relevanssi search plugin to improve site search, but the search results page returns no results when Relevanssi is active.
What I’ve confirmed:
– With Relevanssi active, the search results page (e.g. /?s=schijnzelfstandigheid) shows “no results” for terms that appear hundreds of times in my archive, even though Relevanssi’s index is fully built and correct (1,122 documents, ~139,597 terms; posts and pages both included) and all Relevanssi settings are correct.
– The moment I deactivate Relevanssi, the theme’s native search works again immediately and returns the expected results. So the theme search itself is fine; the conflict is specifically between the search results template and Relevanssi.
– This persists on the latest version 12.7.6, with all caches cleared.
I’ve read an earlier reply from your team (Bettina) to another user, suggesting to edit the search page with tagDiv Composer and use a Flex Block with the filter “Search: Current Search” and no offset value. I’d like to apply this correctly but I’m not sure which template controls my search results page.
My questions:
1. Which template controls the search results page in the Newspaper theme – is it a Cloud Library template, a dedicated Search template in the Website Manager, or the theme default? I have a custom archive page that contains the search form, but the results appear on a separate /?s= page.
2. How should the Flex Block (“Search: Current Search”, no offset) be configured so the search results respect Relevanssi’s output instead of the theme’s own query?
3. Is there a recommended filter or hook for this that survives theme updates, rather than editing a core theme file?
I have a full backup in place and can provide temporary admin access through the official support channel if needed. This isn’t urgent – native search is working as a fallback – but I’d like to know the correct way to integrate Relevanssi with your theme.
Thank you,
Marco Weeber
