Hi guys,
I’ve recently updated to version 10.3.3 from 9.x and I’m in the process of moving my child theme over.
It appears that child theme files for tag.php, category.php etc, no longer respect the “ARTICLE DISPLAY VIEW” or “CUSTOM SIDEBAR + POSITION” set within the theme panel.
Even if I start with bare child theme and simply copy:
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/tag.php
to:
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-Child/tag.php
As soon as this file is in the child template directory I lose the theme panel settings mentioned above. Please note that this happens with an exact copy of the original theme file and no other files modigied in the child theme.
If I delete this file then the settings start working again.
Is there any reason for this? Are child themes still supported?
I cannot use cloud templates for my particular use case so I need to be able to utilize a child theme.

That is not an error, you do not have set a cloud template, you only try to edit a standard template that is not editable.
Yes, these files need to be set in child theme, if not will be lost when you’ll make the theme update. Also you’ll need t regenerate the images after you made the changes in theme files -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Sorry, unfortunately, there is no option fr this, it can be achieve only with custom work, the file that need to be edited is this one -> wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/shortcodes/single/tdb_single_bg_featured_image.php

Il sito funziona ma non posso modificare nessun template. Inoltre, ma questo già da prima, non riesco ad inserire la pubblicità negli articoli. Ho seguito varie discussioni su questo foruma ma la soluzione consigliata non sembra funzionare!

The newsletter can not be set in post content as in your example. You can use it on any page and cloud templates (on any element place where you can use tagDiv Composer) -> https://i.imgur.com/PKNfdAj.jpg

If you want to have the mailchimp inside the post, then you need to st the code inside of all post you want to have the mailchimp.

As I know this solution should work on standard post style without problems, but on cloud template is very possible to not work, cloud template is a CPT the code for single post template is different from the standard post style/template, the files from this path -> wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/shortcodes/single are used to create cloud templates, these are saved in database. The file responsive for the author is tdb_single_author.php
Also please note that this custom implementation is not covered by support team.

You can use tagDiv Cloud Library and import from there pages/sections templates for podcast posts and pages, in this way you’ll not need to install the demo and keep Newspaper pro demo, also you’ll achieve the same layout.
The cloud templates are editable using tagDiv Composer so you can change the layout and adjust it.

I’m still running your mobile theme on my site, activated and customized. We just update to new version.
I am using cloudflare CDN, if i activate this page rule setting to speed up the site, the mobile theme doesn’t charge, instead of it it loads the desktop site in mobile

Since the last update, Yoast SEO causes an error at “Single Template, Authorspage”. The Articles wont show up anymore, if i deactivate Yoast everything is ok. Maybe you know what i can do about this.

is there any chance to add/code a link on a cloud-template on the “Single Post (BG) Featured Image”. We want every photo link to always the same specific destination.
On “Single Image Box” – I have the options: “Image link” and “Open in new window” – is there a chance to do it anywhere or manual code it in the template?

Usually the h1 is set on logo, if you are using a cloud header from tagDiv Cloud Library, you can have a different H1 per page/posts, another way is to using the Page Builder + Page Title on page template, this should set your page title as h1 and remove the h1 from logo.
If you want that your title to have the h1 set instead of logo, then please check if you are using a cloud header, if yes, then you can edit it with tagDiv Composer and disable the h1 -> http://prntscr.com/q1ohji from desktop and make sure that you do the same for mobile logo -> https://www.screencast.com/t/xVUjIMUelXA2 -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ABTw6DUnbMjH and the problem will be solved!.

I think that you are referring to infinite loading option-> https://tagdiv.com/infinite-loading-for-single-posts/ this is set on single post template from tagDiv Cloud Library and can be edited with tagDiv Composer.
If this option is not working on mobile, is very possible to use the mobile theme plugin, this is using a different template/layout for mobile (a simple template to make the mobile version faster). If is so, then you can activate the responsive version -> https://i.imgur.com/YPZjo9r.png on some posts, or use the amp version only for amp -> https://i.imgur.com/WMGulIt.png

If you want to use that element only on some posts, then you need to use a single post template from tagDiv Cloud Library, this can be edited with tagDiv Composer, and you can set the elements in order you want, also you can add and remove elements.

My question is whether the separate mobile theme is customizable via options to include related articles, more articles or latest articles. If not, how can i make these blocks enabled? Currently i use cloud templates to design page blocks visually. Would i be able to do it via template code?
