Hi,
If you want to have more control over category page you can use a category template from tagDiv Cloud Library and edit it with tagDiv Composer you can edit the template to make the category page to look like you want.
Thank you!
Hi!
I generally make a new child theme only from the style.css and functions.php files. I take files from your documentation from the downloaded archive. As soon as I activate the child theme, the AMP item in the WP panel disappears. I remove the child theme – it appears.
In addition, a simple shortcode to replace text that works in version 9.6.1 in functions.php refuses to work in version 9.7.1. And does not work in the AMP version of the page.
In version 9.7.1, the changes (added js codes) in the child theme in the loop-single.php file do not work either. You did not move it to the tagdiv composer plugin.
Does the child theme work at all?

Hi,
If you want to split your Header section into 6 columns, you need to use the Header Manager functionality and split your ROW into 3 columns and then, inside each column, you need to add an inner column which has to be split into 2 columns as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/HAhi4K5ER Also, notice that if you want to achieve these, you need to use our page builder. Also, for better theme results we recommend using Td Composer without WP Bakery because might appears some issues.
Thank you!
Hi,
It isn’t safe to modify main files, one of the reasons is that the modifications will be lost when the theme and theme plugins are updated, so they will have to be made again.
After the 9.7 update the child theme is limited to just a few files. This is a consequence of the recent modifications to the location of theme files, due to Envato requirements.
If you are looking for the mobile theme files they are now in the composer
– http://prntscr.com/ng4hfo
These files couldn’t be modified in a child theme previously.
Thanks
Hi,
If you want to customize the view on the mobile phone, notice that you can do it from TD Composer from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Lbhj17Z4U If is not what you mean, provide more details.
Thank you!
Hi,
If you want to edit the header you need to use the header manager and set a header from tagDiv Cloud Library.
The footer have some default templates -> https://www.screencast.com/t/mShaMP4H1H if you want to edit the footer with tagDiv Composer you need to set a footer page.
Footer templates -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!
Hi MKJ,
Please notice that for each up theme update you need to make a full backup to your database to avoid losing all of your data. Regarding on child theme, please notice that’s the consequence of moving the theme core files.
Most of the theme files were moved into the TagDiv composer plugin as per the requirements of Envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements. We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css, as there are very few files left in the main theme as Envato, requires all functionality to be added through plugins.
Thank you for understanding!
Hi,
Unfortunately I’m can not see your screenshot -> https://www.screencast.com/t/qurH8oRm9i5
The mobile theme is a plugin that provide you a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to create a new content for pages because in the most of cases those were made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) and you need to use only the mobile editor ( you need to set the content for pages in mobile editor and this content will be display on mobile theme)
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/ebUIzt4se
If you want the responsive version and amp you should use this opinion -> https://www.screencast.com/t/jZct5ueBqOrb but if you have amp activate on pages you’ll need to create in Mobile editor a content for AMP version of page.
Also please check our documentation for Mobile Theme: Automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
I think that you are referring to those 3 blocks, for those you’ll need to have set seam feature posts (that have set feature category) -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/ -> https://www.screencast.com/t/QsJ6ppY4
You’ll need to add some post in feature category -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/ if you do not have this category you can create it, just make sure that you set the category name to be
Featured
Let me know if you have more questions!
Thank you!
Hi,
Most of the theme files were moved into the tagdiv composer plugin as per the requirements of envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.
We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css as there are very few files left in the main theme as envato requires all functionality to be added through plugins.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
Hi,
That would be the case, the child theme is quite limited after the recent update. Most theme files have been moved in the composer plugin as mentioned here
– https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So now the post template files are now in the composer – http://prntscr.com/ng3e26
You could edit them there, but the modification will have to made again after each update.
Maybe you could display the ratings in different way. Some ratings sections provided by plugins can be displayed with shortcodes. You could use a cloud post template for the posts, in the cloud post templates use a column text element in which you enter the plugin shortcode. This would be one way to display ratings on posts.
I believe this request is on our list, a rating option may be available in the theme in a future update.
Thanks
Hi,
You need to use the above example to make only one row to be sticky when you scroll down will appear the sticky menu, then you’ll need to edit it with tagDiv Composer ( in your case you’ll need to remove one row ).
Thank you!
Hi,
1. If you want to import pages from tagDiv Cloud Library you need to import homepages, if you want to change the post templates you need to import single post templates ( you can not set a single post template content in a page ).
You can edit/build pages and template using tagDiv Composer.
2. You need to use the header manager and check the sticky menu, scroll until you see the sticky menu and click on logo -> https://www.screencast.com/t/o6Z8zoJoWbFY
Thank you!
Same here. I posted several comments in this forum regarding this topic with no helpful answer. Common guys, it’s a simple question: How can we overwrite files in the composer plugin? This is not rocket science, is it? If we cannot do this, all customization would be lost (or at least not update-safe). Both is not acceptable.
Hi,
After the new update most of the theme files were moved in the composer plugin, so this has to be active at all times in order to maintain the same functionality. Here is an article about it if you haven’t read it, as to what was done and why
– https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So the file you are looking for is now in the composer – http://prntscr.com/ng2vqk
Thanks
Hi,
Since upgrading Newspaper to the latest version I’ve had nothing but trouble.
I now get messages saying
tagDiv Composer Outdated /
tagDiv Cloud Library Outdated /
tagDiv Social Counter Outdated /
I have disabled them, re-enabled & still same message, I have now removed them & re-installed the plugins and still get the same message – WHAT IS HAPPENING.
The update to 9.7 was a major disapointment. Our site was broken due to deactivated plugins. The wp-admin login url didn’t work anymore. So far so bad. The most ennoying problem, however, was the fact that many post templates were moved to the td-composer plugin folder. Many forum users reported problems, since the modified files in the child theme weren’t used anymore. While I understand that you had to do this due to Envato requirements, why didn’t you post a solution. Perhaps you did, but I couldn’t find any. Even plugin files can be overwritten. But you have to give us some information, since there is no standard procedure for this. Newspaper is a premium theme. It is absolutely not acceptable that you leave us out in the cold.
Hi
Ive been using wp bakery but with the changes in 9.7 i want to move over to tagdiv composer. One issue, how do I create a 5 or 6 column menu? I use this layout for some mega menus, and I don’t want to loose this layout option. Can you please advise.
Hi,
So this happens only when you activate the composer, are there any errors? In some cases such issues are caused by insufficient resources – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/
Please follow the guide carefully and increase the needed parameters, also activate the necessary PHP modules if needed. The hosting provider should be able to do this for you or at least provide some assistance.
In case the problem remains please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel will be helpful. Include a link to this topic in the email. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
The recent 9.7 is somewhat a major update in a way, there were some modifications made to how the theme and theme plugins work – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
This means that to maintain the same functionality now the composer plugin has to be active at all times, because many theme files are now part of it.
If you follow the steps in the guide carefully there should be no problem. Most reliable method to update is by FTP, delete the old theme and upload the new theme. Update all the plugins as mentioned. Also here is a guide – https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
If you use a child theme, note that since most of the theme files are in a plugin, it will not work anymore.
Thanks
Hi,
That demo uses a cloud header template. In order to customize the header you will have to edit it with the composer.
Access the cloud templates section and edit the nomad header – http://prntscr.com/nfqrj2
remove the text logo and icon – http://prntscr.com/nfqx6k w2hich the demo header uses initially – http://prntscr.com/nfqxuf and make the image logo visible
– http://prntscr.com/nfqy96
Then the logo set in the theme panel will be shown. If you have more questions let us know.
Thanks
Come on guys, really. Stop repeating this mantra and start working on a reliable solution if you want to keep your operation going. Your credibility and reputation after this fiasco is going down the drain and you are not helping yourself one bit.
Is it the end of TagDiv? As I’m sure we’ll find other theme who can deliver.
Why don’t you listen to your clients? Or is it that you have decided in advance to give up on us? and any other prospects who would clearly decide on other themes after getting to know this.
Some customizations can’t be made through the TD composer, like coauthor integration, rtl adjustments etc. Elements that you also refuse to integrate yourself.
I’m really sorry now for choosing you over other themes that do support those things.
Really disappointing.
Thumbs down in all possible fora from now on.
I really hope you get back to your senses. ASAP!!!!
Hi,
That would be the case, the child theme is quite limited after the recent update. Most theme files have been moved in the composer plugin as mentioned here
– https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So now the file that you used to modify is in the composer – http://prntscr.com/nfpxm0 which could be modified but you will have to do it each time you update the theme and plugins.
Maybe consider using a search plugin which has this functionality, try free plugins. Here are some examples – https://colorlib.com/wp/search-plugins-for-wordpress/
– https://www.quora.com/Is-there-a-WordPress-search-engine-plugin-that-allows-you-to-search-outside-of-your-website
Thanks
Hi,
You need to have tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Cloud Library activate -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3xVQIpkAb -> https://www.screencast.com/t/HnUXhRk5GRe filter on blocks -> https://www.screencast.com/t/FQjPjuhZEa7 for post you’ll need to get the single post template from tagDiv Cloud Literary -> https://www.screencast.com/t/eYkeLqbCqV -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3qCSo9Nxtt
Thank you!
Hi,
That is not possible by a theme setting unfortunately. However, note that in an ad box you can now place the ad code directly. So the ad box element can display ads that are not entered in the theme panel custom ads spots – http://prntscr.com/nfpi4j
You can place as many ad boxes as you want, while editing the page/cloud template with the composer.
Thanks
Hi,
New the single_template_1.php can be found in wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/parts/single/single_template_1.php -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Fu7JfEo6ctB
Unfortunately these files can not longer be set in child theme.
Hope this will help you!
Thanks.
