Wait! The TD Composer spontaneously started working this afternoon (US Eastern Time)!!! Maybe a Windows 10 update is responsible?

I’ll get back to you with a new support request if it stops working going forward.

Thanks,
Laura

Turns out all I had to do was disable TD Composer 🙂 They should’ve added a warning when both plugins are active.

How to update Visual Composer plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

But developres strongly recommend you to use tagDiv Composer with Newspaper: https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/

Important Note: Do not use both page builders on the same page!

Hi,

So I have purchased the Newspaper theme but for some reason I don’t have Visual Composer. Have I made a mistake and just need to install it or is it a separate purchase from Newspaper itself?

I think I have lost the link to where I can download visual composer! Ahh!

Thanks,

Mitchell White

Hi,

The tagDiv composer does not have any specific requirements. There might be some functionality problems or it may not work properly if the system status is not set according to this guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If Visual composer is working, you can keep using that until you find a different solution hopefully.

Hi,

You can create any page you want and use the TagDiv composer to place elements on it. The full review will be displayed only on the post pages, on modules in blocks only the total score is displayed

Hello Simion,

When I attempt to edit a page using the TD Composer, I get a blank screen.

I’ll try the classic deactivating all other plugins, enabling them one by one to see if there is a conflict. The thing is, everything was working just fine previously. Guess there could have been an update that broke things?

I’ll follow up with more information after looking at all the plugins. My system status seems to be in compliance with theme documentation.

Thanks,
Laura

Hi,

That means that the specific page is probably not created with the tagDiv composer or it contains elements not available in the composer. Try to edit a different page and see if the message is still displayed.
Or create a new page and make some tests by placing elements on it, and then try to edit it again.

Thanks

Hi,

1. The theme is based on a three column layout, that is how the all the blocks are designed as well. Here you can see how all the blocks look in different layouts
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
There are blocks that can display more modules per columns for example
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-15/

2. It could be possible, but I cannot say for sure. On pages using the tagDiv composer you can achieve full width results, but not a user defined width. That could only be done with theme modifications or custom code.
We try to implement more and more options and features with each update, and the list of suggestions and user recommendations is increasing daily. It is hard for the developer team to decide what gets introduced as soon as possible and what gets delayed.

Thank you!

I spoke too soon, even with the memory limit raised and the login issue resolved, tagDiv Composer is now enabled but isn’t loading in the WYSIWIG Visual Editor, nor from the front end when we click on ‘Edit with TD Composer’. Hosting have looked into this and it’s not logging any specific errors so we’re unsure as to what’s even causing the issue now. Does the TD Composer have any specific requirements? It looks like we’ll jusy revert to VC as it works fine and without any issues.

Hi Elmer,

Glad to see that someone else was experiencing the same issue as myself, I thought I was going mad. I tried everything and then I found your thread, my site was working fine except I couldn’t switch between live site and dashboard using the nav bar link, it created a 500, this was only when tagDiv Composer was activated, without it everything worked fine.

I forwarded your solution on to my host manager this morning and we use a slightly different set up, I asked him to give me a brief outline of what our issue was incase anyone else was experiencing similar, here’s what he said;

If you know anyone else having this issue, they simply need to ask their server admin to raise the SecResponseBodyLimit in mod_security. No need to recompile Apache or change the MPM.

Regards
Matt

Hi.
I am using newspaper 8 and visual composer 5.2 version.
Today I tried to edit my homepage elements and found that visual composer is showing the codes to me instead of visual stuff. https://image.ibb.co/h8oCSF/Error.jpg
What should I do to bring back the visual edit of this composer like before?
Regards.

Hi,

In some cases having both the editors active can cause problems. If you are using Visual composer for your website, deactivate the tagDiv composer.
The tagDiv editor is activated by default when the theme is installed or updated

Hi,

If the theme system status a is according to the documentation, there should be no problem is using the tagDiv composer. Only maybe other plugins could interfere with it’s functionality, but you tested that as well.
Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a closer look and try and identify the problem. Also paste a link to this topic in your email.

Thanks

Hi,

@llucson
Please try and deactivate the tagDiv composer and delete it. Then install it again from the them package. Then test while having only plugins from the theme active.
If there is still a problem, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a look. Maybe we can identify what is causing this issue.
Also paste a link to this topic in your email.

Thanks

Hi,

You could use Visual composer on posts, but it is not officially recommended. The composer is only meant to be used on pages in the theme documentation
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
There may be problems if you use it on posts, but you can keep using it if is absolutely necessary and you used it before.

Thanks

i’ve tried reading and doing everything suggested on this forum but still can’t get the tagdiv composer to work. it just keeps rotating like it’s trying to open but it will not.

I have done the system parameter guide, deactivated and reactivated all plugins, even the theme its self, but nothing is working. I’m trying to work on my home page but I cant. Please Help give more advise.

Same issue here. Fortunately I was able to move successfully to the tagDiv Composer to update the theme but now I cannot update using the TD Composer 🙁

Hello, I’m having the exact same problem and to make sure it’s not caused by other plugins or custom code I created a fresh WordPress installation on https://update.rahetbally.com/ and installed ONLY Newsmag & the attached version of Visual Composer (I even deleted Jetpack and other default plugins) and yet it doesn’t work.

The page at https://update.rahetbally.com/test/ is supposed to have two columns “Desktop”: should be visible on lg,md,sm and “Mobile”: should be visible on “xs” only. But you can see clearly that none of the classes (vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs) are added to the columns.

Here’s the backend code for /test:
[vc_row][vc_column width="1/3"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3" offset="vc_hidden-xs"][vc_custom_heading text="Desktop"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/3"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3" offset="vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm"][vc_custom_heading text="Mobile"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

You can see that the ‘vc_hidden’ classes are ignored in the generated HTML:
<div class=”vc_row td_uid_2_59889dbb6feb4_rand wpb_row td-pb-row”><div class=”vc_column td_uid_3_59889dbb6ffe4_rand wpb_column vc_column_container td-pb-span4″><div class=”wpb_wrapper”></div></div><div class=”vc_column td_uid_4_59889dbb7009e_rand wpb_column vc_column_container td-pb-span4″><div class=”wpb_wrapper”><h2 style=”text-align: left;font-family:Abril Fatface;font-weight:400;font-style:normal” class=”vc_custom_heading”>Desktop</h2></div></div><div class=”vc_column td_uid_5_59889dbb705e4_rand wpb_column vc_column_container td-pb-span4″><div class=”wpb_wrapper”></div></div></div>

Thank you,

Hello Somion this is clear to me, but don´t want to edit the them files. Will this bug be removed with the next update or are you pushing and supporting in future only the tagDiv Composer? Your theme should also work clearly with the Visual Builder. Don´t Want to recreate 1.000 Post with the tagDIV Composer.

I really don’t want to upgrade the theme and so many things went wrong last time.

will not be easier to reinstall an old version of visual composer? If so, which version came with newspaper 7?

thanks

I tried replicating the problem but couldn’t.

It’s related to the same page I posted about here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/do-we-need-to-update-td-composer-upon-updating-theme/

Had originally gotten a blank page for that page and the only other one I’ve used TD Composer for. Then I posted that question…then later got this error message.

But as I mentioned, I haven’t had a problem again.
